I really like your shop. It's a very small space, but it is so well organized, efficient, clean. It's a comfortable and cozy place to work, with everything out of the way until you need it, yet immediately available when you do need it. Designing a shop is a never-ending task. My shop is more like chaos right now. I spend most of my time looking for things. It's something I am trying to fix, so maybe I can get some good tips from your approach. I also really like the layout of your back yard. Again, it is a small space, but you have managed to create a tranquil, relaxing space with room for entertaining and outdoor living. Love the Koi tank and the light pole.
Great to see you have made the workshop update Daniel, looks fantastic. I am so glad you still do your updates and hopefully are on the road to recovery. So many people appreciate what you are and have done to help others with their luthiery journey (I have just made and used your truss rod routing jig). Take your time, and we all look forward to seeing your next project, take care.
What a shop brother. Very nice. I'm so glad you're back man. I for one have missed your methodical approach to our craft and your beautiful designs. While that will always be the case, I'm really happy to see you back in the frame of mind to create! ✌️&💙 my friend!
Hi Brother, Thank you very much. It's good to be slowly getting back in the swing of things and being able to do stuff again. As always thanks for the support and I hope to be making regular videos and joining the guitar building community soon.
Je hebt je zaakjes weer goed op orde Daniel, Wow! 👌🏻 Goed om te zien dat het weer beter met je gaat. En zoals tijdens ons laatste gesprek aangegeven, je bent altijd welkom om de hoek op nummer 2. 😉 Hartelijke groet, Gert Jan
I'm glad to see you are doing better. What a great shop tour. So organized and clean, I'm jealous! You've inspired me to steal some of your ideas for my own shop. That tool holder for your bench is brilliant! Take care, I can't wait to see what's next!!
Great to see you in good mood again! Your new workshop looks excellent and very inviting to work in. I saw the other video and agree that walking in the woods do wonders to your health.
Fantastic, very happy it’s all come together nicely for you workshop look amazing . You have such potential to become the best guitar building channel it’s already pretty special 👊🏻👊🏻 look forward to the new build many thanks for your time 👊🏻👊🏻
Glad to see you got workshop set up. Really like the organization of the hand tools, gonna rearrange my hand tools, like the french system. Looking forward to a your next guitar build.
I am glad you are able to get through this video. I enjoy your content. I am excited to hear you will be building soon as well. You are a very strong man. Good luck with everything!!
Welcome back Daniel! I've been following you for years and am glad to see you are on the up-swing. The new shop looks great and this video has given me some great ideas (now I just need to make the time to rebuild my own shop 🙂). I especially like the height adjustable workbench and the pulley system for the lights. Looking forward to your next guitar build.
Thanks for the tour, Daniel! You reminded me that a home workshop is not for work, it is for pleasure. Both a pleasure to have, and a pleasure to spend time in. I need to include the idea of just sitting, reading and enjoying a drink by the window in my workshop plans.
Very cool workshop, some very impressive storage solutions for tools and the workbench tool holder is such a clever idea, had to skip through though, couldnt commit to one hour of viewing 🤣
Beautiful workshop! I have one about the same size. I also think making it aesthetically pleasing is important as it does make me want to go in there when the weather is cold. I've struggled with wood storage over the past few years, as I'm a wood magpie & don't like throwing out offcuts (wood isn't cheap), so it quickly gets cluttered. The bins are a good system. Take them out & sort them each time they fill up. I think I'll adopt a similar approach.
Daniel, you look and sound great - as does your wonderful workshop! Can’t wait to see you in full flow again - Black Limba look out…!! Best wishes to you and yours! 🥰🥰🎸🎸🍷🍷
Great video, love your workshop, I plan on getting one of those Bosch Pillar drills shortly, I'll make sure I click through your link. Hope to see a new guitar build soon.
A fantastic and wonderful workshop which you made! Congratulation! You can be very proud of your handworking skills! I am really looking foreward to See new Guitar building videos! I really love to join your videos which seems to be lessons for me and I mean for all the watching people! Thank you in advance 😁 and I am very happy to see you loughing again! Very best regards from an Austrian Guitar Marker! 🤘, Roland
So good to ser you in your workshop. And what a workshop!! Love every single corner, every single detail you are showing us and explaining with such precission. A huge amount of work, and with added extra LOVE. And love to see you smiling. I'd love to be there! Huge hugs Daniel! You're doing GREAT!❤❤❤
I just found your channel a few weeks back and it's great. I watched your videos about mental health over the weekend and have been praying for you and hoping you'd get the calm you need to keep going and saw this vid posted just a few hours ago and what a great thing. I'm so proud and inspired as a builder and a human being by your openness, creativity, and willingness to teach. Shop looks fantastic and I'm super excited to watch your next guitar series! Congratulations!!!
Thank you very much for the compliment on the shop. I think the workshop is vacuumed more often than the living room. We'll use the upcoming guitar build as a challenge to keep it as tidy as it is now.
Fabulous to see you back Daniel. I’ve promised myself a guitar from you will be one of my retirement presents to myself. Few years to go yet, maybe I’ll order one before I retire too!
I really enjoyed watching your new workshop, which is not merely a place of tools and equipment but also nice place to hang out. Heel mooi en gezellig!
awesome workshop! dunno if anyone mentioned but those truss rods look to be stored in "mailing tubes", I've seen those used mostly for mailing out posters
Great to see you back, the shop looks outstanding! The news related to your drum/thickness sander is a bummer, I have had my Laguna 16/32 for 2 years now with no issues at all. Looking forward to future content, Thank you!
Hey, Thank you very much for the compliment. The defect drum sander is a bummer indeed. Every time I need to use it it breaks down. Unfortunately it's a very frequent occurring issue. So much so the dealer won't sell them anymore until the issue is fixed. Another major problem with so many breaking down is that there are no more spare parts available anywhere. Unfortunately it won't get fixed anytime soon and possibly even never, especially if Laguna decides the European market is to small to bother.
Wow, I work part time at a Woodcraft store here in Colorado and we sell a lot of Laguna belt sanders. I'm going to check with the boss next time I go in to work to see if he has heard of any belt sander issues, (I myself have never heard any). I know several wood workers who use the Jet belt sanders and they love them, I went with the Laguna because of the quick lift lever and I think it was also 100$ less. I hope you can find a suitable solution , Good Luck!@@UnquendorGuitars
I like that adjustable workbench. I'm actually starting to work with a partner and I'm setting up an auxiliary workbench for him, so he can work outside my shop, in the common area. I'm thinking of a rolling workbench, but now I wonder if it would be goo to also think of an adjustable heigh feature. But I guess it would have to have a hand crank, as it will be a moving bench on wheels. I also have the Bosch drill press, but my experience with it is not positive, I regret to say. The shaft wiggles on my drill press, which is unlike any other drill press I've even had. I'm not sure if I got a defective one or if all of these models are like that. The other thing I don't like is the very short distance between the vertical column and the center of the drill. There's really not enough distance to drill holes around the center area of guitars, such as the holes for the post for a trem bridge, etc. I got that drill press specifically for guitar building, and now it's collecting dust, so I am back to using my milling machine as a drill press.
Wow.. this is a dream workshop for any guitar builder or wood worker, I am really impressed about how many tools to put in that little area and how well organised everything is. What brand is that blue fret press you have ? Thanks for a great video. :D
Hi, I honestly don't know the brand. I think it's a generic, most likely, Chinese made press that is sold by many companies under different brand names.
I love the cleat wall! I am going to replace my peg board with this for sure! I particularly love the plane shelves. What’s the spacing you used for your cleats and how wide are they? Are they different widths? My workshop is in a small space too so I’m always looking for and thinking about efficient storage. Great looking shop! Great to see you n there!
Those adjustable height work lamps are a fantastic idea! I clicked on your link to buy the metric Incra protractor and they are "currently unavailable", are you getting them back in soon?
Hi, Unfortunately I'm not the vendor. The link in the video description is an affiliated link to Amazon to help my viewers find the tools I'm using and by doing so I get a very small fee from Amazon if someone makes a purchase. I wish I had the means to set a shop by myself to provide my viewers with some useful, good quality tools. If you're still looking for a metric protractor you could try Crimson Guitars they make a knock-off.
Is your French cleat wall flat to the wall? I was worried my cabin walls will expand and contract overtime and move the cleat strips causing problems. In the video I can see vertical strips but it looks like the actual cleat strips are not flush to the wall, maybe a few centre meters away. Have you had any issue with this? Thanks :)
If you have a similar cabin, it will indeed shrink and expand a lot over time. Mine has already shrunk a couple of centimeters. To compensate for this movement my cleat system has vertical strips where the horizontal cleats are attached to. The vertical strips are screwed into the same horizontal cabin beam at the top and at the bottom of the uprights I made a slotted hole with the screw just tight enough to hold the cleat system but stil allows for some movement, or when I notice the cleat system buckling I can loosen the screw and re-tighten as needed. I used a similar technique with everything I needed to fix to the walls on multiple horizontal beams.
I have a cabin and want to store my tools in it but it isn't insulated. I'm worried about really cold and hot months causing high humidity and rusting all the tools.. do you do anything to combat this issue or is it not as bad as I am thinking? Im in the UK aswell.
Humidity and condensation in particular may be indeed cause problems with rust forming on your tools in a shed that isn’t insulated or permanently heated. There are a couple of things to prevent rust for forming on your tools as much as possible. First make sure the shed is ventilated. Maintain your tools on a regular basis by applying a coat of wax or oil to all bare metal surfaces. Place a large enough moisture trap/absorber in your shed. I also had problems with rust forming on some of my tools last winter, but especially after placing a simple moisture trap in the shed I don’t experience any rust forming on my tools anymore. Hope this helps.
Hi Tim, I try to sell them. If you like you can check out my website (link in the description) to take a look at the guitar sI have currently in stock.

What a great workshop. I'm quite envious Daniel.
Ziet er goed uit Daniel. En goed je weer te zien!
Glad to see you got workshop set up. Really like the organization of the hand tools, gonna rearrange my hand tools, like the french system. Looking forward to a your next guitar build.
Man.... I've been waiting for this for ages :)
It would be useful to have a look at how you constructed things like your chisel racks etc! 😊😊
Hi Daniel, nice to see you back. Thanks for doing all of this. Amazing work as always. You're helping me a lot making my first guitar!
Pro setup and cozy! Love the new shop. Look forward to more Unquendor builds.

I highly appreciate your support.
This setup is insane! Very efficient use of space, beautiful design and a top quality build!
Good to see you back on your feet.
Well done on the workshop and great to see you back.
This is extremely weird of me, but I am jealous of your jars of dust. 😂
Welcome back Daniel! I've been following you for years and am glad to see you are on the up-swing. Daniel, nice to see you up and out. Totally understand and I’ll keep the prayers coming. I wish Bosch would sell those drills in the states.
The shop looks amazing! Can’t wait to see it in action!
Wonderful! Nice to see you up and running again :) Good luck with everything!
Hi Daniel,

Your shop looks great! Hoping you have great success and looking forward to seeing more builds from you.

Happy for your recovery man, looking forward to see more thumbs up :)
Awesome shop, glad to see it finally finished and you back in it. 😎
Some day I'll have a space that large.
Hey Daniel, dat heb je mooi gemaakt man, een serieus gezellige en super gave werkplaats. Gaaf! Groet, Peter.
Thanks for the tour, Daniel! You reminded me that a home workshop is not for work, it is for pleasure. Both a pleasure to have, and a pleasure to spend time in. I need to include the idea of just sitting, reading and enjoying a drink by the window in my workshop plans.

Fantastic to see you back Daniel. I have really missed your presence and builds. 😊😊😊😊
Welcome back brother. Beautiful shop. I'm now looking at spot lamps for above my bandsaw 😂😂

What a beautifully clean and organised workshop. I'm looking forward to you ruining all that with a guitar build! 😂
Thank you very much for the compliment on the shop.

Hey Gordon,

Be assured... I have a new guitar building video series planned. I'm not sure how or when but it's coming.
YAY!
awesome workshop! dunno if anyone mentioned but those truss rods look to be stored in "mailing tubes", I've seen those used mostly for mailing out posters
This has made my day. Welcome back, sir! The workshop looks amazing!
Welkom terug! Hoop dat je je ondertussen wat beter voelt. Mooie upgrade van je workshop
Hi Nittyguitar,
Het gaat gelukkig steeds iets beter en het is goed om weer een beetje bezig zijn in de werkplaats.
I was happy to see your f 4:15 ace again . I know you are in people's thoughts . Your shop is beautiful , I'm a little envious . Peace ✌

Hi Brian,
The cleats are +/- 44mm wide, just the standard width and are also spaced 44mm. I used a couple of off cuts as spacers.
Those adjustable height work lamps are a fantastic idea! I clicked on your link to buy the metric Incra protractor and they are "currently unavailable", are you getting them back in soon?

Hi Tim,
I try to sell them.
If you like you can check out my website (link in the description) to take a look at the guitar sI have currently in stock.
@@UnquendorGuitars I sell my guitars also. So far about 28 of 50 have sold. about 10 were given to friends.
Can you tell me the dimensions of the workbench?
Its the Sjöberg Duplex and the working surface is 1200x430mm
