    I think the lift chain bounching up and down probably would cause that puppy dog to miss connecting on occasion, My idea would be to put a spring loaded idler wheel at the base of the lift hill to keep that chain in a constant position when the cart approaches the lift hill!!

    I used to have the original original Knox coaster set. Not the serpent one but the one with the big track and orange track tube. It’s so interesting that the car modifications I made, made the knee car look very similar to yours with your chain puppy. Needed to make a custom piece to grab onto the chain and then the main dog would do the heavy lifting. I am in love with this channel so far! Thanks for sharing! I think it is so awesome you made it out of tubular steel! I understand it’s much more expensive but it is so much cooler. Great work. Ever changing snider putting a cool control panel on the ride and a control box by the track so the rider could push a start button? :)

    On most coasters there's a chain guide that usually starts just before the transition from horizontal to vertical. Ricochet at kings dominion does have a similar issue with the chain sticking out above the track when a car isn't engaged on the lift however.

    I reminded when I use to work for a theme park and yes the big coasters miss the chain on the first car every so often. and you would hear it and the coaster had anti roll backs. the chain was in like a little groove for the ride up hill you would still get a "chain skip". and the wood coaster we had it would never do the because the chain was moving at like 5 rpm until the train was on the lift than it was floor it something like 300 rpm or something like that. that was it would never miss the chain dogs.

    You should build a station and booster wheels for a fully automated ride

    Can you make a coaster with a near vertical lift Hill (like a Gurslauer Eurofighter)

    You shud add two trains for better operations I hate the hour lines😂😂. But really it would be cool for two trains but u will have to extend the break run and also another thing u said do over time is add a catwalk along the lift that would be VERY COOL and if it had lights or even a cool light package

      Just building another cart would be great fun! It would be super interesting to see how the ride would change from one cart to another. When they changed the trains at SFMM Revolution it transformed the ride completely!

      He would need some sort of blocking system to keep the carts spaced apart to avoid collisions which is typically done using brakes and a PLC computer system.

    If ya look at a rollercoaster in a park the chain sits in its own channel, it also doesn't stand iff the track like yours does thats how it works first time every time .... the chain needs to go with the curve ... i would either start the chain a bit further up or make a channel just for the chain to sit in

      I'm going to be doing that video very soon! We're getting an extra cool PVC Bending tool that we're going to be incorporating into those videos. It's in transit now and should be here any day! So stay tuned and click the Bell thingy so you get notified :)

      I think about making an inversion all day, every day! Check out my instagram (@willpemble) and you'll find a recent post where I drew a full-scale clothoid loop design on the driveway. Now, all I have to do is convince Liz to let me buy enough steel to build it! Gotta make that sucker WAY strong!

    This is really interesting! :) Just wondering, do you have an anti rollback system on the lift?

    • @worldwidewrestling2639
      @worldwidewrestling2639 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thatsmallcessna the chain dog is the anti roll back system as when the chain stops working the chain dog is caught on one of the chains causing the cart to stop instead of roll back.

    Hi will could you tell me how does the friction brake work

  • @ZoniesCoasters
    @ZoniesCoasters 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    So I know you're wanting to add an inversion to this and I know that you wanted to go with a hartline roll. I feel like you should go with a loop first because it would be so much easier for you to manufacture vs the roll which has to rotate on a particular axis that isn't even physical on the track. Only problem I see with the vertical loop is that you would have to make a major change to the layout to make it fit in

      Hi Billy,
      In this case, the wheel assembly just runs into the ground. Nothing fancy :)
      For the finished coaster, we're gonna stop it with the magic of magnetic fields!
      That's gonna be seriously cool!

    • @WillPemble
      @WillPemble  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jay Money!
      I love the electric scooter idea!
      Might be a challenge to build one strong enough. The chain lift motor is 2hp and it should be 3 or 4. Most scooters have 1/4hp motors. But I’ll give it a think to be sure!
