  • 6G welding test with tig fill and cap pass on a 3" XXH wall, with a full tig welding procedure.
    6G is where the pipe is fixed at a 45-degree angle and welded in this fixed position.
    So, it basically covers flat, horizontal, vertical welding, and overhead in a single position.
    In this video, I will break down the steps to pass the 6G position test, starting with the root pass, and in the second video, I will show the steps from fill passes to finish with a multi-pass cap.
    The pipe welding techniques used, and the welding procedure is also identical to the AWS D1.1 and ASME Section IX welder performance qualification (WPQ) pipe welding certification. As per ASME Section IX.
    #tig #tigwelding #6G
    All of my videos are recorded at working sites in various locations and different welding positions.
    90% of my welding projects in videos are x-rayed, and if you like to see hands-on projects, welcome!
    If you liked this video please give it a thumbs up, share it, subscribe and click the bell.
    It doesn’t cost you anything but massively helps my TH-cam channel. Thank you.

    What was your amperage on the cap? Did you let the pipe cool before the cap? I always undercut that last bead. Can’t seem to get away from it.

    Excellent video so when u start to fill the sides u start at top first and stack down? Is this the same in the 2g position? Thanks bro

    • @X3MTIG
      @X3MTIG  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey bud thanks for the comment. It all depends from the fit up and how it turns out after the root pass, but generally I always go from the bottom part and do fill passes to the top part, that’s for 6G. In 2G position after the root pass I generally start at the top part first, bottom, and run one through the middle.

    We had a van pull up to a facility and try to jab everyone in the plant the other week. I stayed inside the boiler and ate a peanut butter and jelly and pissed in a couple water bottles till the end of the day. I swear they want you to become a 5g antenna 📡 for the devil 🤘. I ain't doing that shit. Very nice weld BTW
