What brand would you suggest for a small, under counter maker that can keep the ice frozen and stop producing when the bin is at capacity?

No ice in my machine, inlet water is coming in, but not making it to the pump. Water is coming out from behind the icemaking gear, and just falling into the bin. Is there an exploded view of this machine that I can look at to consider where this is coming from and if it can be fixed?

Great video. Thank you. We have model 50BAJ. Ours appears to be pumping plenty of water and draining as well. But ice production has dramatically reduced in the last week. I took out many of the internal parts as shown in this video. Cleaned them. Cleaned small plastic filter at the water line entrance and nothing appears to have changed. It runs for a very long time before dropping ice ever 50-60min. Thus, resulting in very low ice production. Any thoughts? Thank you

I have this exact icemaker, and it won’t stop making black ice. I think it’s a worn out evaporator. Can you replace those or do you just buy a new machine?

I would start with a thorough cleaning, should do the trick.

@@REFRIGERATIONKITCHENEQTECH unfortunately I’ve already done the clean and sanitize cycles twice and it’s still happening. Finally called a repairman today. He’s saying bearings. Mine was in storage 2.5 years and I think the heat broke down whatever it’s made of so it’s disintegrating slowly into the ice.

There is a screw kind of hidden that hold the cover than you have access to the pump. I think to wire the pump you need to take the top off but Can’t remember

My AM-50B stopped making ice. Water kept running and never stopped. The Water valve in the top of the machine was clogged. Bought a new one on amazon(76dollars) and replaced. Part#458548-01.

How did you know it was clogged? Mine is barely making ice after running for a very long time. I have a 50BAJ model. Mine appears to pump water perfectly fine. Thank you

These ice machines are dumbed down. They don't have a way of sensing water level. They have a predefined time to fill and if its not getting the proper amount, no ice will form, the pump will just struggle until it burns out.. One time I found one of these making ice when pulled out of the wall but when pushed in no ice. Guess what.
Great troubleshooting. Your voice is almost muted during the schematic discussion and then it gets loud in action.

I have a issue with the same unit. I have plenty of water. We changed the filter turned system back on and no ice is being made. Could this be a refrigeration problem. Or how long does it take to start making ice thanks

20-30 minutes I think on that one. If the evaporator isnt getting cold then you may have a refrigeration issue

The bad thing about Ice machine troubleshooting is the time it takes to troubleshoot the problem. Like you mentioned it takes a long wait and watch time to be 100% sure about the problem and the repair.

Yes, but I’ll take a thorough tech over a fast tech any day of the week. Call backs start becoming an issue. I’ve been guilty of this when we are slammed with service calls, but learnt it’s not worth skipping steps and leaving.

I have the exact same machine. They need to be cleaned at least twice/year. It's a pain in the ass but needs to be done. Pray the drain pump doesn't fail. 700.00

That’s just a typical coil brush you can pick up from United refrigeration. The spray is from refrigeration technologies and it’s called “Viper” spray

How do you check the water pressure or where would you do that?

There should be a gauge at the water filter, but you can see when it fills if the pressure is not enough

Yes we get quite a few calls for these. Rarely is it a refrigeration problem, meaning the issue is cheap/easy to resolve
