I am new to bow hunting I am having trouble. I want to reach out to ask a few questions. First I picked up a mathews solocam switchback. 28 inch draw length. 70 lbs draw weight. My questing is arrows. I have gold tip 340 spin with 125gr feild tip. What would be a good broadhead or complete arrow and head set up ? Btw I watch all yalls videos keep them coming I am learning alot

Love these types of videos! I’m needing a new bow this year and have always shot Hoyt so these videos are very informative for me. I’m still shooting the alpha max lol. It’s been a great bow and never let me down but it’s pretty wore out to say the least! Thanks for going over your setup, it makes my decision a little easier!

Loved this video. Long time fan. I have been seeing a lot, and I mean a lot, of heavy arrow content lately. Hearing you talk about it, really drives it home. I was surprised to see the mechanical on the end of a heavyish arrow, and I’d be very interested to see how it performs on animals. I can see me adding a 100 grain insert on my arrows and having close to the same thing as you got going on. Thanks again!

3/16” G5 Meta peep, Trophy Ridge Fix7 7 pin sight, 8” Fuse Stabilizer, 6 arrow Fuse Maxxis quiver, Tru Ball 4 Finger Max Pro thumb release
Arrows are 26” Gold Tip White Zebra 300 Spine, 100 grain brass insert and a 125gr Grim Reaper Razorcut 1-3/8” 3 blade mechanical. 3 blazer vanes on a right helical. 538 grains and 15% FOC

Very awesome setup man! I was wondering if I could get some tips on shooting a back tension release? I've never tried one, now I'm really wanting to because I had a severe finger injury to my trigger finger back in June, and although it's mostly healed, I've lost a lot of my nerves and shooting a my Tru Ball Beast release is very awkward.

I'm going with a longbow this year with a plain old stick on rest. Right around 50 at my draw length (32.75 give or take a hair) throwing some old school aluminum arrows, total weight 710 grains, 13% FOC, moving at 153fps. Slow but it hits like a truck inside of 25 and from 10 to 25 I can hold the same gap and hit a 3 inch circle regardless of the distance.

Fr.. My back up bow has a broke limb...and now my hunting bow has a hairline crack...(both bear bows...wish I would have spent my money on a Hoyt)/but do you think I can make it through hunting season or do you have any tricks on how to repair that until I can get a better bow or limbs?

Wish I knew more about FOC in arrows. What is it? Purpose, how it will change arrow flight, etc. I am a basic archer. I went to a local archery shop, bought recommended arrows and slapped a decent broadhead on it. Then, tune the site in to match the dozen arrows I bought. So, That is where my knowledge is. (zero). PS.. love the man cave.

I am unable to buy the more expensive ones but I believe it will serve me well. I am running an Apex Covert pro dot sight with a a Truglo quick fire release. I am also running a Leopold Vendetta 2 bow mounted rangefinder. I am running into a bit of a problem with the tillt. With my quiver and arrows on the bow still leans to the left. Iv been shooting a hoyt for 15yrs, just made a change. I spend more time in a press or shooting through paper than I do outside. Dear hoyt, please implement cam rotation/sync marking on your cams. No problem with asymmetry of your cams, but to check ata, brace height, peak weight and let off just to see if my cans are in rotation... kinda silly

@@T-boneoutdoors I agree that getting drawstops to hit at the same time is very straight forward. For me it's the retarding/advancement of the cams without any visual reference that I dont care for. Hoyt makes incredible bows, I'm sure I'll be back when they can dumb it down for a guy like me

Hey T-Bone, I’m currently running 55-56 lbs on all 3 of my compounds with a 400 spine & 125 broadhead. Arrow is roughly 430 grains. DL is 28”, you think i could bump up to 60 lbs without changing my set-up?
