- There was a time when Travis “T-Bone” Turner was afraid to pull back a bow. That was long before making a name for himself as a world champion 3D tournament archer and hunting personality on popular Realtree TV shows and videos, of course. But when Turner was 10 years old, his dad bought him a bow for having good grades in school.
“It was a 45-pound recurve and I didn’t have the strength at the time to pull it to full anchor,” Turner says. “Like so many people, I had a bad experience being introduced to archery. I went through the motions, but convinced I just wasn’t strong enough to pull a bow, I put it down pretty quickly.”

T bone is a legend, very great human being.

Lots of good memories of binge watching the old Monster Buck videos. The archery competitions with T-bone were always a highlight!
Man all your reminisces bring back so many memories as a kid, anytime I bring up incomplete deer hunter in conversation everyone gives me confused looks. I can't find dvds of the incomplete deer hunter 1-3 anywhere. Love ya T-Bone hope you're doing well with recent situations

I tell you what T-Bone I lost my Uncle Mark to Covid in 2020 and he was one of the good old boys that taught me a lot about hunting along with my dad. The work you and the boys do just fills that void and makes me want to get out there and hunt. All I got left is hunting, guitar, my family and god! Keep on making videos because I love ‘em!

T.Bone! I am 72 years old and started with a Fred Bear Kodiak recurve and progressed. Watched everything I could and went to every show I could get to. Met them all. But let me tell you that you are the best of the best. I thank God for you in the life you have had and the young people snd others you have set a positive way for. Forget the pro athletes they can’t compete with you on a human bases with people. Your the Truth snd Real

I been watching t bone hunts since my kids were babies. Just dropped my eldest to college 2 weeks ago.
My prayers are with you T Bone. I have a young daughter battling cancer also with 3 small kids and I know God’s going to heal her to be able to raise her kids and you to be able to keep hunting and entertaining us your fans God Bless

Yep I remember buying my first compound bow at a pawn shop in 2001. Did buy another one brand new till 2014 and still have both of them . Slayed lots of deer .and still going.

I've been a big bone collector fan since you Michael and Nick started it I was a big bow hunter and tournament shooter back in the mid 90s until 2012 can't do it anymore cause of arthritis flair ups I could hunt with a criss bow but it's not the same I muzzleload hunt now really have gotten into that but my passion was archery and was good at it won several tournaments I still work with kids and adults about archery and love it so thanks for the inspiration guys and the great videos 1 day hope to meet you 3 and shake your hand

I met T Bone at Nichols Store in Rock Hill South Carolina several years back and I still think about it to this day he was exactly the same way in person as he was on camera and he even shared my pic on Facebook heck of a guy.

T-bone is the same in person as he is on tv. I was fortunate enough to meet him at the national turkey federation show in Nashville a few years back. I was actually a little nervous after watching him on realtree and bone collector for so many years but even though I didn't say much he talked to me like he had known me for years. So did edwin, micheals dad. I have alot of respect for him and I'm glad realtree produced this video.
That’s an awesome story. I know T-bone will likely not read this but what if you never would have shot that tournament 5 days after getting a bow. I always say I think the best in the world at things never did it because of fear of failure. Obviously it take practice and work to be the best in the world at something but most people never start because they are to afraid of failing. BTW I absolutely loved the story!!!!
