New 3D scanning and printing technology allowed researchers to build a prosthetic tail for a disabled alligator. To learn more about Mr. Stubbs' story, please read on: on.natgeo.com/2KSbctW

I don't understand alligators are an invasive species that has taken over the Florida everglades and ruin thousands of ecosystem. Why not just kill it rather than spend so much money on 1 animal. When you could have donated to conservation and literally saved at let a dozen of animals that actually need saving?

If you are ever in Arizona go visit him at the sanctuary, that place is incredible and has amazing animals and wonderful staff, i got to meet Stubbs and also feed the tortoises both with the tour group and later i got to get in the pen with them and feed them as i know some of the staff. They really need donations and volunteers to help keep it going, so please if you’re in the area and can help I recommend it, its such an awesome experience!!

I read a lot about gators and crocodiles and I hope you found this useful alligators tend to be more scared and more defensive and more a lot more calmer than a crocodile. Crocodiles are a lot more agressiveley compared to alligators so that's probably why Mr Stubbs is not attacking or he knows the person very well and trusts him but that is most likely not the case cause alligators can't be trained like that
