Long time coming for one of the all time greats. I was very fortunate to get to watch Jagr play for tbe penguins when i was growing up. We all wanted to be like him as kids.

A vidíš on hraje ještě hokej v extralize a já už v 45 letech dávno nehraju. Je to borec, je to legenda a těch se u nás v malé zemi ve středu evropy rodí málo, tak jednou za 50 let. Jsem hrdý čech, evropan. Škoda že ten čas tak letí. Čau

I was thinking that too. Sign him for a min contract. Let him play a shift or two with the 4th line or with Sid and Geno. Totally would be worth the memory haha. I’m sure he’s still in shape haha.
Imagine the views that game would get lol

No, he owns and plays for a team in czech, technically not in the nhl anymore though. Call it a soft retirement

Malkin for sure - certainly shouldn’t have re-signed him. Letang still getting it done but maybe a little less often

They got us three cups. The window is closed. They couldn't have done more for us. If they want to ride off into the sunset as Pens, let them. If they want to go elsewhere, they can request trades and help restock the cupboard. 71 and 58 will be in the HoF and in the rafters at the arena. Let them go out their own way. Sid wants them both there. I hear you, but that 2015-2017 stretch was unforgettable. I've been kinda out of sports since 2020, but occasionally tune in and follow the stories about them. They've earned the right to go out on their own terms.

@@chrisg7731 letang had nothing to do with their final cup. Matter of fact. Penguins were better without letang. His entire career...letang has been over rated!!

@@dalezegarelli5553 Listen, for the longest time I believed Chris Pronger was the best defenseman I ever watched. Everyone said Lidstrom, and I wasn't having it because Lidstrom brought absolutely 0 physical presence to the game. Then in Sid's Spittin Chiclets interview, he says that Lidstrom was the best Dman he ever played against, by far.
The point I'm getting at is that I will trust Sid's intuition on players. He vouched for Letang and wants him around? Then who am I to say the team is better off without him?
Also, just because Letang didn't play in the playoffs doesn't mean he had nothing to do with it. He played 41 games that year. His name is on the cup. Dude plays 30 mins a game. He's arguably the best skater in the league. He did something for the team.

@@chrisg7731 sound reasoning!! Researched conclusion! I agree 100%. Cannot argue the success of the penguins. The veteran core of this team deserves their place with penguins. But.. sometimes management must step in and make decisions about what's good for the TEAM!
