  • As we reminisce about the illustrious career of Jaromir Jagr, it's undeniable that he remains one of the most legendary figures in NHL history. However, since his departure from the NHL nearly a decade ago, Jagr's presence in the hockey world has seemingly dwindled, leaving many to wonder what he's been up to. Has he disappeared completely, or is there more to the story?

Come to the Czech republic, you might be able to see him play here :D At this point, he has 14 games played (out of 47) and 4 assists. The fact his team is dead last doesn't help the stats though.

@@KapitanPisoar1 Top 5 forwards, 100%. The first things people think of these days are his early years as Mario's sidekick, the mullet and his comeback playing in his 40s, which were really cool, but don't do justice to how good he REALLY was. The version of Jagr from 1997-2001 and his first season with NYR was peak Jagr. After he added the sick wrister and the one-timer bomb, he was unstoppable. People forget how insanely good he was because he didn't win any Cups on his own, so he'll always be remembered as Mario's sidekick and the old guy who came back and exceeded expectations, unfortunately

@@Josenio I used to wonder why (with the exception of some playoff games) there are virtually NO regular season Pens games posted on here from when Jaromír was in his prime (other than Pens games after Mario came back) Until, that is, I saw an interview they did with his father back in 2008 after he’d left the NHL the first time. According to his father, at some point in 2000, Jaromír was bluntly told that North Americans DID NOT WANT him to be the “face” of the NHL, that the league was NEVER going to tolerate him dominating the NHL the way 99 & Mario had (& he was showing he was perfectly capable of doing so. At the end of Dec ‘99 he’d been on pace to score 70-80 goals, rack up 170-180 points & finish 40-50 points ahead of the entire rest of the league in the scoring race, until the refs put away their whistles and the league declared Open Season on him) and that the North American media was NEVER going to give him credit for how great of a player he was. And they NEVER did. By all rights he should have 3 Hart Trophies to his name, not one. He was screwed over by the press in ‘99-‘00 & ‘05-‘06

This should be good co last season. He is more off ice than on and you can clearly see that his appearance is not positive for his team. You may wish but you cannot stop age. Not yet.

I am from Czech republic and here is huge controversy going on about Jagr and his indirect support of Russsian invasion of Ukraine. But I have to defend Jágr on this one. He is not actually hopping on ice when he doesn't think he can help his team at that time (Kladno is very short of players right now) and he said this in multiple Czech interviews.

Had the priviledge to see #68 on ice last season. I was extatic until the point he appeared on the PP shift. He's good, very good, but PP shift, no, thank you. Right now, he's mikling his legacy bone dry and it's getting sad...
