Sur-Ron X Chain Drive Conversion | How To Make The E-Moto More Reliable

- In an effort to make the Sur-Ron more reliable off-road, I decided to ditch the stock belt drive system. In it's place is a full chain-drive conversion that uses a 13-tooth front gear and 30-tooth jack-shaft gear. The biggest draw is I know have a D.I.D 420 D motorcycle chain keeping me moving. I purchased my setup through eBay early this year (2021). It was stupid expensive compared to the one Luna Cycle sells, but Luna didn't have anything in stock. I would recommend buying it through them (or wherever you can get the best deal with quality parts).

Awesome brother! I just replaced the belt but should’ve got the chain conversions 👌🏽 I hit that sub button too, so close to 1000 man!!! 🚀
Thank you!
Was your bike harder to roll, with the chain drive? I had a shop install my chain conversion and since then it feels like my rear tire has a ton of resistance to spin
I haven’t noticed it being harder to roll. It’s much louder, but that’s the only real difference.
@@Ali_Mansour_Editor ok thanks, I think the shop put my primary drive chain too tight….
That’s most likely due to the fact that the primary chain probably uses orings, just like stock chain. Orings cause resistance.
The luna 219 kit is garbage, you did yourself a favor. Also, you should actually be getting slightly better range. A belt is only around 80% efficient, whereas a chain is 95%.
That’s good to know on the Luna kit. As soon as my shoulder heals, I’m heading back to the mountains with the bike. It will be interesting to compare the range.
