    Ed, a consummate professional, and highly skilled in answering every question posed. Very down to earth with me and my 6.0 diesel issues. Advice worth every minute.

    I just replaced my ficum. No check engine light no codes. The truck just started miss firing and would only go 15mph. The truck started just fine and all the ficum powers were correct. I used a dvom to check power at each injector plug and found 35 volts on two of the wires and pulsating 25 volts on the other two wires. Check while running. This is good. The three cylinders that were misfiring the volts were 48 on one 10 flashing randomly on the other and pulsating 20 volts on the other two. Put a used ficum in problem fixed runs great no codes.

    how do you tell if the logic side is good I have trouble starting truck when cold ficm volts are 48 i get 500 psi volts are .9
    i got sync but it wont start also have 2 contribution balance codes 1 cylinder misfire code crankshaft code and ecm/processor code. I know sometimes when cranking and cranking you can throw a crank/cam sensor code but as for pcm Im not to sure and couldnt reallly find any info on it as far as the injector codes im waiting on new injectors to come in but I hope it was the injectors and not a pcm or ficm issue what are your thoughts

      If the truck runs great after it does start with the singular exception of the contribution/balance code you mention and your FICM main power numbers are staying at 48!even during this elongated cranking, your FICM is not the cause of your issue. Our guess? Sticking injectors.

    I'm going to need a new FICM soon; my Livewire says 12.5 - 14 volts on both FICM voltages. For how long are your FICM's warranteed? What separates your product from an untuned OEM unit or one from another upgraded/premium diesel house product?

      That voltage cannot possibly be FICM voltage if it runs any at all. It won't run at all below ~37v. Healthy voltage is above 47v.

    These fail all the time until they are replaced by an upgraded/updated model.

    Thanks for the help with my ficm feycm fuckem, but whats your personal take on sprayn windex? ive got a kit I ripped off my boosted ls6 other then need new controller, and jets . all i read is diesels love it, lower egts 70 more hp better mpg and so on. numbers seem a tad inflated and I mainly had troubles with it not distributing evenly per cylinder and tuning was a pita on my china choo choo gasser, but would that even matter on a diesel?Or only will see noticeable gains towing or bigger sticks, the stoich ratio on these things vs gas is remarkable.

    I almost always have to crank then key off and re crank to get the truck to start when it’s cold. Been like that for 8 years! Could that be a ficm problem?

      @ficmrepair  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes. To be sure, we’d want you to check your FICM Main Power key on engine off and during cranking to ensure it doesn’t drop below 46 volts. Note that it may also be as a result of running a non-inductive FICM tune.

    On my ScanGuage II, my FICM Main Power (FMP) reads 30+ volts until my truck is fully warmed up (185°) wherein the FMP climbs back up to 45.5-46.5v. Truck runs great otherwise.
    Can anyone tell me if this is normal?

    • @ficmrepair
      @ficmrepair  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      This is not normal. Quite sadly, your FICM is on its way out. We’d suggest checking your alternator and batteries as causes for your FICM’s demise and then either sending your FICM in to be repaired or getting one on exchange.

    I have hot starting issues as a main symptom

    • @ficmrepair
      @ficmrepair  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If your main symptom is a hot no start or a hot hard start, I'd suggest taking a look at your IPR Duty cycle while cranking to ensure that it is NOT stuck at 84% or 85%, If it is and if your ICP voltage is not getting over 1 volt, your issue is related to high pressure oil.
