Hi! Thanks for posting the tutorial. I get to the part about partitioning the SD card and get stuck. I cannot locate the section that shows Bios, Roms or CFW. I can't find it on the original SD or my replacement. What am I doing wrong?
Great question! I think it should be. You probably wouldn’t need roofus and the mini partition tool, you might be able to use Mac’s disk utility instead I’m thinking. But I’ve never done it.
You'll need to do a dual-SD card setup. Just use Balena Etcher on a Mac to image the software on one MicroSD card. Balena Etcher will make your GarlicOS card, and Disk Utility can format your ROM microSD with the following format: Fat32 with Master Boot Record.
Hey, Techie Housewife! I'm not that great at this kinda stuff but determined to figure this out. I've been running into some problems that I'm hoping you or someone can help me out with. First off, When I open Rufus and select the garlic.img, It won't let me select "Multiple Partitions" (or anything) under "device." Also won't let me select anything under "Partition Scheme" or "Target System" ...Do you know why this is? What do I need to do? Thanks so much for any help! :)
Hello, The multiple partition that you see on my video is because I am using an sd card that already had some OS and multiple partitions. Also even for me all the other drop downs are greyed out and not selectable. If you don’t see anything under the “device” drop down means your SD card is not mounted for some reasons. Can you open minitool partition wizard and see if any drive letter is assigned to the sd card.
Hi! Thanks for responding! In Rufus, there is a drop down enabled for “Device,” although the only option there is the same one that is selected which is, “NO LABLE (D:) [64 GB].” ….In Mini tool partition wizard the SD card is labeled as Disk 2 - GPT 59.51 GB and the only partition labeled with a letter is the second one labeled with a D, but the FAT32 partition and the others have no letter labels. This is before I flash the garlic OS to the card btw. And when I have flashed to the SD card on my last try at this, I only would see one folder called…I think it was called “modules?” Let me know what I should do. 😊 Thanks for your help so much! I really want to accomplish this, at least for my own sanity haha! 😊
Okay cool, I guess the sad card is labeled with a D on the actual file, I was looking at it was called in mini tool partition wizard. ….okay, I did that but then when I go to the SD card I only see a “modules” folder along with a bunch of other files (some compressed). Shouldn’t I be seeing the BIOS, CFW and Roms folders as well?
Please, tell us where to put bios files assuming we have them? Bios folder is empty, shall we create subfolders there? How should we name them? I've just put a ps1 bios there, but the system doesn't see it. Then I've created "PS" subfolder, the result is the same
Roms, Bios and CFW should be copied into the ROMS Partition. Then you should be able to add bios and Roms to each perspective folder. Is that what you are doing? I don’t believe you need to create any other folders or subfolders. I’m not what else to do. This works for me.
Once you have the SD card in and it’s opened in explorer, go to tools then select folder options and select show hidden files, folders and drives. That should work.

It doesnt start up with this sd card. I just have to plug it into slot one and remove the other sd card right?
I’m pretty sure you can just insert the new card, I don’t think you really have to remove the other one. 😃👍🏽👾🕹️

In the mini tool partition wizard how many partitions do you see? Also, you may have to assign a drive letter as I mentioned in my video.
this is great, any idea how to play GameCube games on this device ?
Great question! I don’t think it’s powerful enough to play GameCube games. But it’s definitely still a great and fun device 😃👾🕹
Good video, keep the good work.☺☺☺☺
Thank you 😊👾🕹
Great video, thanks!
Thank you 😊👾🕹
It really is a great little device. Can you imagine if this had come out around the time of the RG280V?
Yes it is! This is definitely the better value for the money compared to the RG280V. 🤩🤩
Hi! How many total preloaded games on garlicOs?
I don’t think it comes with any games . 😊👾🕹
Thank you question did you install super mario world on it? because i dont have it on my rg35xx
I think it depends on where you buy from. Some come with games and some don’t, and the selection of games would also depend on the retailer. 😊
is this possible to do on a MAC? i do not have a pc unfortunately

Pretty sure you can resize the partition instead of deleting and recreating it.
You can do that, this way is just to avoid the confusion of doing that. 😊👍🏽👾🕹

@TransCube I’m not sure what the problem could be. Let me see if someone knows the answer.
One quick question, are you placing the bios in the root of the bios folder where the Rom files are located (on the SD card)
@TransCube So happy you got it figured out. Hope you enjoy it.
how to unhide the misc folder?
Once you have the SD card in and it’s opened in explorer, go to tools then select folder options and select show hidden files, folders and drives. That should work.
