    Thanks . You taught me something with how you start your seam by pulling the tape ahead of the tack strip . I like that . I’ve always did mine a little different but much rather do it that way . Thanks for sharing

      FloorsbySouthernboys oh my, I didn't even think of that. That's probably why it worked in incognito. It's always the smallest detail that makes the biggest difference.

    I wonder do you seal your seams we do every carpet because if there is any kind of problem the rep from the mill comes and they use a black light and the latex seam sealer shows up because it keeps the yarn from the carpet together I was just wondering if you do and if you don't why don't you I love your work you're very talented but I just wanted your opinion keep up the good work I look forward to every video you do I've been installing for over 30 years I work for Lowe's Contracting flooring every type of floor

      99% of the time i dont seam seal stretch in , only if the backing feels brittle like it might break or crumble at the touch, however i do seam seal 100% of glue down jobs

    The frieze with the dark and light twists used to be the easiest thing to straight edge and seam now you often get dark ones next to dark ones on both pieces. I have not been able to get one side only light ones. I have been using those big nitting needles for awhile, they work great.

    Im having this struggle. Working for a place that sells speckled everything. Running rows is tough for me with bad vision. Is there another method? Maybe serpentine straight edge?

    • @FloorsbySouthernboys
      @FloorsbySouthernboys  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Some people say, they have luck with a serpentine straight edge, but I cannot recommend it

      @@FloorsbySouthernboys thanks for the help much appreciated. Could possibly list the pros n Conn's? It seems to me this would eliminate the fighting crooked rows together which is the main reason I stopped row cutting. It's always felt like a bad technique.

    • @FloorsbySouthernboys
      @FloorsbySouthernboys  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Joaquin Martinez I use the same kind of razor blades in my Row cutter as I do in my carpet knife and I use the round edge orcon Knife blades, although some people choose to use the square blades, I guess it’s just a personal preference

    Speaking of a sore thumb ouch . I have good luck cutting my seams at an angle . Starting 5 or 6 inches one end down to an inch then using a row cutter and my straight edge as a guide. No over lap or gaps and the dots don’t line up.

    You have the same problem with speackled Frazis carpet but it’s impossible to run a row in that carpet.

    • @FloorsbySouthernboys
      @FloorsbySouthernboys  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Terence Harley I will agree some of that for say is nearly impossible to run a row in , I’m not sure if you seen my latest video on the new role finders that I have I’m sure that that big fat one is going to work on that I am kind of excited to actually lay some Frize carpets I’m not sure if that’s how you spell it but I think you know what I’m talking about,
