It would be nice if everyone would take such care and do such a professional job.
Your instructional videos are awesome. You're a good teacher. Good camera angles and walkthrough instructions to help understand your goals and reasons for doing what your doing. Thanks!!!
thank you sir.
Do you have a video on pattern recognition like you use here to align the 2 seams?
That is different on every piece of carpet, it is something that the individual just has to spot for themselves.
Nice work here, thanks for all the tips.
😀👍
Did you actually go over the top of all that old adhesive!?
Say it ain't so....
Yet another excellent demonstration.
You are a true professional sir.
Jim Leishman thank you sir
Cracking job....plenty dolla on that job i bet
U take pride in your work good job brother
William Rhoden Yes sir, thank you
I use it all the time on Berber even have one for tight fiber piles great tool
Manufacturers require uav seam sealers....crazy how much flooring installation has changed...running the blue light special at kmart lol....u do decent work though!
Jerrid Hawkins lol I used a commercial carpet seam sealer and not all seam sealers have UV tracing in it because of if someone was wanting to put carpet in a nightclub or something like that where there was going to be black lights they would not want their seems to show up under the lighting henceforth not all sealers have GV Tracy, I have never seen a commercial carpet sealer that does have UV Tracy, even some of the thermal sealers don’t have EV tracing, thank you for watching Though and thank you for the compliment
Great job! You fellas are the real pros.
thank you
This very carpet I've laid many big jobs and the sewing will cause problems especially on 50 ft + seams!!!
Fred Towns 👍
Good explanations thus far from any other instructors keeping it simple for quality in a job!
😀👍
Thanks for the video. Would you use the same method on a long seam out in the field? I'm laying a commercial carpet in my basement and was going to do a doublecut, but there's quite a pattern to it. (so I've been delaying the install) The carpet get's real thin along the edges and there's an odd pattern of white dots along one edge. Didn't know if there was a special purpose to that.
A long seam needs to be row cut, I have multiple videos of that and you will need to cut over into your carpet enough until it feels nice and full, the white yarns showing on the ends of the carpet it’s just part of the salvage edge which will be cut off when you Make your seam
@@FloorsbySouthernboys I realize now the mistake I made. I cut both 18' lengths of carpet, but didn't consider any shift on the second piece to pattern match. Hopefully I get lucky.
Loving the beard !
This carpet could be trouble, it's skewed big time across the width!!!
Fred Towns Yeah I actually had a fit on one of the long seams
I need a job
Your really good at your trade. Best I seen on TH-cam
Big Womp Thank you I really appreciate that
Hard to believe that would stay together without glue tape behind it
17:40 is where the information starts that I need and maybe others. Thanks mate
This is how to cut carpet in the floor.
TRUNG NGUYEN thank you sir
@@FloorsbySouthernboys You're welcome and thank you very much 👍 have a good night and stay warm.
TRUNG NGUYEN 😀👍
Amazing job. : )
G Corpus Thank you
Learned something with using the opposite blade for my row cutter with tight nip carpets like this. Great job btw like watching the videos.
true sooner Thank you sir and I’m glad it helped you
Skewing!! Sorry!!
Yea we use weld lock for commercial it does have the uv tracer....but touchdown Taylor usually on axminister or Wilton carpets which have no uv tracings....all installers are different....I have not found u doing a double stick installation yet ,have u ?
Jerrid Hawkins No videos on it yet
D-815 from dap was my go to. Now its parabond since D-815 got discontinued. That stuff held seams together when you pulled up carpet, lol
Wouldn't it be easier to pull out a row
Some carpet just too tight, the yarns will just keep breaking
Very helpful, thank you.
You're welcome
This guy is good
Thank you
Seam clamps work wonders
Jerrid Hawkins Thank you for the recommendation as well
Np
Nice work, who's the lady near the end?
sausage man Thank you and that would be my wife
FloorsbySouthernboys oh cool bringing your wife to work now, I don't want to sound odd but I actually thought that when I saw her. Lol just a question are you Christian?
(you don't have to answer😂)
sausage man Yes I am a Christian
sausage man Yes she will bring his supper and hang out with us until he was done since we was working so late over there it’s not a regular that she comes to my jobs
FloorsbySouthernboys you have a good wife I believe that's very important to have a good woman behind you and be understanding with your work because this is a very hard job at times.
