People like Narayana Murthy recommended for 70 hours work in a week. Karnataka government immediately tried to implement the same. Fortunately because of protest they kept it in abeyance. Corporates are exploiting the employment situation in India. Corporate greed is the root cause of everything. They're thinking only about margin and revenue growth, without any human touch. Ofcourse margin and revenue growth is very much essential , at the same time they must take care of the employees . Labour laws in India are only in favour of corporates. In the name of job creation corporates are exploiting the aspirations of middle class. The same corporates follow all labour laws in western countries.

Couple of other seniors apparently died in the last 1year of heart attacks or some kind of sickness. One was an assistant director and another a proj manager as well. Apparently one of them sat one bay away as I was in and a week later we got an email that he passed away. I eventually quit since I noticed the senior managers I was associated worked with the firm for over 10-15yrs making this their home & did everything in their power to survive in the first holding their posts & valuable pay cheques. They were toxic, would throw you under the bus for any random issue and pressurise, randomly micromanage the team. Also there is no one who can voice against them the partner in the next level would never know since it would never be reported and the HR works hand in hand with these senior managers. EY is in a bad place unless it kicks out the senior managers and recruits fresh senior talent and builds a better environment. Ty

As an ex employee I can tell you on an average you work for 11 hrs minimum and you are expected to be available over weekends as well. And the time you fill in the system is 40 hours in a week.
And if you refuse to be available over weekends or late in the evening citing being busy they may be okay with slight reluctance but will mess up your yearly appraisal and growth.
It's a top down problem, right from upper leadership.

I worked at EY, and I know the harsh reality there. It's a nightmare for most employees. I encountered harassment, extreme pressure, discrimination, and bias at EY. I reported this horrific experience to the EY ethics team, but instead of providing a solution, they closed the case and continued to target and harass me. The EY ethics forum is completely useless. I also reported the issue to CEO Carmine Di Sibio, Rajiv Memani, Sreekanth Arimanithaya, and Jaya Virwani, providing all the evidence-emails, call records, chat screenshots, etc.-but rather than responding with empathy, they blocked me on all social media platforms. They concealed the issue and closed the case. This has been a truly traumatizing experience, and I do not recommend EY to anyone. Imagine the trauma and anxiety I have endured. If you report any incident, they won’t take action; they don’t value human life. They only respond when a fatal incident goes viral.

Third rate work culture in corporations. The government and investigative agencies need to investigate Anna’s murder, and if the management at EY are found guilty, then punish them. Measuring productivity in terms of how long you work and when you logout should be discarded. Working long hours shouldn’t be a requirement to rise up the corporate hierarchy. Let corporations figure out ways to increase productivity without increasing working hours beyond 8 hours.

No person should work for more than seven hours per day. Only then you will have best quality output and sustained productivity. Seven hours of work, around 2.5 hours of commuting and one hour of lunch and tea break. Rest of time has to go eight hours of sleep, some exercise, family time, skill updation and social life. What are we running for? Why should projects have to be completed like yesterday?? Work at easy paces, work less, have less productivity but very high standards. The world has to learn to function at a slower pace and be satisfied with less of everything. Consequently even the health issues, mental and physical, will reduce drastically. Be satisfied with fewer pairs of clothes and footwear. Be happy with simple furniture in your house. No need to take expensive vacations. Our middle class is killing itself for these absolutely superficial gains.

Airplanes are insured. Profits are not. Moreover, pilots are at rest most of their time in flights. Workers' rights are acceptable unless labour is abundant like in India, workers are replaceable, free to leave if they don't like the working environment and no remorse by business owners don't care about your laws because they're immune from legal actions. Bullying is a normal state of affair in India continuously unopposed over the past 25 years of oppression of minority and certain caste. Laws are good talking points but useless on enforcement. Reduction of population is necessary

We humans have made artificial restrictions on ourselves to make our life as miserable as possible. This kind of corporate culture should be illegal and should not be celebrated. BDS- Frsh salary 5-8k per month
Get some experience with some near death experiences and many assaults for about 10 years you ear around 24 lpa at the age of 35+.

If the work in HDFC / EY / any other company hiring slaves , can cause death ....
How many people have resigned after realizing the fact they can die of work stress ?
How many people belong to a family who loves money lesser than their family member earning from HDFC / EY / any other company hiring slaves , ?
How many people feel that earning money from HDFC / EY / any other company hiring slaves , is more important than their life and they are ready to die earning money via HDFC / EY / any other company hiring slaves , ?
Why cant people who think they has tiny bit of brain to stay alive and earn from any org or in worst case being a maid, rather than die working as a employee of HDFC / EY / any other company hiring slaves , ?
I keep thinking why people get attracted to things that they dont want.

That means you're not doing any productive work or are whiling away your time. First of all if you think you're being harassed or are exploited get out of that organization. Never waste a single hour. Do you want to get paid just for wasting time. Organization such as this one pays you well and if you think you can get better pay either lesser working hours go and join that organization. You're under no obligation to work for anyone.
