    The features and ergonomics of the X2T-f are nice. On the down side, and this is a BIG downside, it eats batteries. That means I have to change batteries when the battery level drops to 70 or 80%. Not great at all. I alwayscarry fresh NiMh batteries. The issue that very often, much too often, the thing stops working, you realize you're missing pictures, and you have to pause an change batteries. I have two of these so this isn't an anomaly. A fatal flaw I'm afraid.

      Switch to 1.5v L-Ions. Both of the newer triggers (and the Flashpoint custom) are designed for 1.5v and do poorly with 1.2v rechargeables.

    Those are nice. I have to say the pocket wizard to me is one of the better triggers. I still have the TT5 version because it's a work horse. It just won't stop working. Paired my TT5S with the TT1 and the AC3 zone controller. The zone controller is one of the quickest devices for controlling the flash output in 1/3 increments by turning a dial that is easy to read. I can turn the dial without taking my eye off the subject. It's just simple. The LCD screens are nice, but making quick adjustments for lighting output will take longer navigating through the menu. Good review though.

    Thanks for the comparisons and review. In some Amazon descriptions of the X2T it seems to suggest it has TCM function. Also on p47 of the X2T manual it possibly suggests it has it but is a little ambiguous. It lists it there asking l among the technical specifications but isn't completely clear whether it has it or not as it doesn't say "Yes" but tells you what TCM does. I know there certainly isn't an external TCM button like on the XPro. Can you confirm whether the X2T does or does not have TCM function even as one of the internal menu options as per p47 of the manual? Or is it only the XPro with that function? Thanks.

    • @hypop

      Only the Godox G3 firmware software is compatible with macOS. G3 supports in particular the Godox V1, AD400Pro and X2T. You can view the full list on the Godox site here: www.godox.com/EN/Download.html. For the G1 and G2 firmware software you'll have to run Parallels or VMWare to run Windows or alternatively find a PC to perform the updates. Your local store should be able to help you.

    • @hypop
      @hypop  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The TT600 doesn't have TTL so you can only trigger and control the flash manually. Both devices (the trigger and flash) need to be TTL compatible for you to use TTL.

    Amateurs & pros love ATG's TCM (first shot taken was in TTL, if you like the exposure then press "TCM" then the light power is fixed (locked) into manual).
    Images taken after the first shot will have the same flash power as in the first TTL shots.
    It is like using the Flash Light Meter, which many can't afford to buy.

    Actually, the X1 support rear curtain sync too. On the godox Chinese site, they have the methods on different camera systems. On Nikon, you dont need to do anything, just set your camera to rear curtain sync, it will just work. On Canon, you need to set the Fn 04 to on in the trigger menu, and it will work when your shutter speed is in between 1/30 to 30 sec.

    Just got a x2t. Been using x1t and something weird w the x2t. Subject is my white cat, w x1t, images comes out tack sharp(Fuji 56/1.2@f4) but when I switch to x2t, images were softer and quiet often slightly oof. I know it doesn't make sense but I kept switching between the 2 transmitter firing a v860iii and results were consistent. Images using x2t were softer and require dehaze to match that if x1t. Anyone knows what is happening? All on ttl

    • @hypop
      @hypop  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If using TTL, try exposure compensation or ensure all ambient light and conditions don't change. Perhaps even use a tripod and swap out the triggers and repeat the shot to test.
      Another good test would be to set it to a manual flash setting and repeat on both triggers. If no difference there then it's just the TTL playing tricks!

      No, although they're both 2.4ghz the FC-16 receiver doesn't use the Godox X encoding. The only receiver that works with the Godox X range triggers is the X1R however that has been discontinued. There are no longer any X receivers that you can purchase so you'll need to purchase Godox units with built in receivers.

    regarding the x2 hot shoe, is the flash that you would mount to that have to be a godox or would a sony flash work?

    • @hypop
      @hypop  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It would normally work with most flashes regardless of brand as long as there is the center pin on the hotshoe of the flash. You might need to look into the specific model you have to confirm as I believe that some Sony accessories are only compatible with their proprietary Multi Interface Shoe.

    I’m sorry but you need to Get rid of the annoying and distracting background noise/music which does nothing for this video and makes it difficult and unpleasant to follow. The content is useful the presentation because of the sound is sadly poor.

    The X Pro trigger is by far the best one.
    That said it's a bit daft that you can only use 5 groups max with any of the battery powered godox units. The mains powered lights have 16 groups. You can work around it by using some of the Godox usb receivers in the additional lights but surely they could allow 16 groups in the battery powered lights?

    Great video! I am curious if know what the difference between the Godox V1 round head flash for canon and the Godox V1-C 2.4G TTL HSS Round Head Li-ion Camera Flash Speedlite Fr Canon EOS.

  •  4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Is it possible to connect another trigger on the hotshoe of the X1T and X2T instead of a speedlight in order to control a mix of different flash makers at the same time; a Godox speedlight with the X1T or the X2T Canon version and a couple of Canon 600 EX-RT Speedlites with a Yongnuo YN-E3-RT in particular? That would make my switch to Godox flashes easier and cheaper since I'd like to have a third flash in order to be able to work with three different groups of flashes. Nice video by the way!

    Hi there. I am thinking about getting 2 QS 600ii but am unsure if I can use them with my AD600 as their stop increments differ ie. .1 and 1/3. Do the QS 600 ii models change power values when using 1/3 increment function on xpro trigger. I don’t want to dive into custom function menu every time I want to use a different light. Thanks.

    • @hypop
      @hypop  ปีที่แล้ว

      X1T is now discontinued so we'll remove that from the equation. We prefer the XPro's larger screen and UI when using multi light set ups. The two main factors that sway people to the X2T over the XPro are the hotshoe mount (if you wanted to also use an on camera flash/speedlight) and Bluetooth connectivity (good for food/product photographers who mount their camera on a rig and need to control flash settings remotely). Aside from those two specific features, the $10-$15 price difference to the XPro is worth it for most people for user friendly UI. Hope this helps !
