This is a really, really well made tutorial. Calm, so my brain can take in the info instead of constantly getting distracted with special effects or someone yelling at me, cohesive, well lit, great audio, well articulated. Just had to say something because it's such a jewel among all the TH-cam noise.
That’s so true. A lot of TH-camrs are a bit too excited, extra and just speeding through everything with an over reliance on cuts and background music. This video is how a tutorial is done.
Absolutely the best tutorial for using the Godox X2T trigger!!! I recently upgraded from the X1 to the X2T and I am very pleased with this upgrade, except for the abysmal user guide provided. (similar to Good user guides for its flashes...useless and unintelligible) Fortunately for us, Jessie came to the rescue and showed all the ins and outs of this handy and inexpensive device. I have the iPhone 13, unfortunately, the new app version doesn't have all the features the older version had.
This was incredibly useful, and will undoubtedly shorten the learning curve as I learn to use new equipment/techniques. Great to see something so well put together coming from Calgary!
Wow what a great video! I am a complete newb at modern off camera flash and just bought the Godox tt685c and the X2T Controller to go with my Canon T7i camera I bought a few years ago. A little overkill for a newb but wanted something I could grow into. This is by far the most comprehensive tutorial on this flash that I have seen online so far. Everyone else just blasts through their videos to either just get it done and posted or they are geared for people that already know how to do this. I was literally doing off camera flash within minutes as I followed along with your video. Unfortunately my old Galaxy S5 is not supported by the app but I have a ton to learn before I get another phone. Thank you very much!
Thank you. Very comprehensive. So nice that people take the time and effort to help. If using manual camera settings, it's a relief that you can control flash output in decimals rather than fractionally. So much simpler if you're a noob like me. Selecting +3 on the contrast is a big screen improvement imo.
Good video. On thing I will mention. ID does not "add channels". It adds a code to the transmitted signal, which is decoded in the receivers, and, when enabled on RX and TX, flash requires it in the received signal in order to fire. This is to eliminate firing from other transmitters' spurious signals, or, worse, other transmitters on the same channel. It has been around as "PL" (personal line) in VHF/UHF communications for decades.
Thanks for this excellent and informative tutorial. Literally covered every aspect of the trigger. This is a most comprehensive tutorial on this trigger that I have seen online so far. No one can go wrong with the trigger after watching this video
AT LAST, a PROFESSIONAL, easy to understand NO BLOODY music background video, SUPERB especially for Autistic people like me. Thank you, well done. A few years back I had Flex TT5s etc, I sold as they were rarely used. I bought three of these, being Autistic I am unable to read (concentrate, I am not stupid) this video was SUPERB sitting there WITH the units and following a PROFESSIONAL TH-cam maker, I just wish you showed how to update the firmware.
Such an awesome tutorial !!!! Thank you..Thank you..Thank you !! I am an absolute beginner and I bought this with the TT600 flash, and didn't have a clue how to operate the controller and the flash and what these options are all about. Now my controller, godox app and flash are all set
Just ordered one of these, and also a TT685 N flash unit. I'm a beginner and this tutorial is going to really help me to get my head around the set up, so thanks for that.
Excellent instructional video. I had a problem with my trigger. I knew it was operator error but couldn't figure it out. After watching your video, it was plain as day. Thanks for the help!
thanks so much! Just got my X2T today together with the AD100 (all my other lights are Elinchrom) so I really had to see how to connect this but it works perfectly!
This is such a good tutorial on the X2T I just got mine and couldn't figure it out so searching on the net dint help but you did help me understand the transmitter. Thank you so much Jessie.
Thank you for such an informative walk through! Just yesterday I ran into a problem with my godox setup while our in the field. Thanks to your tutorial, I discovered my flash was on optical slave instead of radio slave. A few clicks on the mode button of the flash and problem solved! Thanks again!
Wonderfully helpful video. I was tearing my hair out trying to use the flash and controller together. This made it so all so clear. Thanks so much. Have subscribed.
It is a great tutorial. a very clean and neat explanation so that now I have a very good understanding of X2T functions. Thank you for your great work !!
Thank you for this amazing tutorial/walk through.. it was super informative and I can finally set up my V1C and AD600 Pro using this very same trigger.. super thankful for this.
Enjoyed your video and purchased the Olympus version from Amazon. Tried it off camera and under iPhone control and very impressed, however when I tried to put it on my Lumix G9 it was far too tight and I risked damaging the trigger or the camera. UPDATE I saw some small black marks on the camera hot shoe and decided to carefully scrape the off. In doing so I dislodged a thin shim and the trigger now fits easily. I think the shim is to hold the black plastic hot shoe blank in place.

@@brianharvey2468 I believe your Panasonic G85's Remote has a 2.5mm female socket. Check your camera for sure. Cables are only available in USA. We've been using ATG Gold cables & able to wirelessly trigger the cameras over 24km away. That 24 kilometres away.
Just $375.00 for the modification from ATG, my unit is now compatible TTL/TCM with ATG/Profoto/Interfit lights. When you first think it is high but ATG stated it can do much more than Profoto TTL transmitter. So an extra $375 was worth it. FYI ATG/Godox disabled the TCM & also from becoming a transceiver.
Hi Richard, A trigger is actually still required to use the app, so it's not so much an alternative as it is an additional option. Hope you didn't find that section too distracting!
The best tutorial video I've seen. Can I mount and use a Neewer Camera Wireless Timer Remote NW-870 on top of the Godox X2T Radio Controller, can the Godox x2T handle what I need.
Hi Don, If you're looking to trigger another camera at the same time, you may encounter slight sync issues, but the X2T can definitely fire your remote when you have the PC setting set to "Out."
Hi Don, Edit to my last response: I'm not sure your remote shutter release actually has a sync input. It would require one if I understood your question correctly, so just double-check.
