Since you've driven both, which do you think is better(yes, I know you have a manual)? If you had to do it all over again, would you still get a manual?
Truly depends on what you are doing with the car. Both are great. If it's a daily driver where you genuinely deal with traffic. Go automatic. If it's a toy car for the weekends, go manual. I don't daily drive mine at all. It's 99% a car I use to film videos with and have fun in on back roads, so the manual is great. If I solid mine for another I'd go back to automatic so my wife can enjoy the car too. She doesn't like manuals and thats one downside. I'm the only one who drives the Supra, so we don't really take it out together like we do in the Lambo and RS3

Personally I like the manual. THat's what I own. It's a great transmission and is very fun to row through gears. Just depends on if you want the continence of an auto or the extra engagement of the manual
Yes technically. But it's the factory where the BMW Z4 is built. So technically it's a primary BMW factory. The ZF8 speed is wasn't talking about. Tons of cars use that brand transmission
question for you man, when you have it in manual mode and are using the paddles, do you have full control of the gears? Does it ever shift for you if you are using the paddles? My mom's merc will randomly shift even if you want it to be in manual and it is frustrating. does that make sense? hahaha
How did it feel going back to the auto? My Cayman GTS was 120K+ and the Supra couldn't hold a candle to it, really apples and oranges there but I do like the Supra.
Actually pretty fun! I'm so used to the manual it was cool having the snappy transmission. ZF 8 speed is awesome! But I still love rowing the gears in mine lol. Yeah the GTS does have a lot more things about it to make it much better. But acceleration wise it's the same as the Supra. So cool to see how the 'budget' Supra is pretty awesome for the money for someone who can't buy the GTS
@BrosFOURRSpeed agreed, the Supra is literally as fast as a 718 caymen in any trim. The argument about a better interior doesn't hold either as the Caymen interior is pretty laughable for "120k." The only good thing about Caymen is mid engine. And that's overrated too. 911 all day over a caymen.
You're watching it. We've been doing TH-cam full time for about 5 years now. We also run our automotive parts website and we do some video marketing for a few local companies. This was a press car. But I have a 2023 manual Supra and a few other cars. Check out more of our channel to see more!
Please, for the love of god, do an in-depth review of the FULL Akrapovic exhaust for the GR Supra (their titanium axleback + SS mid-pipe + SS high-flow catted downpipe). I would love you forever if you did 🌹 Also, I believe the manual GRS is 100lbs lighter than the auto, therefore weighing in at 3,300 lbs 😎
aww man! a premium spec with the tan interior is like exactly how I'd spec one of these except it ain't manual ;( I wonder how many of these rare spec combos toyota will make
th-cam.com/video/lfriLa3ZijY/w-d-xo.html Here's my comparision with the M2! Both are awesome, but a bit different. I'll probably buy an M2 after my Supra
After seeing this, not sure If I still want to manual transmission. I want one car of mine to be manual just for the race (fast and furious) feelings and fun.
If you can afford a Supra, go for it! I had two different 370Z's in my early 20s. Great car at the time and very affordable. A 370 or G37 would be a cool choice since you can buy a nice one under $30k. Supra 3.0 will be at least high $40k range
I got the 23 2 weeks ago. This looks exactly like the car in my garage minus the chestnut. I’m not a car guy but does engine braking eat more gas then just letting the auto downshift on its own? I try not to drive it unless I actually need to go somewhere
Yeah it will use more gas. Probably not enough to make any difference worth worrying about tho. But you really don't need to engine brake in a car like this. This isn't a big truck towing a 10k pound trailer.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed what's the lowest amount of gas you've ever ran it to? I thought I read or heard somewhere it shouldn't go to less than a certain amount?
@@FeelnLikeIDoEveryDay Generally I fill up when my range says 50 miles. When your gas light comes on, that’s a good time to fill it. If you go to 0 range you put a bit extra stress on your fuel pump. However most cars still have 1 or 2 gallons left when the range says 0. We drove our S3 30 miles past 0 once. And it still had a gallon left
Since I got it I’ve been putting 94 octane in it. I feel like since I’ve run it through about 2 full tanks of fuel and topped off the air in tires it’s running even smoother! Got over 500km out of a tank with more range to go. Unfortunately someone hit it at work the other day 😭. Gas and touchless car washes had been my biggest expense till then. I just got the Verus wind buffeting kit. Hopefully when it goes in for body work they will put it on for me when it’s inside the shop. Still no regrets despite the set back but I kind of love it even more now. Feels like the kid gloves can come off (major cope 🤢) lol
When will I get mine in cu latter grey my patience is so low right now I have been waiting from ages I feel like even tho it’s 6 months in Canada as dealer said Dw it will be here in 6-8 months
A great car no doubt. I used to dream about owning one but now there are electric cars. The trade off is way less maintenance on an EV but way less street cred/sound and looks for an EV than the Supra. In the Supra, you will need to put in "Super" gas. Also, I did not like the wheel lugs. Supra wheels had a different connection to the car before. Supposedly, the lugs were on the other side or something like that. Is it still like that? Also, slight lack of sight while driving--forward and rear view. Wind buffing (mentioned) is horrible when the window is down. Last, that horn is so mickey mouse. Toyota should have upgraded the horn. Other than those minor issues, Toyota sure did a great job with BMW. You will get snickers and people who call it a bimmer but you will just have to roll with it.
Not sure what you mean with "lugs on the other side"..there's only one way to have them. The window buffeting is an easy fix as I have done on both my Supras. But you will have way more fun and loose a lot less money owing this car than an EV. they depreciate like rocks sinking to the bottom of a lake. And the added expense to replace an entire EV battery, you could buy another car lol
@@manueldelcaribe for me, i’ve found a 2023 model, driven around 3,000 KM, and was priced $55,850. I then checked for a brand new one for 57,000 and the colour of the exterior and interior is what i wanted compared to the used one i saw, so the difference is not much and i opted for a brand new one, under my ownership and wouldn’t have to worry about anything. You got what i mean ?
@@manueldelcaribe Goven the market it would hardly be different in price. Most 2023’s will be pre owned selling their original MSRP or more on the used market. A brand new one from a good dealer will be the same price.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed Thank you for the response. I’ll definitely have to test drive both. I normally ride with no passengers. I thought the V8 would be significantly faster, but the 6 speed manual the Toyota Supra has.
The turbo 6 in the Supra is much quicker. And a basic tune makes these even faster. Supra is a true sports car with power and handling. IS500 isa great sedan with some good health power and space.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed Thanks. I just came back from a test drive. Make lots of interior noise (creaking etc). Surprisingly the Nismo Z appears to be built pretty tight (no creaks/watsoever during test drive).
I did some foam tap on my door panels to solve the squeaks. But as a car, the Supra is a much better sportscar with better handling and power. Aside from the door panels on m y last Supra, my current 2023 doesn't make any rattles
Great video, 1 piece of criticism, i would do your voiceover in post (assuming you do it live) cause you legitimately sound out of breath during the first section (exterior) and its distracting haha
To me, Toyota has enough resources to build the Supra and design it themselves. Is it really a Toyota Supra when underneath the parts are BMW? I know Toyota did the tuning and such, but the assembly and much of the engineering BMW did. If BMW can do it, no valid reason a company the size and breadth of Toyota cannot do it as well.
It would have costs hundreds of millions for Toyota to develop this. Yes they could have. But they would lose so much money on a low volume sportscar. Unless they just used the RCF platform and threw a V8 in it. The BMW intervention is why this car is so good. BMW has had the inline turbo for a very long time and the Z4 platform is much better then anything Toyota has
@@BrosFOURRSpeedThat's my point: You've basically said what Toyota has isn't up to scratch. My contention is that the Supra is a halo car for Toyota. If I was the consumer, I'd want to sample (experience) Toyota's design and engineering approach (i.e. the character of it being unique, not a tune of another car manufacturer's parts). A V8 is awesome. They've got one. They, too (as you pointed out) have existing platforms to use/modify (I believe this negates the need for millions to invest for the Supra product). They use it in their GR program and Lexus. Now we've got Toyota power and design. If I wanted (thought BMW was better) to buy a BMW, I'd buy it. If they're the same, why even offer the Supra? Just get the BMW Z4. I'm looking to Toyota for a Toyota designed and engineered product that I think is better (or I like better) than other products. Otherwise, why should Toyota do anything other than sell products engineered by others and put Toyota badges on them? Nissan didn't opt for this buy an existing product approach, neither should Toyota.
Are you gona say the new Supra is a bad performance vehicle? The stats don't lie, the Power plant is proven reliable as ever and very robust. Everyone nit picks the hell out of the new Supra but ignores all the deficiencies of its competitors. Nissan Z is hot garbage for the money. Camaro SS 1LE and new Supra are value kings in this segment of performance.
@@SlickSniper3If you'll read my comment, I'm not nit-picking the Supra's stats or anything of the sort. I'm pointing out that Toyota punted and that they farmed out a vehicle that was (is) a halo vehicle for them. Instead of showing what they can do engineering and design-wise, they contracted with BMW to produce a vehicle for them. I'm aware that they strongly note that Toyota engineers "tuned" the car. However, the fact remains that the car is largely a BMW wearing a different body and a Toyota badge. The money and sales arguments to me don't hold water because a number of suitable platforms and engines already exist in the Toyota sphere. In fact, some of those Toyota designed and built engines are used by their GR group. So, yeah, Nissan did their own Z and re-used some parts, but it is a Nissan, and that is saying something.
Same car 2023,2022,2021...why buy a 2024 nothing new they need to update interiors specially because this car sucks in this apartment i don't complain about motor but the interior are the worst but fanboys of the car never going to see that...
23 models have the biggest difference considering they have a manual. Past year models all just have tuning changes. Noting wrong if it works and some people buy these for track or drag,so to some degree, the interior may literally get tossed out or it's gonna have something replaced anyway.

In the USA we saw the brown interior on the 2023 A91-MT edition. Now for 2024 this and black are the two interiors available for the Premium
Sheesh better mpg than my 4 banger Camry
Yeah honestly having a well powered engine is more efficient than small engines that have to work hard to move a car.
Im 17 but when im older and have a good paying job im buying a supra they are so nice and also reliable
Keep working hard towards it!
Ive been waiting for mine since July… are they slow in production or they just not making enough?
Yeah they take a bit! All worth it! I think it's just very low volume and each dealer only gets a few a year
Thinking about a new sports car soon. Debating between this or the Nissan Z Performance. Test drove the Z and loved it but want to try this out before making my decision. Unfortunately, they are hard to find at the dealer.
Go Supra! It's a better car all day and well worth a few grand more. Here's some videos I did with both.

@@BrosFOURRSpeed Thanks, apparently sales are down for Supras (even though does not seem like it in my area) so maybe I can get a deal when I am ready to buy.
Is it worth buying now?
For sure! Still one of the best sports cars for the money. Always a good time behind the wheel
Why wouldn't it be? The new maual is spectacular if you can get your hands on one lol!!
@@speeddemonRS3 I bought supra mk4 few months ago for 400k and it is fantastic. This one is cheap and I think older is better.
Where do you live? Your exchange rate must be crazy lol. A MK4 Supra in the USA is about $100k for a very nice clean condition one
@@BrosFOURRSpeed Europe brother. I put a lot of new things that's why. But bought it for like 130 thousand and bought camaro. All of that costs like 400 thousand.😂
I cant believe they still don't have android auto
Great review
Would you say the manual is a better drive?
Personally I like the manual. THat's what I own. It's a great transmission and is very fun to row through gears. Just depends on if you want the continence of an auto or the extra engagement of the manual
Btw you gotta stop saying BMW factory, its a factory many car manufacturers use and the ZF8HP is also used in the Hellcat Demon.
Yes technically. But it's the factory where the BMW Z4 is built. So technically it's a primary BMW factory.
The ZF8 speed is wasn't talking about. Tons of cars use that brand transmission
If you’d race both your auto vs your manual which one you think would win?
Automatic would always win. Auto does 3.8 seconds constantly to 60. Manual will be around 4 to 4.2 depending on drivers skill.
question for you man, when you have it in manual mode and are using the paddles, do you have full control of the gears? Does it ever shift for you if you are using the paddles? My mom's merc will randomly shift even if you want it to be in manual and it is frustrating. does that make sense? hahaha
I don't think these will upshift for you. Pretty sure it truly gives you control. It will downshift if you get to very slow speeds tho
How did it feel going back to the auto? My Cayman GTS was 120K+ and the Supra couldn't hold a candle to it, really apples and oranges there but I do like the Supra.
Supra costs half as much, I'd hope your 718 4.0 would be better for that price 😅
Very true! However my friend bought a 2015 GTS Cayman for about Supra money. Such a good car for the money especially the older generation
@BrosFOURRSpeed agreed, the Supra is literally as fast as a 718 caymen in any trim. The argument about a better interior doesn't hold either as the Caymen interior is pretty laughable for "120k." The only good thing about Caymen is mid engine. And that's overrated too. 911 all day over a caymen.
what do you do for work to be able to afford this?
You're watching it. We've been doing TH-cam full time for about 5 years now. We also run our automotive parts website and we do some video marketing for a few local companies. This was a press car. But I have a 2023 manual Supra and a few other cars. Check out more of our channel to see more!
Great video!
Thanks! Love filming a Supra!
Supra is powered by two BMW-sourced engine options: a turbocharged B48 2.0-litre inline-four or a turbocharged B58 3.0-litre inline-six.
Yup! However now for 2025 they stopped the 4 cylinder option. So just the B58
I love it. But Hector is running 3 honda civics with spoon engines
hahahah
Please, for the love of god, do an in-depth review of the FULL Akrapovic exhaust for the GR Supra (their titanium axleback + SS mid-pipe + SS high-flow catted downpipe). I would love you forever if you did 🌹
Also, I believe the manual GRS is 100lbs lighter than the auto, therefore weighing in at 3,300 lbs 😎
If I have access to one I will! Yes the manual is slightly lighter. I thinks it's 80pounds. But cool to know!
aww man! a premium spec with the tan interior is like exactly how I'd spec one of these except it ain't manual ;( I wonder how many of these rare spec combos toyota will make
Cool spec for sure! Hopefully they make a lot with this interior. It really made the car feel special
How does it compare the the new m2 or m3?
th-cam.com/video/lfriLa3ZijY/w-d-xo.html
Here's my comparision with the M2! Both are awesome, but a bit different. I'll probably buy an M2 after my Supra
After seeing this, not sure If I still want to manual transmission. I want one car of mine to be manual just for the race (fast and furious) feelings and fun.
I own a manual and it's a lot of fun. Both transmissions are great. So just depends on what style you want
Is the supra reliable like all other Toyota models ?
So far they seem pretty good. Nobody has had anything bad pop up with these
Automatic. Ya hate to see that lol. Still such a unique and head-turning car.
At least manual is available.
would these type of cars be good for a young 20 yo driver me , tryna get my first car , I’ve been looking a the 370z and G37
If you can afford a Supra, go for it! I had two different 370Z's in my early 20s. Great car at the time and very affordable. A 370 or G37 would be a cool choice since you can buy a nice one under $30k. Supra 3.0 will be at least high $40k range
I love it but the fact it does not have a spoiler is a bummer
You can always ad one on the aftermarket. We carry some nice ones on our site. www.brosfourrspeed.com
I noticed the speedometer is flickering/flashing on and off constantly. Can this feature be turned off?
That’s just from the camera, it doesn’t so that in person.
Mostly leaning towards a manual. I miss driving one.
They are definitely fun!
The interior is absolutely ace but that exterior...
Inside looked great with this color! What don't you like about the outside? It's so nice! lol
The exterior is so much better than the interior lol
Does it still have that wacky horn
haha yeah!
الله يرزقني إياها يارب 🤲🏽

Sweet! You'll love it!
Get a 2023 and save some money lol because you going to get the same car nothing improve...
@@BrosFOURRSpeed yes it's depends in where you are.
This or a Lexus IS500 F Sport?
Fun car too! But very different. IS500 is more roomy and comfortable. But doesn't handle remotely like the Supra will. Supra is also a bit faster
IS500 isa great sedan with some good health power and space.
i cant even find a second car key for my supra... everyone is backed up on key orders.
Oh wow!
Nice..
Yeah cool car!
Is the door panel still cheap plastic?
Yeah they haven't changed anything really on this car.
Finally got my house, so as soon as I pay off my gr86, the supra is next on the list.

Where did you hear that?
@@ksorsomeplace - Agreed, I have an MKIV. I don't understand why Toyota did this.
Those seats look azz no capo
They look great for sure!
Don’t do like I did and lift the trunk with keys in my hand. Scratched to hell.
Ouch... Yeah I'm always careful on that
Same car 2023,2022,2021...why buy a 2024 nothing new they need to update interiors specially because this car sucks in this apartment i don't complain about motor but the interior are the worst but fanboys of the car never going to see that...
23 models have the biggest difference considering they have a manual. Past year models all just have tuning changes. Noting wrong if it works and some people buy these for track or drag,so to some degree, the interior may literally get tossed out or it's gonna have something replaced anyway.
Donate me one of these cars🙃
