I flew into Kai Tak on a Cathay Pacific Jumbo after a backpacking trip to Aus. Jan 1995 on a new 747-400. Might have been in this footage. I really miss the beautiful 747.
Today, we can only see their 747s on cargo operations, after retiring their last passenger variant of the 747 on October 1, 2016. Wide-bodied twinjets (A330, A350, and B777), continue to carry passengers, although regional carrier Cathay Dragonair operates the A320 and A321 in addition to the A330 inherited from mainline..
Hong Kong Kai Tak airport, well known by its famous IGS / checkerboard approach into Rwy 13. Closed in July 1998. Replaced by new Hong Kong Chek Lap Kok airport.
That green livery is much nicer than Cathay's current one in my opinion! I would love to see more clips of the "Kai Tak heart attack" approach :)

Nice!
Nostalgia is a sweet feeling, isn't it?
Use with caution though...
I like to see it
To be honest,I think if they don’t use thoose red “Chathay pacific word” in the old livery it would be great in my opinion.
