So true. My favourite site was basically any open area in Kowloon Tsai Park (close to the swimming pools which were at the foot of the chequered marker hill)
Kai Tak always welcome ... wonderful historical locale ... incredibly eternally unique ... Blessing to the thousands of pilots who braved it's eccentricities
This is FAN-TAS-TIC!!! Have been to HKG around the same time with a Frankfurt spotter group. We also made a short hop over to Taipei from there for 2 or 3 days. Unfortunately I was young back then and had not very good equipment for photography, therefore I'm glad someone else made some nice videos. Thanks for posting!
My relative is a former DC10 and 747 Flight Engineer for Garuda back in the late 80s to 90s. he’s been to kai tak many times during those era do you have a date which this video is taken.?
Yes my friend. A BIG problem. The tears are for the most beautiful EVER livery on a Boeing 747-300 series, that is not exists today. Look those days the liveries of the airlines around the world. Eurowhite, titles and a tail. I still have in my room the landscape card postal with PINGU
See only 1 777, the tail of Thai 772 parked beside the Singapore 744, now most of the orignal Thai 777's have been sold or sitting at Suvarnabhumi awaiting their fate.
Garuda Indonesia DC-10 😍 One of our airliner's legendary aircrafts
i can watch kai tak approaches all day long

The Swissair 747-300 is very impressive. Non-stop from Zurich? Or through Bangkok? With a cargo featuring Swiss watches ⌚ and chocolates 🍫
