    I have a question (and mybe idea for some of your next videos maybe?); Which in by your opinion the best ultra short throw laser projector under 2000€ this moment? There is quite a lot of competition and chaos among models out there (Wemax, Fengmi, Vava,...) and I would like to hear your opinion. Can I go wrong with Xiaomi Mi Laser Projector 4K 150" or would you prefer something else?

    Need to ask you a question...I bought the Vava last year based on your review. Love it. However, I cannot for the life of me figure out the stand height. I have swapped out different stands and will eventually need to raise my screen, I'm afraid. But I want the projector as close to the wall as possible to hide the cables. What is the height of your TV stand? And how high are your ceilings? Thanks.

    Great video! Thanks for taking the time to put it together. I have a projection screen in a golf simulator that is 86" tall (~176" diagonal), can you comment at all on how much success I might have spacing this projector out a bit more in order to fill the screen? VAVA said 150" diagonal max, beyond that the image clarity would diminish. Which goes without saying, however they didn't really elaborate on that and I was just curious if you had any thoughts? As far as usable brightness or ability to focus the image

    • @JoelHoekstra1
      @JoelHoekstra1 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Im sure the image would be able to go large enough to fill the space and be suitable quality....but the nature of short throw means the projector will be in front of you. I'm not sure i would want the projector anywhere in the vicinity of a golf ball potentially hitting it.

    Thank you for the review! On a different note, did you encounter any "vibrational" problems that would demand a "decouple effort on the projector"? I am posing this question because external speakers would pressurize the room with greater energy than the one he HK soundbar does. Thanks in advance for your help.

    • @NexiTech
      @NexiTech  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are welcome, glad you like it. No, I never had any vibration problems with my projector. I like to play music loud that's why I have Pair of Mackie SRM 450 for that job and for movies I use my good old Z-5500(two pairs) which shake the room qute good. Projector never cared about it or show any sing of vibrations. Now I don't know what setup you have? If you have some insane high SPL subs next to the projector which shake room like a earthquake then how knows??? :D

    Hi mate, love your reviews. I watch many of them and I am happy to try s projector in my living room. I wanted a vava projector since I was this video but I read some negative reviews about the sound of the fan after some months of used. Also I would like to know your opinion between this one and the 4k milja from Xiaomi and if it is worth it the money difference. Thanks in advance. Take care.

    • @NexiTech
      @NexiTech  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks mate! Glad you like my videos. Well fan noise can increase over time as some people don't seems to understand that projector cooling fans move alot of air and after a few months of use it's good idea to blow off projector with compressed air of hairdryer as due to clogged heatsinks temperature rises and projector need to increase fan speed in other to cool itself down.
      P.S
      The same goes for Xiaomi projector or any device with intelligent fan/temperature control.

    I have a few questions I am hoping you have the time to answer.
    1)How far away from the screen would the Vava have to be for 150 inch screen(both distances below,and back?I already have a set-up with a 150 inch screen and a long throw projector.
    2) Is it possible to replace the laser light source on the Vava at the end of it's life.Cost?
    3)Have you setup the Vava with a home theatre sound system?
    Thanks againfor your fine work on this video.

  • @AGC828
    @AGC828 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Kind of limiting in it's use. Means you would need to have in-wall speakers. As there would be no where else to put your centre channel speaker. Unless you have space under the projector. But then you would want your centre speaker where the projector is likely to be. So....Unless this is going in a "family room" where you don't want a projector hanging from the ceiling...this short-throw laser would be a good choice.

      Thank you so much! Well to be honest I didn't have a chance to try out a new VAVA Chroma l so I can't comment on that one. We have two Vava 4K at home. One White and one Black model. The White one we use as TV replacement, it's over 2 years old that runs pretty much 16 hours evey day and still going strong. While the black one in movie room and we use it only occasionally when we watch movies. I found my VAVA 4k projectors to be very reliable and we are very satisfied with it. That's my experience so far.

    @Nexi Tech I am thinking about getting one of those UST beamers myself.
    The one thing holding me back is the roll-up CLR screens have a bad reputation.
    How has your experience been so far?
    Is it flat enough? Does it wrinkle?
    Greetings from the South

    • @NexiTech
      @NexiTech  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Ace! I'm working right now on that screen review video. The flatness is pretty good on my roll-down screen but If you come very close to the fabric you can see some slight wrinkle lines over the fabric where it gets folded but nothing major or deal braking as it's not noticeable from a normal watching distance. I was told that these wrinkle lines will disappear over time if I leave the screen unfolded for some longer periods of time. I did not try it yet as I have two small kids that can damage the screen so I keep it safe and folded all the time.
      Also, you can always go with the fixed frame screens if you looking for a perfect flatness with no wrinkle at all. Fixed frame screens are stretched from every side by the steel springs (at least my 100 inch fixed frame screen is) that I purchased from XY-Screens. Also, I just received one test unit (100'' fixed frame screen from Fengmi company) and I will make video review soon for it. Can you wait a bit? Maybe this new one is a good deal in terms of quality/design, it have a decent price too.

    Thanks for this review ! It is so hard to choose between Optoma P2 and this one. Optoma P2 has a much better input lag (around 62 ms) compare to the VAVA and I guess it seems to be more quiet too (26 dB) however, the brightness of the VAVA is definitively better than the optoma..... really hard to choose.

    • @NexiTech

      Alot of people ask me about input lag and gaming and I told myself: Ok that's it I'm getting a game console!
      Yesterday I go out and brought a PS4 pro, to test input lag in real life screnario(during gaming). When I got home I connect everything, set it up,download a few games and try it out. Let me tell you that input lag is not that bad at all, controller feels responsive and gaming on this huge screen and projector was very cool. So far I try out a few games, NFS Payback, Hitmen, Far cry 4, Assassin's Creed Odyssey, and a few free demo FPS games(don't know the names right now I will check it later and edit the comment). Anyway, I got to tell you that gaming on this projector and ps4 pro was very cool experiance! Huge screen in 4K with awesome graphic... It was just wow! Games look fantastic and the gameplay was very nice. At first I did not noticed any high input lag so I played for a few hours and then I took my 27 inch monitor(4ms) and do a comparison between projector and the monitor. First I played on the monitor for a 10 minutes then I switch to the projector and then again for the few cycles. At first I did felt a tiny bit of lag on the projector compared to the monitor, but then my brain adjust to it and I played normaly again, so for casual games and single player games, input lag is not that big of a deal in my opinion. Of course am not a hard core gamer on the console controller and for me playing FPS games(shooting and aiming) on the controller is really hard and slow compare to the mouse and keyboard( I'm PC gamer). So I definatly need time to get used to it. Of course I wil test out more games and soon I will make a seprate video review only about gaming on this projector but so far not bad at all.

      @@Fastm3driver I have a vav 4k projector and i got horrible lag with an old firmware (1.62 i think) .I tested PS4 (the last of us 2) and PC (Watchdogs 2) and both were completly unplayable. After i set the GFX output on both PC and PS4 to 1080i the lag was gone because the vava didn´t upscale to 4k.
      Yesterday i tried Cyberpunk 2077 on PC. I left the gfx output to 1080p (i have nvidia 1070 and don´t have 4k monitor) so the VAVA 4k did an upscale to 4k and i haven´t noticed significant lag. Only tried a few minutes because i did this after5 hours of playtime and was tired. Will try again today and also check the PS4.
      So it seems like the got rid of the lag and you could at least play singleplayer games.

      You meen a projector fan noise? It's pretty quiet and it never bothered me. The screen is ALR or CLR how ever you want to call it but specific for ultra short throw laser projectors(UST). This screen has horisontal micro lines pattern surface and it blocks light that comes from above. It's not mesh screen or ALR for standard projectors.

    I have a BenQ tk800m pared with 110" fixed frame white screen. I now have 4000 hours on the lamp but the picture is still great. I would like to try the VAVA projector. I always like to have the latest Electronic gadgets. But a few things is holding me back. I hate to buy a new screen. I did a lot of recherché but cant find a ALR- CLR 110" screen .Is either 100" or 120". Also I don't want to pay an arm and a leg for a new screen. My room is relatively dark. If I close the black curtain, it gets pretty dark. I might want to try the VAVA on my white screen first. Is there a reasonable110"ALR -CLR screen comparable with the 100" VAVA screen that you recommend? Also another thing that is holding me back is the power that the projector uses. In the end the picture may not be any better than my TK800M. With all things considered, I my just replace the lamp on my projector when need be. What do you think? Thank you.

      If you projecting on the white wall position of the projector(up or down, side ways, mirror) should not make any difference in picture quality. Difference in picture quality with ambient lights and with/without the ALR/CLR screen I demonstrated in the video. In room with lower ambient light this projector will preform pretty well.

    Are the black and off-white versions technically identical? The price difference on Amazon right now is more significant than mere aesthetics would imply. And what "flavor" of Dolby is this outputting? The Bomaker claims a simulated Atmos (bouncing I guess, or maybe just stereo spacing) but I've always found the "audio by Dolby" wording on this one confusing. Is it at least using 5.1 inputs and doing something with those? Or is it just vanilla stereo? Obviously not expecting much, but curious about the method.

    • @NexiTech
      @NexiTech  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes they are identical to my knowledge. I really can't answer too much on Dolby favor output as I'm just now "forced" to use projector optical output connected to my old Logitech Z5500 speakers and I do get very nice and clear 5.1 sound. The plan in future is to get some decent receiver and to use audio over HDMI directly from the Blu-ray player. I did tried to use stereo output from the projecor as well and the sound from 5.1 gets mixed to stereo sound and it's pretty good as well.

    I have couple of questions..
    1.Does the VAVA 4k support native 4k does it achieve 4k resolution by pixel shifting?
    2. Does it support cinemascope screen ratio of 2.35:1
    Thanks in advance.

    • @NexiTech
      @NexiTech  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      1. Most if not all of these Ultra short throw laser projectors are using pixel shifting technology to achieve true 4K resolution. This greatly cut down the cost. The good thing is than image chip are shifting in 4-way in 240hz which eliminate any rainbow effects issue that some other more expensive two way shifting projectors with bigger DMD chips have. So you end up with the real 4K resolution projection image which is 99% the same like a real long throw native 4K projector. That's what's experience telling me and as well many other reviews and users in forums online.
      I know that there is only one Ultra short throw laser projector with true full size native 4K image chip made by Sony and it cost something like 20.000$ if I remember correctly.
      2. As far as I know it does support it. Every time when I watch any movie on 4K UHD blue ray disks or regular Blu-ray using my Sony X700 4K player the player itself switch automatically to the cinema screen ratio of that movie,
      but if you will have that cinema aspect ratio on projector internal OS I did not found any settings that support that. If is that is what you ment. I hope that I helped :)
