    Guys this is great performing projector. I reviewed it a few weeks ago and all i can say is that "Dragons are meant to be seen in 100+ inch screens. The colors are great, fan is quiet I did a noise test, and the integrated sound bar is fantastic for those who dont have additional sound options. Hope this helps with your being decision. Nice Review by the way!

      Save your money, this projector is underwhelming. Get the optoma P1, worth the extra money. 6000 lumens is marketing. I bought this projector and I couldn’t return it, buyer beware. It’s junk!!

    I got this on Black Friday special for $2100. It’s usually $2800. It’s now back on sale. It’s an amazing projector. You can project up to 150inches diagonal. The picture quality is superb. I’m in love with it. Just keep in mind that you do need to place the projector 7-10 inches away from the wall and it if you have low ceilings, the projector for can’t be too high off the ground. For $2000, this is incredible. I was going to get the epson 5040 but glad I went with this instead.

If I buy it now, I won’t have it for two months

    That is, indeed, very interesting but the price for a decent projecting screen has to be considered. Unfortunately, the Ambient Light Rejecting (ALR) or Ceiling Light Rejecting (CLR) screens, suitable for the ultra short throw projectors are pretty expensive. They're not mandatory or course, but they can greatly enhance the experience. I'm still looking for an affordable option... Any ideas ?

      Build your own. You can buy the material pre-cut to size(for about $200) and wood for the frame for about $40. Screws and a bit of felt for the edges and a decent stapler, another $20. I was going to buy a screen but I'm going to build my own. I'm not a DIY expert but it looks handy enough to do. Tons of video's on TH-cam on how to do it.

  • @BuDWiskey

    Thanks for the video - I wanted to let you know that I just contacted VAVA tech. regarding their 4k projector, and asked about the true native resolution. I've been trying to decide which 4k projector I'd like to purchase for my theater. I was somewhat surprised that this projector has a DMD (digital micro-mirror device) with a native resolution of 1920x1080. This VAVA unit, as well as quite a few other "4k" projectors, "support" a 4k signal.. I guess what that means is that these projectors can accept & process the 4k video signals (down scale) to be displayed with the DMD at 1920x1080.?. This isn't a true 4k projector, is it?

    • @BuDWiskey
      @BuDWiskey 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Darren Munsell Yep - I actually was quite surprised that the main display chip in this machine was 1920x1080.. I did some additional reading and research, and turns out they're using a process similar to pixel shifting. To display a 4k image, this projector has to pixel shift or parcel out frames, and they have to do it 4x. A 4k image requires 8.3million pixels to be displayed,, so 1920x1080 = 2.07million.. 4(shifts)x2.07million pixels = 8.3million. They're probably shifting the images at 120-240hz, so our eyes don't see it.

    • @DeathStickD
      @DeathStickD 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is false

    • @DeathStickD
      @DeathStickD 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It uses dlp pixel shifting which shifts pixels fractions to increase the amount of pixels hitting the screen, it does this at 240hz which makes it indistinguishable at 150inches and under from nonepixel shifted content. So yes, the amount of pixels being sent to the screen is 8.3 million making it 4k

    • @kriswingert1662
      @kriswingert1662 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      And this is true off almost all DMD based 4k projectors. It employs pixel shifting to achieve 4k.

    I love this projector but am having issues with finding a compatible receiver... I have tried the 4000 dollar pioneer elite, the Sony 1080, and a 2000 dollar Onkyo all support hdcp 2.2 Dolby vision/hdr 10+ on all ports etc. but when connected to the projector I cannot get hdr except on Sony but even then it’s 4:2:0 not 4:4:4 or 4:2:2 I have made sure the projector is set to do hdr and have made sure all the settings within the receiver menus are set to enhanced or hdcp 2.2 these same receivers work fine with my 2 c9 OLEDs and my long throw Sony 4K projector. So I know it’s not a receiver issue and all my cables are the same and I have tried several Apple TV’s so I know it’s not them for all intents and purposes it appears to be a projector receiver compatibility issue because when I plug directly into the projector it works fine if I do ARC it works fine...(pain in the neck and single source only) so not good solutions there... is there a brand of AV receiver that anyone has working with this projector? Yamaha, Denon, Marantz, etc? I don’t want to keep switching the receivers around or buy yet another for trail and error purposes... it’s getting tedious lol... I may end up sticking with the Sony when all is said and done but it’s not ideal as the audio quality is sup-par compared to the more expensive offerings from other brands... thanks for anyone’s suggestions in advanced.

    2500 and no Netflix or Hulu no, now I know your probably able to hoo your laptop up to it to mirror it for Netflix but that much money it should do that out of the box but other than that seems pretty nice but they could’ve partner with amazon or google for fire tv or google tv built right in cause their built in service doesn’t seem very good at all, they need to take that price down or improve much more before release

      I agree I wish people doing reviews would be more detailed instead of reading the specs, like doing a measurement of the actual lumen output, whether or not if it's 4k upscaled or native, hdr performance and brightness while in 3d mode just to name a few

    Whats the point of projecting a 4k image onto plaster thats terrible at reflecting light, it might seem a good idea untill you see the same image on a screen, then you realise how bad it is, you lose so much gain and contrast, when screens now cost pittence to buy.

    I just got this projector last week, I really don’t like it, doesn’t work with PS4, the apps are all android for phone and are awful, it also won’t display 4K signal from 4K Firestick. Got it to work with my 4K disc player but even then it was dark. I tried to return it but they have a NO RETURN AFTER SHIPPING POLICY.... I would avoid this product like the plague.

      rlm7189 actually got that part figured out! Go to main menu, select the HDMI port you want to use (it helps to have something playing when you do this) then press and hold the MENU button until a little sub menu comes up, select the HDMI category and select HDMI 2.0, that worked for me!

      @@greggwitfoth9997 thank you.. admittedly I only spent a couple hours with it last night..but like you found the brightness to low. And the Electronic Sharpness is useless. I was watching TH-cam from it's downloaded app and it was unbearable. Like worse than 480p. So I think I need to do some more playing and hook up some HD Content via HDMI as you suggest!
