      TTBear2 and what's the verdict? Which PJ did you pair it with and which screen did you use in the past? Thx

    • @TTBear2
      @TTBear2 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@brois841 Hmmmm. The screen surface is amazing. The lenticular technology works really, really well. Unfortunately, the Vividstorm mechanism is lacking in terms of quality - lots of issues, replacement screens (yes, plural). The screen material is identical to the Elite Screens Starbright CLR material (I ordered a sample to compare). I will wait for the Elite Screens floor riser - hopefully, the chassis is better made, although Vividstorm did say that they make screens FOR Elite Screens.....
      I paired it with one of the new LG HU85LA projectors. After set up, the picture really is stunning. Unfortunately, because of a manufacturing defect in the Vividstorm screen, the upper support beam twisted, so the screen surface wasn't totally flat, making image adjusting very difficult.
      Link to a few screen shots, before any real tweaking:

      This is with some ambient light. This is a pic of the lights that were on, directly behind the couch:

    Will it work upside down? I mean mount it on ceiling and roll it down. The logic behind is that people should not trip on it and damage it or injure themselves. The screen is impressive, thumbs up for it.

      I don't have a folding screen from XY screens to compare it, but If you meant about the ALR fabric quality on my 100inch fixed frame screen from XY-Screens VS 120 inch folding screen from VividStorm i will tell you this:
      VividStorm ALR fabric and XY-screen ALR fabric are the same in terms of color, structure, fabric material, resolution, picture quality and etc. The only difference is that XY-screen fabric has a additional plastic foil on the back to make it more stiffer as it needs to be pulled in all directions with the springs sense it's a fixed frame screen, so the fabric needs to be more thicker and less elastic. On other hand ALR fabric on VividStorm 120inch folding screen doesn't have that additional plastic layer on the back of the fabric, which make sense as fabric need to be more flexible and be able to fold down without any damage.

    Nexi Tech,
    2 Question: 4K Laser Projector versus 4K OLED Television.
    1) Is the 4K projector image less harsh on your eyes when viewing than a 4K OLED TV?
    2) Do you have a preference for which rooms you would use a 4K projector compared to an OLED TV (e.g., projector in living room and OLED TV in bedroom)?

    • @banny123456
      @banny123456 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      go for projector only if you have updated room for projection, a small white room (like that shown in video) is huge mistake, the light will bounce from white walls and ceiling back on the projector screen and making contrast a joke. Go for QLED, no OLED, something from Samsung, Sony or LG they have amazing picture quality and for 2-3k$ you will get also a big screen. Personally, I will go for Samsung Q70 or Q80 series. The projector is fewer hars for your eyes.

      I don't have a folding screen from XY screens to compare it, but If you meant about the UST ALR fabric quality on my 100inch fixed frame screen from XY-Screens VS 120 inch folding screen from VividStorm i will tell you this:

      Usually on the underside of projectors where the information label is ,there is a flap held on by a screw, this gives access to the inside of the projector and you can blow compressed air onto the prism / lens to remove dust.

      Not too much maintenance is needed but it's good to clean a particle of dust of the screen fabric from time to time. I found that wide fine soft hair painting brush works great for removing any dust that gets on the screen, I clean my screen by dragging the brush in horizontal pattern over the micro lines. It's very simple and effective method.

      They are pretty much the same in terms of picture quality and properties of the optical fabric. They only difference is that 100" fabric has extra layer of plastic foil on the back of the screen sense the screen needs to be stretched on the frame, and fabric on the 120 inch does not have that additional layer of plastic foil on the back, I presume that needs to be more flexible so that can roll up and down without damage.

I know it can, but how will the motors and tension wires react to gravity? Or it just acts the way it is. It would only make sense if you could permanently ceiling mount the projector as well because you would be constantly having to store it away for safety otherwise.
