I feel the same, but just so you know, she was known to have hated to be called Mama Cass. She felt it perpetuated the Big Mama stereotype. She's just so amazing.
I know I will get some blowback for this but Whitney Houston's version of "I will always love you" is an example of too much for the song being sung. Just because you can belt it out doesn't mean you should all the time. If you can't stop yourself, choose your songs wisely.

I’m definitely not trying to take away from Mama Cass’ performance, it’s probably my favorite version of this song, but it’s actually really impressive when singers can make their voice crazy loud, or do insane whistle notes, but it’s just about time and stamina. Gosh I wish she had the chance to see all the positive comments she would have gotten today rather than the insults she got back then. Her voice just sends you to another realm. ❤
Comments about her voice have always been positive. Body positivity comments nowadays would be based on woke positivity, not genuine appreciation for how she looks. She's overweight. She overconsumed food. Fair enough if that's your kink, but it isn't most peoples.

Mama Cass had the most beautiful singing voice of all time. She's never been topped. When she sings people stop what they're doing and listen.

I think the la de dum dum's were Cass's musical/instrumental additives, i.e., "arrangements" she wanted to hear played by other instruments; I think she loved each and every note of this song, and was adding her personal touches to it continually. What a unique singer. RIP Cass.
God, how I would have loved doing a duet with this lady back in the 70's!
Too Little Too Late, ah...Of all of the songs out there from the 70's this is one that SHOULD be sung in Italian, French and Spanish too?
Dream-a Memorial to Mama Cass.

I recently discovered this song on spotify and fell in love with this specific version. Now that I watch this seemingly kind, sparkly eyed woman sing her heart out, I've fallen ever so much more in love with this! Watching this video made my heart happy. ❤
She was my favorite mama back in the day. I never thought about her weight.her voice and persona is what made you love her❤❤❤
Cass was a real darling.,What is wonderful voice she had.
Beautifull song
Beautifull woman
Hartbreaking story about her short life..
Lovely daughter...
We'll dream a little dream off you!!!❤
what a wonderful voice, the lyrics of the song are beautiful 😍❤️

One of those situations in which, the song becomes synonymous with the singer. Can't DREAM without thinking of Mama Cass, anymore, can we ? She made us feel we were all up there dreaming along with her, didn't she ?
Singing a memorial to her is almost a "sacrilegious gesture" isn' t ?
I meant only respect for this beautiful lady.
Yes, back when BREATHING was important and SCREAMING in microphones was not ?
NO one should ever sing this song without giving credit TO Mama Cass...using her pictures etc. I tried...but I don' t like "hearing " singers EMULATING HER.

I'm a vocalist and I'm always looking for things that inspire me. This woman has it going on! And she's really singing the part. In today's world there's too many phonies out there. Mama Cass Elliot was an original authentic performer.
her voice control is amazing
Wow..just beautiful 😮
This is so amazing. I was a kid when the Mama's and Papa's were in their heyday and I liked some of their songs but never realized Cass Elliott's talent. Simply one of the best ❤
Totally amazing, not only back then but right this minute. The whole world misses that girl and her voice. I just hope that she knew that before she was gone.
One of the most beautiful voices ever.

THANK YOU SO MUCH for posting this!!! This is my favorite performance of this song by Cass. There was a version of this same performance that was removed a couple weeks ago due to copyright issues, and I was so bummed out. This made my whole year, and it’s been a tough one. Thank you so much!! I can’t even tell you how happy this makes me.
I just came here to say thanks again. :)
YES. Thanks for reminding me; sometimes I forget to say thank you!
One of a kind and ...Remember the " Spirit" never dies.
HEAVENLY...Still...They're probably accompanying her on the harp now.
We could sure benefit from her "Loving compassion for humanity now!"
She was from the "Make love Not War " Generation.
