    I have a HF all steel hacksaw that I got when they were first starting out in the late 70's. The stores were just a warehouse type setting with crates all over the place and loaded with whatever tool you needed. I paid a whole dollar for the hacksaw and figured it would be broken in less that 6 months. I still have that saw in my work van over 40 years and I still don't understand how it is the most durable and comfortable than anything else out there?????? Overall, 90% of my tools are Craftsman from the 70-80s.

    This is one of the best impact drivers ive ever purchased. 2 battery and charger for $145 and they threw in the tool at no extra cost. I typically use my makita drill for working on the motorcycles and cars. This tool beats the daylights out of that drill.
    I also have the earthquake XT. Another great tool but overkill for regular bolts and nuts. Im incredibly happy i bought it. Light weight, compact, ultra powerful. Fantastic tool. The auto torque feature is the best thing out there. I can't recommend this tool enough.

    I got the 1/2 inch impact too, paid 119.00 for the battery and charger and got the tool for free. Can't beat the 5 year warranty the hassle free returns if needed. HF has really stepped it up in quality. I don't know how the tool trucks stay in business except for their at the site selling. Most cities have a HF store. I have 3 in Central Florida with in 10 miles from my house. While I hate to buy Chinese stuff, most of the other power tools and or batterys made in China anyway.

I do like the Snap-On equivalent, but at over $500 for just the impact gun can't can't justify it as a DIY-er. Also, the warranty for the Snap-On impact gun is only 2 years as opposed to the Hercules 5 year warranty.

      Be aware there are two generations of this tool. I tested the first gen. People are telling me now that the second gen isn't as powerful. Some are telling me it's downright wimpy and others are saying that it's still more than enough for where and how they'll use it. So if you get one and it's less powerful than the one I show in the video, you'll know why. I think the new one has a model number that ends in B2. Also, I think the deal is on now that if you buy a battery and charger you can get the tool for free.

    Yep I have the hart brushless and thinking about getting this don’t think I’d need anything more as all I’m working on is lawn tractors. It’s supposed to have like 450 ft lbs loosening torque. The hart brushless is supposed to be like 180 ft lbs and even that was enough to take the blades off 2 lawn tractors but couldn’t do the third lawn mower deck I tried. I think the Hercules should be able to.

    After watching this I probably do have a lemon. Purchase this a while ago and couldn't take my lug nuts off. At the time they had a killer deal for 40% off of the ultra torque so I pick that bad boy up. That has way more power than I need and it's pretty large for small areas. So I'll go exchange exchange the compact and hopefully it was just a QC issue. I bought it because of torque test channels reviews versus Milwaukee and as a DIY guy saving a few hundred bucks and getting 95% of the performance I'm happy.

    I'm happy with my Hercules impact driver and 1/2 High Torque impact wrench. Both have the 5a battery. However, this 1/2 compact impact wrench is not very strong. Tried it and returned it the next day when it struggled to take off lugs on some cars. I ended up purchasing the Dewalt DCF891 Mid Torque (800ft/lb) with the 5a Powerstack battery which is as strong as the feedback all around says. If it continues to perform this good, the Hercules High Torque will come out only for certain tasks

    I bought the HCB84B2 (new version). I guess I got one of those lemons. Fully charged 2.5 volt set to level 3 struggled or failed to take lug nuts torqued at 110 lbs. I repeated with another fresh 2.5. Same result. I want to like this tool. It’s balanced, fits in tighter spaces and appears well made. I like the auto torque feature on the b2 model. But, it has to do the job. I’m exchanging the one purchased and also buying an 8 amp battery. If it still is feeble, I’m taking it back for an ultra. Thanks for your work here. Just wanted you to know some of the bad results are valid.

    • @3rdpig
      @3rdpig  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That sucks. Mine lacks the "2" at the end of the model number. I guess I better treat it nice, it might be the last of it's kind. Kind of a shame too, the thing is so small and so powerful, why did they have to go and mess with it?

    • @baroquenhorse657
      @baroquenhorse657 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for your reply! So I bought the 8amp battery and it performed better. So it seems the tool needs more current than can be supplied with the 2.5 amp battery. Maybe the 4 amp would work also, but I wasn’t buying two batteries. I don’t believe it would spin off a 500 lb bolt, but for its small size and price (~175 with the battery but not the charger) it does what I need.

      @3rdpig  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@baroquenhorse657Glad to hear it's working better for you! I've only got the 5ah battery but it works well with that. And I don't believe mine would spin off a bolt torqued to 500ft/lbs either. But I do think it would do half that without a problem. And considering it's small size, that's more than good enough for me cause I hate dragging one of the giant impacts out when it's not necessary or can't fit.

    How do you like that Hart impact? I've heard reviews that are all over the spectrum on those.

    • @3rdpig
      @3rdpig  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I've got 2 of the 1/4" Hart impacts, the original brushed and then the 2nd gen brushless. I've reviewed both of them and I still use them. The brushed doesn't have a huge amount of power but enough for most jobs and it's easy to control. The brushless is smaller and has a ton of power, too much for a lot of things. And while it does have variable speed, you still have to be careful using it for things like self tapping screws, it's very easy to strip or break them. I doubt I'd buy the brushed version today unless I got it for some stupid low price. But then again, I've gotten all my Hart tools at stupid low prices.
