Drivers side of the trans you should have a sensor close to the bell housing and shift linkage and the other is driver side toward the rear they are about a foot maybe foot and a half apart from each other

I have a 93 Silverado and same problem here it would move go in reverse and forwards but the rpm would just go up. The speedometer would not move at all and the truck won’t shift into gear.
I ran low on fluid but when I filled it started giving me problems. With the engine light on its 2nd gear all the time. If I clear the code I get 1-2 and 4 it skips 3 and fourth feels like it slips. Is this along the lines of what your issue was? Code reads solenoid B stuck open.
Nah mine would stay in 2nd and never shift no matter what. If it is slipping its possible the clutch packs got damaged when it was low on fluid. Its very possible that stuck solenoid could cause this as well. If its stuck open then the pressure for the transfluid wouldnt be enough to keep the trans from slipping. The solenoids are the cheapest option to try first and hopefully the trans is fine overall
I just put a 4l60e out of a ls1 Camaro into my 2001 Silverado with a 5.3. The truck idles fine but soon as I put it into gear the truck bogs down and dies. But last night I got it to drive fine in 1st and 2nd manually only though, but this morning I tried to drive my truck and it did the bogging thing and died again. Any ideas?
I have a 2003 chevy 2500hd 6.0-4l80. Heres my weird problem: Truck has high revs when shifting from first to second especially from a dead stop. It’ll go up to 3500-4000rpms before it shifts into next gear. The TC has been replaced recently as well because the fluid within the trans pan was burnt very much dark red so we assumed TC. Prior to the TC replacement, truck had no pull when in drive. Basically like, you switch from park to drive, release brake, truck pulls itself. It never did that until the TC was replaced. So thats good now. When you shift manually at a dead stop through 1,2,3 on the dash, you can hear and feel the gears being shifted into, so its like, the truck understands what gears its in. But as soon as you pull away from a stop, the truck is going but the RPM’s go up pretty high before it shifts into the next gear. Fluid and filter was replaced, truck is very much drivable but it just sounds like your peeling tires from every stop and go because the engine revs up high every time you leave from a stop (it also has a open exhaust system so you can obviously hear it wind up). We have no idea what it is or what it could be. No codes, no engine light. Long revved shifts from first to second. Any ideas? Already spent $840 on repairs so far.
Hmmmm it sounds like it could be the solenoid have you tried replacing the ones in the valve body. With how dirty the fluid was you may want to. It sounds like a high stall torque converter with out the high stall converter. Which is why im thinking solenoids
@@southerngearz Thats what I personally am suspecting, but I also suspect that there may be a trans code, but our $80 scanners wont pick them up (ive heard that can happen sometimes). Also forgot to note that the 4l80’s have that notorious wiring harness leak, I have seen puddled fluid inside the connector before (which also heard it can cause issues when it leaks) so i have ordered the following: Wiring harness, 1-2A solenoid, TCC solenoid, and fluid pressure solenoid. I also went and grabbed the input and output speed sensors. Generally the 4l80’s have a reverse gear issue, seems like when when most have failed the reverse was first to go out, the reverse in my transmission is so strong and quick to respond, so thats good news as well. Truck has been with a mechanic for two weeks now, parts will be in tomorrow and Friday, he’ll slap them on and see what happens, im also having him remove the manifold pressure switch in the pan and clean the buttons during the solenoid and wiring harness install. He has his thoughts, I have mine. Im thinking that the bottom left pin on the connector which is the 1-2A solenoid pin has been wicked up with fluid leaking especially with it being at the bottom and has delayed a signal or some sort to the actual solenoid, and thus confusing both the ECM AND TCM and thus not able to throw a code. Some of the shifting is intermittent symptoms, sometimes your like “hey we got progress” then an hour later it may rev up to get into second gear. Which to me sounds more electrical than mechanical unless it was a pump issue. But i feel like if it would be a pump, ALL gears would act up, not just first to second. If you manually go into first and drive, does same exact thing, so first gear does exist, it’s definitely not a missing gear or “slipping out of it”. Yeah torque converter was our first suspect, prior, the truck wouldnt even move at all in first gear. I mean 5000rpm and launching you forward. TC was replaced and the truck will crawl on its own and it’ll definitely move without slinging you forward for sure.
