    There's actually a much quicker and easier way to do this, as long as you have a soldering iron. ON the voltmeter itself you can see some small screws, remove them and it will give you access to the small circuitry for the little LCD displaying the voltage and then the actually key ignition. All you have to do is open up the replacement voltmeter the same way, and de-solder the two components. Then on the old one, de-solder the faulty parts and swap over.

    Okay, mine just broke tonight in an accident and I was looking for the quick disconnect I found out there were none. You guys make awesome stuff, please make this a quick disconnect. Replacing like the video is a ton of work and I am mechanically inclined. I am going to do is put the new one on and spice it to the Old wire. Thanks guys. Love your videos love your products. But could you please make this a quick disconnect. Thank you so much and keep up the good work.

    Just repaired my scooter with this tutorial! Very helpful, the only thing I'd change is making the tutorial more detailed. I had no idea what orientation to put the metal prongs in the controller. I found out through trial and error and I had to electrical tape it just in case.
    Also, how do I put the fabric sheaths back on the wires and make them stay? I can't get the fabric into the hole on the deck too.

    Quick tip for rubber handle bars, put an air pump in the hole, one push and they pop right off.

    When i plug the new voltmeter, it shorts and almost starts a fire. Why is this happening?

    • @VoroMotors
      @VoroMotors  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Chris,
      Thanks for commenting! Whenever connecting wires together where one has power flowing through it, something like a spark or pop would generally be considered normal, depending on its intensity. One thing we might suggest is disconnecting the battery connectors from the rest of the scooter before proceeding with anything else in terms of disconnecting or re-connecting wires. You would still need to reconnect these at the end of your replacement, but it might help make the whole process more manageable.
      We showcase this in our recent controller replacement video for the Cruiser here: th-cam.com/video/qu4mBHnt63M/w-d-xo.htmlh
      If you still are having trouble or have any questions or concerns, we would definitely recommend reaching out to our technical support team at support@voromotors.com where we would be happy to help you any way we can!
      Hope this helps!

    I’m new to this what is the voltmeter for ?

    • @MattPolandMI
      @MattPolandMI 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Voltmeter has two main components. First is the ignition switch that is key as an anti theft measure. Second is a reader of the battery level in voltage which is redundant with the the main display but is also more accurate. Some have bypassed the voltmeter. I’m not sure how. Maybe just hot wired to always be active and it seems they didn’t have issues but I imagine that would be a quiet little battery drain. Perhaps insignificant.

    I can’t even Fuckin tell you how much I don’t want to do this! I’ve had this piece of shit for a month and it’s been down more than I’ve been able to ride it. If I wanted to sit and tinker with piece of shit equipment all the time… as opposed to just being able to have a reliable scooter to ride that doesn’t break 3 miles down the road.. then I guess I’d be happy with this. If you don’t live in a coastal area where apparently all escooter shops are and you don’t really like to sit around and fix broken shit all the time, then stay away from escooters!

    Is anyone else having an issue where the voltmeter just drops from 48 to 15, then off? I think it’s a dead cell in the battery, but I want to make sure I’m correct before buying a $500 battery from voro.

    Would this void my warranty if I did this repair myself? I very handy and really comfortable doing repairs like this

    • @VoroMotors
      @VoroMotors  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      If your voltmeter is broken on the scooter it likely wouldn't have been an issue that is covered by the warranty. You can send in the scooter to us or another shop to have it repaired, but if you're confident in your skills it would very likely be faster and more convenient to repair it yourself. If you think the volt meter issue you are experiencing is an issue that should be covered by the warranty, send an email to support@voromotors.com and they can help you look into the issue.
