We do not use a manual switch anymore for this external battery setup as the manual switch is not able to take the high current discharge of our scooters. You will be provided with a parallel wire harness to connect both internal and external batteries together. Check out our external batteries here:

Nice tutorial bro. Do you think that this same setup would work with a dualtron mini. Do all escooters have positive and negative wires feeding from battery to controller and are they always yellow. So If I am watching this right you cannot just set it up to a external battery never have to switch between them. My Segway Ninebot external battery just clipped on and that's the end of it, one charger, one on/off, no switching between batteries ?

I am a little confused on how to hook up the external battery in parallel Also, was planning on putting one of the "external' batteries 'internally' to my 10x and it's not fitting inside the deck. The reason you need to turn on two batteries is that these batteries has different Capacity or different brands. Its more advisable when making battery pack or adding batteries to a pack that you have same battery brand and same voltage. I know you have two different ports but what problem may arrive is when you drain your battery to the last volt. Li ion would exert until to last lower 2v or 2.8 when they reach that its dead! I don't really think most e scooter users really know this important information about battery.
So make sure both batteries keep healthy charge always

So when both internal and external batteries are fully charged and in parallel do they discharge together automatically from internal to external or do i have to switch manually from the pouch controller switching from battery 1 to battery 2?
in parallel, they discharge together. no switching needed. If you add a solid state switch like here: th-cam.com/video/ej0sHwwTOJY/w-d-xo.html then they will discharge one at a time.

I believe you can. I have done it with batteries of the same v and the same AH. This time I want to do a mix of one 10.4 AH and a 7.5 AH and run them parallel. I believe this is doable too.

Hello, I'm not very good at electricity, I don't understand everything, it's two batteries so you have to switch to the other once the first empty is that right? and for the connection should not be made with the two batteries at the same charge level to avoid damaging them? Is there a risk of disconnecting and reconnecting the external battery as desired, even if it does not have the same charge level as the internal battery? thank you

Will SimRacing because the 2 batteries are independent connected to the scooter will it not affect the other one, the same voltage is needed when you put the 2 batteries in line. Now you have a switch to choose the battery who give power to the scooter. That’s why the second battery have also an charging port. In my opinion it’s easier to connect them in line. The charging time will dubbel because you have to charge them at the same time.
I think this is the safest way, ( battery switch selection) which is charging and draining the batteries independently..whereas when you connect the two in series thus charging and draining them at the same time will create inconsistency and imbalance when charging and discharging because each has his own bms i think..thus complications may occur..

Is it possible to put 60v battery pack if you have 52v battery in deck, and switch to other for increased power??
If u are talking about replacing your existing battery for a higher voltage battery, it can be done as long as the controller and all applicable pieces are rated for 60volts or higher. If u need more range volts aren't your answer. A higher mAh is. Simply put, Voltage will increase power and mAh increases range.
@Seppo Santapukki if the internal components can handle 60volts then anything up to that is fine. Just don't go over the 60volts or you will fry everything thats not rated for that much juice. Short answer you're good to go!
@Seppo Santapukki The zero 10x comes with a 60v version in it's collection and from what i've read there is no difference in the components so i would say theoretically you'll be fine adding a 60v battery. You'd just need to go into the throttle menu and set it to 60v in the voltage selection menu (P03) .. Hope this helps 😊

So if I get this for a Varla Eagle One and wire it parallel, will it charge when I’m charging my factory battery? Does the wiring harness for the 10x also fit the Eagle one?
It’s the same for varla and zero 10x
Without the switch they use you won't be able to charge both batteries. You will have to unplug one of the packs and charge it separately.. I don't recommend using a switch though. If you want both packs to charge at the same time you will have remove the BMS from one of the two packs, and directly wire. With two BMSs in the battery system it will cause conflicts and shut off the charging.
Can you add extra battery without a switch just connecting batteries in parallel?
Yes you can. I don't know why this guys makes shit so complicated. You run two batts parallel and your scooter stays on 5 bars which seems and feels like for ever.

Hi , it is possible to add an external battery 60V 25ah on my 10x 60v 21ah?
You need the same V and Ah so if your is 60v 21ah then the external need to be 60v 12ah, LG or Samsung makes no difference.

Just installed mine (got 52v 18ah). The video is a little out of date since my cable is different plus my external cable is different (this might varies depending on who you get the scooter since they loved switching some bits). Would recommend if you know or someone who tinkers with electronics within the scooter because if you plug it in wrong it could damage your battery. Lastly, it will make cable management HARD, you gotta force it down at the last step and force the cover back on to keep it down.

Good question. It actually improves balance especially at higher speeds as it helps to stabilise the front to prevent wheelies. But it also does add stress to the stem yes, that’s why we recommend to use a stronger folding clamp

yes sure, the basic relay which is a modified version of the anti-spark solid state switch can take 24-52V batteries at 180A discharge. The high rated relay can take up to 72V batteries at 300A discharge. both of these are manually operated by a control switch.

Do you really need that many wires and two switches instead of one for this simple application?
for safety purposes, we use 2 switches. these switches are not rates for high current. Each controller can probably pull about 25A or more and these switches are actually only rated for 8-10A.
@@FalconpevSg Did you guys think about using a high current relay switch residing under the floor board that can be triggered by single low voltage thin wire going to the handle bars? That would eliminate the two switches and the back and forth power cable from the internal battery to the pouch and back since the switching will be done down there. That would simplify the wires by just needing two - a thick one for power and a low voltage thin one for the switching.
Vripiat Buzoi yes its best like that . I am auto electric so you can get cheap relay but make sure it can handle 60v at least otherwise it will arc with big current and burn out .

@@Blox117 The switches make no sense to me either. Nor the extra wiring. All you need is to put the battery in a parallel circuit.

That’s entirely up to how you design the battery pack. It’s not dependent on the battery bag.

wrong switches. For this use there is a single switch that keeps the sides separate but switches both at the same time.

@@FalconpevSg A single switch can change everything so don't risk switches being in wrong position. 2PDT or 2PCO or even 3PCO if needed (why two leads per 7p battery?). Anyway, 2 pole, double throw with Centre Off - motor side middle, with batteries on the ends. Switch at one end one battery, middle both off, other end other battery. That's only change, rest looks totally impressive, good work.

I was planning to do this on my hover-1 and an idiot crashed in to me with hes car he was coming so slow so I taught he was looking for parking I was coming up the hill about 12 mile so no to fast and this guy turn in front of me so fast I was able to react and he did to but he try to tell me I was coming to fast but this idiot didnt even put hes blinker to turn to the left I landed on tap of the hood with my arm and the scooter took all the damage lucky to have not gotten run over I got little shaked by the incident I didnt wanted to argue with this guy so i just left now having to buy another one since I bought this to not use public transportation to go to work and save some bucks who ever own one scooter just becarful
