Another excellent restoration. I have never seen a bean slicer before. I think one reason this slicer is so ornate is because the manufacturer was proud of his product and wanted it to stand out. He would be especially proud to see what a beautiful restoration you accomplished. Thanks from USA.
You can buy Frenched beans pre-cut in Canada (and I assume the US), frozen and canned. French bean cutters are still sold today and are popular with people who grow their own beans or buy fresh from a farm. My mom had one!
A great job Radek, is it really from the 19th Century? That makes it really old, more than 123 years! As Harry Harrison says below, it is wonderful the amount of artistry the manufacturer put into designing and making what is just a kitchen tool. I like the gold painted details you added and I appreciate Veronica taking the time to demonstrate that the slicer still works. Well done you two, Nick
Hello Nick, it was difficult for Veronica this time to find any detailed information from the history. She found a very similar slicer that was dated 1860. This slicer was not used in our country. So maybe that's why nothing specific could be found. Happy first day of spring to you all my friend :)
This video was fitting because tonight I had French style green beans with supper. Thank you for another nice restoration of an antique kitchen appliance.
Am always excited to see when you post a new video since I know that it will be another museum quality restoration of a mechanical marvel from another age. And once again, another excellently researched background story.
Very nice work! I love to see these antique artifacts being brought back to life. I'm 68 y.o. and everytime I can restore one of these gadgets in possession of my friends... I do it just for the pleasure of seeing 'em renewed and reused. 'll it be because my desire of to be renovated & reused again? 🤪
Radek & Veronika, excellent restoration. Truly appreciate your channel and how an item would be used. You both are fantastic and wish you a truly long and happy life together. Thank you for the posts. Veronika, I really miss your recipes.
These videos keep getting better and better, both in the quality of the production, and the results of Radek's expertise in restoring machinery! And it wouldn't be as good if we didn't get to watch Veronika demonstrating the merchandise! Great job!
Awesome job as always and great to see your beautiful wife telling the history and doing a demonstration. You guys make a great team. I have enjoyed every video.
you have done it again! perfect restoration job for a most beautifull work of Art! the fresh Red color with Gold Trimming gives it an Antique -Industrial look , in my very humble opinion however Black Color with Green trimming would have given it a more Antique -Artistic touch! thanks!
Respect ! And a heartfelt thank you to you both, for another well presented & very informative video. In England, we have what are called "Runner Beans", which are very similar but usually longer than the type Veronika so beautifully demonstrated with.
I didn't think I would like the red color but with the gold accents, it's quite pretty. Definitely would brighten up a mundane kitchen task! Great job.
love this ……..perfect restoration….. if you two ever come to orlando, Florida…USA….you are more than welcome to stay with my wife and I…….❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Me encantan sus videos. Ese detalle de subtitular en español es muy importante para la gente de habla hispana. Me queda un duda, para qué aplicaron aceite de linasa?
Oh Make My weekend!!! What a cool video! I was so hoping that you would add the gold to it, (it was such a pretty piece) and you did. (^.^) You really have the soul of an artist. Love seeing Veronika demonstrating and explaining the gizmo, you all are the best. Thank you so much for posting! e
Ho! I am so happy to see you again. This is a long time I don’t see you! I Love what you do, this is another wonderful job! Veronica don’t change, she stay a wonderful and beautiful woman! Thanks to be there!💋❤️💋
Very nice restoration! So glad you caught the lead paint and removed it appropriately! We call those "string beans" in the US. You would usually run the raw beans through that machine and then cook them I think.
That's fantastic! You might get better results if you sharpen the blades, although, it's probably not going to be used much... A beautiful piece in your collection. Thanks for sharing...
Great restoration! Nice music from the 19th century too. "Minuit, chrétiens!" 1844 by Adolphe Adam. “O Holy Night” for English speakers. You both produce such great content!
You do such a beautiful ❤️ job at restoration. I absolutely love your work and you are such an inspiration on me. But I really enjoy your wife because she is probably the most beautiful ❤️ woman on this planet.
Amazing Radek, I went on to You tube and saw this it had been posted '1 minute ago' but there were 15 likes, the vid is 12.5 minutes long 😂 this shows how good you are, people will like what you do without even watching it, ( I was number 20 by the way, after I'd watched it) lovely to see Veronica again and this time a 'botanical lesson rather than historical'.
Yes, apparently there are also people who trust me without having seen the video :) That will please :) Unfortunately, Veronica could not find anything closer to the history this time. Thanks for watching Kevin :)

Thank you Pat for the kind words. Hugs from the Czech Republic :)
Hello from France. Beautiful restoration. Lead paint on an object to be used to cut food!! he was not afraid of anything in the past!!
It is true. Perhaps they did not know the impact of these dangerous substances, including asbestos.
It makes what is labeled as "French beans" here in North America. Thank you for the video.
Yes. I have a modern day version of this.
Thanks Bob, it's not used in my country.
