Nice! I can’t tell you how useful the last one was. I did so many mods myself I’d never had confidence to do myself because of these screw-by-screw disassemble videos.
Nice video Steve .. thanks for that... it's great to see that they minimised the amount of screws on the panels and made them all same type.
Thank you guys. I will be revisiting this when I get my bike and start fitting accessories 👍🏼
You were the first place I came before I stripped down my 1300. I love you guys!
Awesome video Steve, thanks for sharing! Well done to Tom too for his eagle eyes and patience with you all around him with the camera. 😉👍👍
Glad you enjoyed it
Great content as usual. Greetings from 🇨🇭
Great video! Appreciate your time in making these for our education.
Excellent work chaps
Thank you!. Should be receiving my 1300 any day and will be tearing into it for product development. This is helpful.
Very useful video, thanks. The quality rubberised 'poppers' on my 1997 K1200RS's full faring still pop off and on with ease after 26 years, as do the fasteners on my K1300S Motorsport after 9 years. Those on the new GS made me wince as you pulled them out; - after a couple of UK winters, those fasteners will surely be like Nut Brittle Toffee straight out of the fridge. I bet BMW are already pricing replacement panels accordingly . . .
Fantastic video! I wish you'd show how you disassembled the front half of the bike, since I'd like to replace the DIN aux plug with a USB Port. Additionally, showing us how to access, remove and replace the battery would be a great help when the time comes. Thanks again!
Well done guys!
Very thank You for this instructions ...
All the poppers remind me of the Japanese bikes. Nice that BMW finally started using the same size screws in most places. Makes reassembly a lot easier.
whats interesting is how easy it will be to change your chosen colour scheme from Trophy to Triple Black etc - great walk through guys, I will be taking of my silver shrouds shortly to apply a carbon vinyl wrap, so this is very helpful
Nice video. Enjoyed it with a cup of tea and some chocolate biscuits. Having taken my 1250GS to bits many times before , the 1300 looks a bit easier....However, the new looks will have to grow on me 🙈
Ha, ha, ha, ha, brilliant fellas, love the 1300 GS. Mmmm, not sure I wouldn't be one of the customers rocking up with a bag full of screws, nuts and bolts!!!
Thanks, very insightfull ;)
Thank you😊
Great vid, thanks! I'm glad BMW finally started copying the Japanese rather than inventing just for the sake of being different. My '84 FJ1100 had panels with that kind of poppers. Maybe I'll finally buy a BMW after 40+years in Japanese bikes (and triumphs, to be fair).
Excellent. Tom is a magician. Poppers are an invention of the Devil especially for BMW.
Still prefer my GS/PD which has no plastic panels and the 35 litre tank is removable without tools….🕊️
Yay! D3/4/7 to the rescue! 😅
How are the blindspot warning lights in the mirrors connected? Is just a power cable and a led that can be repurposed with a set of more durable mirrors or do you have to lose that function if you install a set of Doubletake?
Haste fein Gemacht 😃👍
On the extra rear brake light, can it go in place of the red reflector that sits above the number plate, with the red reflector placed underneath the number plate? Seems it would look more like a brake light higher up between the turn signals rather than having it down under the number plate. Basically swapping the extra light and the red reflector locations. Just a thought.
Steve arrange a trip to the factory and video everything in making the bike 👍😂
Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you. By the way do you not trust the factory mounting locations? I'm going to put a set of kristas on there
MERCI ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👍
Thankyou, a great video guys. Quick question, how far in do you have to go before you can access the air filter, is there one or two filters or any provision for a pre filter? Cheers for great content.
We haven’t opened the air filter yet
Great video. A quick question will you be doing anything with the handguard mounted indicators IE additional DRL's combined with indicators??? Thanks 👍
Yes, we’re working with some one who has some ideas making them a white DRL that flashes amber
Man I love your channel but you have to take care of the cameras focus, it's very anoing when the focus point is in the back and you are in the frame middle talking to us....just a tip from a photographer! Keep up mate.
I know it frustrates the hell out of me too. I swear I am pushing the focal point to my face but also my camera has facial recognition to so it’s double frustration.
Very interesting ..at least there aren’t any angled slide and push lugs ..
Have you seen the twin pegs for adventure bikes they are from Norway 🇳🇴
Good video but it would be even better if you could also add the torque required for each screw ( getting this info seems to be almost impossible... )
..is it possible to show strip down the rear frame ?
Oooh that headlight 🤢love the color scheme tho 👍
Does it has the sport suspension?
Great video - thank you. Please don't rely on the autofocus when you keep changing the distance to the camera resulting in blurry footage.
Noted!
Who will make aftermarket nice looking headlight?
Hi Steve, what is the model of the milwaukee driver are you using and can you adjust the tourqe seetting on it?
Milwaukee 4933447135 - M12bsd-0 Screwdriver 1 Speed 12V 20nm ver-o
There’s a link to it in the video titled Massive Installation from 3 years ago
If the BMW engineers see your video... from the 1350 GS there is a windshield wiper and a tank for the windshield washer system.😉
Steve, how did you mount the T3, I didn’t see any bolt on the reg plate?
Strong 2 sided 3M pads.
Nice video ! Do you know if we can remove the DB killer of this exhaust ?? Or the bolt isn’t here anymore ?
I haven’t looked yet but I have heard the sound is taken care of more within the cat. Even with the can off it doesn’t get much louder. This is just what I’ve heard. Maybe we’ll pop the can off next week and fire it up and have a listen.
Beautiful machine! At 5:19, Don't forget to mention the "Hook and Loop"(Velcro style) on each of those first to panels. Crucial to make certain those patches do not pull off when you remove each panel. The panels will flap around if not there. They are sneaky little buggers😁
I kept waiting for a warning to klaxon to sound announcing Verboten! Nein! Warranty ist Kaput!
Sceen wash 😅🎉❤
Which brand are engine crash bars, please?
Bmw factory fitted.
You sure this work and install doesn’t void the warranty , I have a dispute with bmw about the battery not starting not charging they say camera I installed via the bmw usb screwed the battery! I’ll let you know what happens
It’s an adventure bike. The people who ride these bikes in the way they’re intended to be ridden NEED to be able to remove panels, access components, simple modifications etc. If a dealer voids your warranty for fitting an aftermarket product, you need to think about a different dealer. Good news is most (if not all) dealers understand this bike and the requirements of the bike and their owners so you will not have any warranty issues unless you start removing crucial sensors that the bmw diagnostic tools require.
@@ABIKETHING I agree 100% Steve you obviously have a good relationship with your dealer . I haven’t given up yet from the info they sent me they installed the wrong battery that’s why it only lasted 10 months 😡. Forgot to say I live in spain and atención client is 💩even after spending 23€ k
They can only void the warranty if they can reasonably prove the modifications you did caused the fault.
Where did u acquire the exhaust hanger?
It came with the bike. Maybe it’s a Akra extra you get if you spec the Akra?
@@ABIKETHINGbmw oem w enduro gig, dealer ordered my one, their pretty proud of it $$$
Any advice to lay in the cansmart w/o taking off tank?
Screen 😂
Translator corrector ...😂 🍀⚘️
i know where to mount the sound bomb.
❤❤yyyyy
they are called Scrivets .
Ha!
Seems strange bike £20-24K does not have a centre stand, I recall that RTs no longer have a lift handle.
This is the trophy edition but has the enduro pack fitted. Centre stand is not something you’d want if you spec’d it out with the enduro package.
@@ABIKETHING Very speedy reply, impressed. Perhaps but isn’t it better for the bike to be kept level when not on use. Although if crossing parts of Iceland might be an issue but most GS bikes never venture off tarmac.
Excuse me sir, but I wanted to see how "easy" was to remove the passengers foot pegs... Because I cannot they are hell to remove those two screws,
Suddenly on the video there were disappeared..
I didn’t feel it was worthy of describing how to remove as it is easy. Just use a good size breaker bar.
What have you guys done with my bike? 😅
2 million in electronics and a $3.00 camera for Gods sake get a new GoPro with a decent light perhaps Denali can source one 😂
Steve, have you looked at servo cable removal to enhance the exhaust noise? Could you do a video on that?
Ultimate strip down that starts with an unsafe lift and no straps...very bright
The focus on this camera is horrible man ...
I know, I know. It’s driving me insane.
and us 😂@@ABIKETHING
Hello, I am a nomadic boy from Iran. I live in a deprived area of the village. I need financial help. My life has become difficult. I can't pay for my family. I have anemia, heart and kidney disease. Please help me
If I'd spent the best part of £24k on this bike, the last thing I'd do is start taking it to pieces! Even putting petrol in it would terrify me.
Interesting though to see how plasticky it is. I'd be feeling ripped off.
Far too much plastic,I’ll stick with my 1150 ADVENTURE thanks
Its still ( overall) cheap looking and ugly even though well bolted together
From our perspective of working on all adventure bikes, it’s the best by a long stretch. I accept your opinion based on looking from a far but it’s hard for us to see that now, knowing what we know and seeing what we see.
@@ABIKETHING Yes I understand but for many like myself this is a "diminished" GS. 5 new ones in a row via pcp but there wont be a 6th and I told my dealer too when they proudly showed me the new bike. And the adv version will likely be an abortion too if thats destined for the same cut-down, small and friendly look in order to capture a new generation of owners
This is not a bmw gs, this is a japanese bike at all!!! Very bad looking. I prefer my 1250 a million times...
I'm half tempted to get rid of the rear radar and put on a tailtidy.
Will need a radar delete kit for that. I’m sure someone will make it 😉
Or just order the bike without the Assist pack! Unlike the front radar housing the rear radar hump is only fitted with the Assist pack.
@@timparish172 Yeh, i mean it's nice to have (mine has it) but it looks like fugly, too. Nice to be able to remove it if you feel like it.
