Not only that but since 1973 under a cover of darkness but many would call this treason Whitlam altered our constitution to a point where we're practically OWNED by America.

Well, had a few beers one night after being frustrated and sent an email to the Senator. Needless to say that within a year they destroyed my life

Giving the thumbs up to this video seems a low bar. It deserves way more credit and kudos for the message it is trying to communicate. Like Australia, Canada (where I am) is very similar, almost always following our neighbour and big brother to the south into endless wars. With only a few exceptions. And we too have whistleblowers who have been met with vitriol and a concerted effort to make them the "bad guy". Under the guise of "protection of important and sensitive information", blah, blah.
As a fellow Canadian, I would like to second that opinion and further suggest that Prime Minister Trudeau go suck a dick. On second thought, I fear he may have done entirely too much of that already. Good luck, Canada.
Why should you care about Afghanistan? People die all the time by criminals and that’s a very normal thing. Australia and Canada care alot about their reputation because that’s literally the only thing that makes their countries successful and attract foreign workers and investors
Except it's a little too one-sided. The video makes you think it's just Australia (and the US) that is fucked, but it's WHOLE of humanity, really. There is no such a thing as a "free people state". Watching and reading silly dystopian tales for kids we fail to realize we've been living a dystopia ourselves for a good while now...
Every person watching this needs to recognise that it's not just enough to acknowledge the outrages that are being performed -- we must also stand up ourselves and be counted. For evil to triumph requires only that good men do nothing. Don't do *nothing* -- stand up and be heard!
Prosecuting government whistleblowers like Assange and Snowden is a blatant example of injustice and terrible representation... Makes my blood boil how self-serving our public "representatives" are
Is Assange unimpeachable to you? He states that reports of Russia's attempts to influence the 2016 election are nonsense. The notion that dozens of social media companies and left leaning media outlets have been leant on by the Democrats seems dubious at best.
It is so true that those who commit war crimes are often promoted, while those who refuse are expelled from the army. - I am referring to many cases in the USA.

And if you create any merchandise incorporating that INGSOC/Oceania Australien coat of arms image from the end of this video, I'll buy that sh1t 😂 Brilliant.
Here in the US of A they’ll usually just unalive you if you’re are whistleblower. If you made it jail they’ve messed something up. Even whistleblowing on a Boeing will get you to have an oopsy before the trial.
Remember that youtuber who almost got his house burned down in Australia, then they've done it again to his actual house, because he has a video that is now deleted. Criminals won in the court of law to delete that video. I wonder who else remembers.
I didn't know anything about this, but the way she describes it and narrows things down feels like how I think, and that's pretty amazing to me. It's like watching myself on a video I never did.
I worked in the Federal Government and was forced into disclosing corruption by the actual department I was working for and did nothing about the person committing fraud and hounded me and 2 other people that were forced to come forward, they made our lives so difficult that 2 of us retired early. The government has never protected whistleblowers.
The most interesting thing about the McBride court case was his defence that he was serving the interests of the Australian people as a member of the defence force. This was rejected by the court. As a member of the defence force, he serves King Charles. I hope all Australians who sign up to serve in the military are aware they are not serving the Australian people, they serve a foreigner. They are risking their lives, and will die for King Charles. 3 Cheers for The King.
Well unless things have changed since 1986 when I was in the Air force, no Australian defence force member is under any control other the Australian Parliament. I sugest you read the Defence Act 1903
That's true though. Same thing in NZ you swear allegiance to the queen (back in my day) and serve her interests. And not interests of your own country and people. That's what made me sck as well.
I assume it's the same on the whole planet. Because several years ago we had a similar case in the Netherlands and the whisle blower ended up living in an RV. He lost EVERYTHING!!! 😢😮 And the authorities did nothing 🤷🏾

Sadly this problem seems to keep happening with pretty much any government anywhere. The kinds of people who are willing to abuse power are also always the kinds of people who are willing to use that power to silence or punish people who speak out about it. After all, imprisoning or ruining the life of a whistleblower is such a small and easy thing compared the the usual kind of shady stuff these people get up to

Nah we’re too busy fighting over gender and race politics, we don’t have time for all that pointless garbage like fighting for protecting whistleblowers or taxing the rich.
This is actually accurate. An acquaintance in audit for Queensland Health reported discrepancies and was ignored. When I say ignored I'm being polite, to her it became very clear not to pursue what issues she found about illegal decisions and inappropriate appointments and more.

And the one whistleblower/lawyer they did drop the prosecution of - Witness K and Bernard Collaery - they've simply forgotten their pre-election promise to hold an inquiry into both the ASIS bugging of negotiations with Timor-Leste and the decision to prosecute them in the first place. Not only do they need to drop prosecution of all whistleblowers, transparency and accountability need to be at the forefront of all matters relating to them.
