      @@belgiumcomics2537 It's a polite way of saying they were officially reprimanded and put under tight scrutiny for the rest of their career plan.
      And no, I don't think you understand what he was saying. In a perfect world, yes, he would have done the right thing. But in this world, as a result of his whistleblowing (1) no one got fired or punished for their corruption, and (2) he got punished for reporting the crimes. So was it the right thing to do, if no good and only bad came of it? It's a systemic issue; collective action is what is needed, his whole point is that it is naïve to think that individual action does anything other than hurt the person trying to do "the right thing".

    • @neothaka
      @neothaka 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@belgiumcomics2537usually if your performance is inadequate, you're essentially placed into a performance improvement state. Can take many forms, but the bottom line is you try to improve in areas your performance is deemed inadequate. If you are still unable to meet their standard, the company can let you go. You can see how this system is easily abused by companies to get employees to quit without having to fire them (which is costly and can't be done so easily).

    I worked in the Federal Government and was forced into disclosing corruption by the actual department I was working for and did nothing about the person committing fraud and hounded me and 2 other people that were forced to come forward, they made our lives so difficult that 2 of us retired early. The government has never protected whistleblowers.

    The most interesting thing about the McBride court case was his defence that he was serving the interests of the Australian people as a member of the defence force.
    This was rejected by the court.
    As a member of the defence force, he serves King Charles.
    I hope all Australians who sign up to serve in the military are aware they are not serving the Australian people, they serve a foreigner.
    They are risking their lives, and will die for King Charles. 3 Cheers for The King.

      I sugest you read the Defence Act 1903

    Had my career ended and forced into early retirement…. 2 civilians, an O-6, and an E-9 were forced to retire early after I was out… a year later. Got a letter from D.C. a month after I was retired saying my allegations were substantiated…. Didn’t help me, but made my Airmen’s lives a little better/safer. Sounds like here in ‘mer-ca

    Sadly this problem seems to keep happening with pretty much any government anywhere. The kinds of people who are willing to abuse power are also always the kinds of people who are willing to use that power to silence or punish people who speak out about it. After all, imprisoning or ruining the life of a whistleblower is such a small and easy thing compared the the usual kind of shady stuff these people get up to
