It is the result of free market and capitalist economics, of corporate greed and human greed. It is a lack of a "common" way of thinking about common progress and development.

The issue is that he can't offer a real solution to this. If the government taxes the corporations more, we'll still be paying for it. We're literally stuck in a system that no matter what the politicians do, we the people get screwed over. If they tax the rich, they don't give it back to us. If they tax the rich, the rich will charge more for everything. If they artificially raise our wages, the rich will charge more for everything. We're stuck. When i did the economics 101 unit at university decades ago, we were taught that, under the theories of capitalist economics ‘competition’ would prevent excess profits. Which meant that, technically, billionaires shouldnt exist under capitalist economics, because competition should whittle prices and profits to a minimum. Even my professors teaching that unit openly stated the theory underlying our economic system was false - because those conditions never exist in the real world.
We live in a system, worldwide, that is a gigantic lie. And once again, people are starting to see the lie very clearly. The question is, how do we change the system peacefully, before it collapses violently, as it has done so many times before throughout history. Democracy should mean we can peacefully change this, but the unjust economic system has reached out to prevent even that.

If the Democrats had campaigned on these issues, they would have won, but they’re too afraid of upsetting their wealthy donors. Instead, they chose to focus on topics that don’t affect every American. Yes, LGBTQ rights are important, but it’s hard for people to care about that when they have to work two jobs and are still barely able to survive. The same goes for women’s reproductive rights not even all women in the U.S. care enough about this issue to vote, so how can they expect to rally men around it?
Similarly, with student loan relief, those who paid off their loans by being frugal are going to feel bitter about others receiving relief while they lived a basic life to pay theirs off as quickly as possible. And the list goes on. Issues like raising the minimum wage, fair taxation based on income, free healthcare, nationwide improvements in education with free meals for kids-these are topics that everyone can get behind.
But instead, the Democrats built their campaign around issues that primarily affect minorities. I also believe the majority of Americans don’t want their tax money being used to provide free healthcare for Israelis while funding the killing of children with American taxpayer money.

The democratic party hates populists - they're at the forefront of censorship and screwed him out of the primary twice. We could've had 8 years of Bernie but it would've meant the end of the censorship industry and empire building globally, so they pulled all the stops to make it not happen. Also sad that Bernie is too old to adopt a stronger pro human position and really put fire to the Democrats who betrayed him. If he started to run 20 years ago he'd still have it in him, but things weren't as bad then.
Now Bernie knows his life is on the line if he talks about it. Seriously, they already started to treat him like Trump when he was running against Hillary - articles were calling him an angry old man for white people, calling him a populist fascist is next and I'm serious. Remember what I wrote when they do.
When you're that age it's all or nothing - and sadly it's on the nothing side from Bernie; otherwise he'd be a lot more open about the good Trump is doing going after censorship. I bet he got a lot of threats when he approved of Elon cutting government waste - part of the that waste is the censorship industry... At BEST he's a Trump skeptic which is reasonable but not bold enough in face of this danger and what he's literally experienced.
To be honest, he should've run as republican in 2020. Instead he's going to enjoy his golden years "fighting the good fight" before going peacefully surrounded by his family. Very human, but not the hero we need.

I remember when Burnie campaigned about taxing the '$$Millionaires" & "$$Billionaires". A few years later he becomes a "$$Millionaire" and campaings again but this time he goes after the "$$Billionaires" NO mention of "Millionaires". Seriously how are liberals this dumb? Even I used to be a liberal, but ignorant is no excuse to question the people you think is campaigning for the people

We were told in the 1980s by Reagan and followers that if all that money would go to the top they would use it to provide jobs and increased standard of living for the working class. We got a trickle. They got a massive amount.

We have a $7 minimum wage that has not changed in decades, wait staff relies on tips since the basic hourly wage is $2, working people can't afford daycare or rent or healthcare. Meanwhile the price of gas and groceries goes up while the rich and famous flaunt their expensive cars and homes and fly around the world in private luxury jets.😢

    Let's go, Bernie. Third party

    • @SixStringHarmonies
      @SixStringHarmonies 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

I would have agreed some years ago.
Third party from the left will ONLY HELP THE REPUBLICANS stay in perpetual power.
They have redistricted and gerrymandered their way to power. The Electoral College gives them a shot nationally.
Even "red states" maintain their state legislatures by clustering all black, brown, and poor working class voters into 2 or 3 districts.
Then there's the billionaire-funded voter suppression, purging voter roles, archaic anti-voting laws like ID requirements, no mail-in ballots, etc.
Billionaires fund both parties, to be sure. However, if billionaires were restricted or if donations to PACS were eliminated - the Democrats would survive, not the GOP.
The US is a plutocracy. Corrupt and at the end of a broken economic system. We live under a neofeudalist two-tiered economic hellscape.
If we start peeling votes from the Democratic Party, we will all be doomed to something similar to the Handmaid's Tale. Don't doubt it for a second.
Just listen to that maniac Vance speak, listen to a Peter Thiel interview or Tom Homan. These people are ideological maniacs.

I really hope there’s not another pandemic under trump. I am an ICU nurse who cared for COVID patients. I work in a large hospital and we saw the sickest of the sick. It is so frustrating to me when the severity of the pandemic is completely dismissed. The heath care system was on the brink of collapse and there was a great deal of collateral damage that was suffered by the mishandling of the pandemic by the Trump administration and the disinformation. We had 3 extra units open. The Navy had to come in and help us. When the vaccines were released the ones who died were overwhelmingly unvaccinated. We were being threatened with violence and the care we were providing patients was obstructed by families who did not trust us. Many of the unvaccinated patients we cared for were MAGA anti-vaxxers and their families made our lives hell. We ran out of gowns and masks. We had to reuse N95s for days. I will never forget the day when a respiratory therapist told me we were down to 1 ventilator and the dark laugh we shared wondering what would happen. The amount of nurses who quit working bedside is staggering. Anyone who worked in direct patient care during the COVID pandemic has some level of PTSD. Hospital systems have found that nurses can do more with less, when pressed, and now that is the standard. Trump and MAGA ideology has had a devastating impact on the heath care system and cannot be understated. The lesson I have learned from Trump's win is that if you tell a lie over and over and over and over again, it becomes the truth. That is exactly what he did and it worked./“

If you ever wonder why the prices of homes and food and gas keep going up, consider this: Those things are essential. You can't really live without them and they know that. If you have spare money to spend on things you want, they'll jack up the price on things you NEED, because they want ever last cent you make.
If you're an aspiring business owner, looking to live the American dream of having a business and making your fortune, think again. Whatever your service or innovative product is, if no one has money to spend on your business/product, you'll never make it big. A thriving economy is when people have expendable income. The top 1% don't want to share and they're going to keep jacking up prices on things people need, just to live, and they wont leave money for anyone else. New business will fail, old businesses will be forced to sell to bloated corporate conglomerates and the economy will tank, because no one has money to buy anything, other than the essentials, all controlled by our corporate overlords. The 1% will be the ruin of not just the US, but the entire world. Their greed is a sickness that will kill us all.
