  • We are back again with another blind reaction video. We picked out 7 popular Spring fragrances for our guests to react to. Each guest was given 2 test strips for each fragrance. The 1st strip is sprayed on 10-30 seconds before, and the 2nd strip was sprayed an hour before each guest sat down to give it a chance to dry down. After a quick break, they then will go back and smell them all again to decide what is their favorite and least favorite. We hope you enjoy it!

    The reactions on Terre had me wondering if there’s still hope for designer masterpieces in the future. Im completly confused by their reactions and even more by the way they described it. Spicebox? Vanilla? Fireplace warmth? Cinnamon? Amber?
      How did they smell any of these notes. I feel like they got a dupe or a batch that is so old that it went bad already, because no one described it the right way.
      Literally everyone, regardless if he/she is into perfumes or not, can smell the earthy-woody notes with citrusy notes. Especially the grapefruit/orange is so prominent that everyone notices it.

    This kind of videos exactly detail how the world of fragrances works: 99.9% of people are NOT INTO fragrance and do not appreciate fragrances. Have them smell a Walmart deodorant and they would probably prefer that.
    That is why fragrance is a USER experience, not for compliments, not to please the others. Us, the connoisseurs, wear fragrances for ourselves.

      Your comment is so accurate but for the population of the USA, Americans love everything so neutral, they prefer to stay in the grays and are not too risky, the Middle East has the best fragrances in the world, when I went to Dubai I noticed that people over there shower in fragrances that project and perform a lot, they love agar wood (Oud) a woody resinous strong note which most Americans hate.

      I wear fragrance a lot and never get any complaints. A few compliments every now and then but that’s it. I think most people don’t mind it or enjoy it if you’re not overdoing it. Fragrances also can get better on the skin & in the dry down, so blind testing on scent strips is not the end all be all determination.

      Why why why whyyyyyyyyy do all review channels smell directly from the test strip?? It's too strong and you do not get the proper scent profile from the fragrance. The test strip should be wafted at least a foot away from the person's nose to get the idea of a person walking by with the fragrance on.

It should definitely never be underestimated. No wonder some fragrance reviewers advise you spray some on your skin and walk round the mall before deciding whether or not to purchase it from the store.

      It's more about smelling the fragrance in the air vs putting your nose directly on a fragrance. My Dior Sauvage Elixir smells so spicy and not in a good way if you put your nose on the skin you sprayed, but whenever I wear it, people absolutely love it. Some notes are meant to stay on the skin and let the other notes radiate in the outer circle around you and those radiating notes are the ones that matter 95% of the time. Remember guys people will smell the fragrance in the air, nobody's gonna rub their nose on your elbow to smell you unless you're with your date/gf.

    I really like these videos and I appreciate that these guys are everyday people that smell these perfumes and provide their honest feedback. However when it comes to Niche and some of the perfumes they review, it has to be with a person who appreciate the quality and unique aspects of the scents, which I don’t think these guys care too much about! I have started appreciate Niche perfumes more in the lasts 9 month, because I have spent time watching videos of amazing youtubers that have inspired me to go on a fragrance journey. Like one of the comments, it would be cool to understand what these guys consider their fav’s and understand the occasions/seasons and places they where them. In other words a bit of background on their real interest in fragrances. Hope this makes sense and again really like the way these are done! 😊 👍

    The only thing I will say was Terre d’hermes smells worse on paper by far than on skin. I was hesitant at the store because it smelled old manish on the test strip and a strong pine tree scent. However once I wore it for the first time it’s deff a unique pleasant scent. It’s just the right amount of strength without shoving it in your face. A slightly fresh but cozy scent that reminds you of a James Bond skiing lodge with a zest of orange/mandarin and fresh green herbs/trees. Honestly a banger and wayyy better on skin

    I remember when I started to dive into fragrances, a few years ago. I tested "Déclaration d'un soir" in some kind of Sephora. I knew it was a rose based fragrance and I found it way too rosey/feminine at the time... I thought they were going to hate it. 😄

      @@akoilngas1215 "Not sure at all how Beau de Jour smells feminine"
      Well... I didn't say that actually, you might want to re-read my comment.
      I said the rose note in 'Déclaration d'un soir' smelled pretty feminine to me at first, without having a "trained" nose so to speak... but I changed my mind afterwards and now I find it beautiful.
      Beau de Jour is a lavender based fragrance, pretty masculine yeah.
      "How many women do you know smell like a barbershop?"
      A good friend of mine actually owns & wears Terre d'Hermès... she also loves stealing Lalique Encre Noire from her boyfriend. I guess she'd be totally fine wearing any barbershop fragrance that would appeal to her.

    • @akoilngas1215
      @akoilngas1215 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@artiefakt4402 I wasn't responding to your comment regarding Declaration. I was responding to you liking BdJ (which I also enjoy the smell of) by bringing up the fact that I am confused with the panelist who states that BdJ smells feminine. Fougeres are pretty rare in women's perfumery (I can think of exactly one), and the one I am aware of is heavily compensated with by the use of other notes.
      As far as your friend. Great. Wear what you want to wear. The thrust of my comment was not to preclude the possibility of the use of masculine scents by women (which, in the case of BdJ, is not a traditionally male scent I would ever wear), but the fact that barbershop scents are not common on women. Out of all the women in your life, you've come up with exactly one who smells like Td'H and Lalique Encre Noire, but neither of those (very nice) fragrances are barbershop scents.

    • @artiefakt4402
      @artiefakt4402 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@akoilngas1215 My bad, I forgot the statement of the panelist about BdJ and I misunderstood your comment.
      I must say I'm not very familiar with women's perfumes and I don't think barbershop fragrances are widely popular among them. But I guess there are also some sorts of scents that are mostly targeted towards women (and avoided by men).
      I'm pretty sure I've already seen comments from women enjoying that genre for themselves... even though they usually had to use men's fragrances or unisex fragrances.... but yeah, I can't remember a woman I know wearing that kind of fragrance.

      They have two tester strips because one is more freshly applied and the other is the dry down. So when all these people say it's their least favorite, they're incorporating the dry down as well. Not to say it's not a good scent to you, but just clarifying what's happening in this video.
