Hi guys, just wanted to address something quickly. There's been a lot of discussion about our illustrations recently (on today's video in particular) so here's an explanation. We tried something different with a few drawings, going for a more detailed approach but it hasn't been received all that well. We've noticed your feedback and will be making changes over the next few weeks. Thanks to all those who have been constructive and hopefully we can simplify things up again.
We're working with different artists, each of whom has a slightly different style. Personally, I like the style that the artist in question uses, though we recognise that there has been some kick-back here, and we're open to making changes. Playing around with the formula is what led us to develop Whiteboard Football in the first place, so trying out changes is not something we'll ever shy away from. Community feedback is, of course, useful - but I feel like change is always a positive thing, regardless of the lessons learned. - Joe
I have to agree the artwork is looking kinda strange, distracts from the great content, been watching this channel for some time but definitely needs to be toned down
One interesting and remarkable fact you guys might have forgot to mention, is that: Neymar in 2011 won the Libertadores with Santos. A feat the team had only achieved before back when Pelé used to play for the Santos. Neymar was key to Santos victory in the tournament. A quite extraordinary feat!
Neymar carried Brazil at the 2014 World Cup, the chances are that Germany would have won anyway, but the effect his absence had on the team was frightening.
What a load of rubbish. Probably the most famous excuse for Germany pounding Brazil is that Neymar was not playing. It would have made no difference at all. Neymar is purely offensive player, how the hell would he prevent Germany from scoring 7 goals on the other side of the pitch. Maybe Neymar could have dropped in one goal, although I doubt it, so result would be 7-2 instead of 7-1.
@@jonb3150 not quite if Neymar was on the pitch he would have kept the defenders and the midfielders of Germany busy with his dribbling skills and that would have had a knock on effect on the entire team since they won't be able to push so much forward knowing any mispass could lead to a counter attack by Brazil and Neymar would be there to hurt them so no that is not an excuse Neymar presence would have made a diff,Germany still might have won but definitely not 7-1 I watched the match the players after 2 goals went in
Inevitably some people try to deny the blatantly obvious, end of the day it's a fact that even beyond tactics or skill, Brazil's mood changed the second Neymar went down. 🤷♂️
@The fastest milkman in the West lots of us brazilians are, my friend. He has the ability, but personality-wise he sucks. Awful guy to be picked as an idol. He's disrespectful to the game, in my humble opinion.
João Pedro Peixoto not even British but that’s just false. George best, Steven Gerard, Frank Lampard, Wayne Rooney, Michael owen. They may not have the god given ability that neymar has but they’re outstanding footballers
Neymar was one of world football's "invaluable" superstars; that is, one amongst a select few whose sheer talent and value to their team essentially removed them from the transfer market. The others I'm thinking of include Messi, Cristiano and possibly Buffon and Neuer. Therefore, given that Neymar is, I would argue, the world's best player behind Messi and Ronaldo, and given that Barça would never wish to sell him under normal circumstances, it was always going to take an astronomical sum from any club to prise him away.
Its gonna be hard though. 400 million would mean a lot of shirts. By how much a jersey cost, they'd have to sell his specific jersey over 4 times the amount Man Utd sold in their record year alone.
Mark Reilly football clubs barely get anything from shirt sales, that's why the companies pay them per season to wear them, that's most of what they earn from them, it's a myth that it works like that, it was just some real propaganda to make the at the time ludicrous purchase of Beckham seem a sensible move.
Bayern were intersted on Neymar ln 2010 an 2013/2014 too, and almost signed him. Bayern didn't get him in 2010 cuz they thought 24m was too much for a 17 year old, and in 2013/2014 they choose Gotze insead...
if Neymar and Thiago Silva were present at 2014 world cup semis they would at least have a reasonable defeat with Germany may be something like 4-2 or 5-3 or a good chance of win
Neymar 2013-14 Barca season: 15 goals and 15 asissts in 41 games. Messi 2013-14 Barca season: 20 plus goals Alexis sanchez 2013-14 Barca season: 20 plus goals Pedro 2013-14 Barca season: 19 goals. I think people forget how good neymar was in his first season in Barca. I mean, he played as a winger and scored 15 goals AND had 15 assists! Luis figo had 14 goals in his best season! But the difference was that neymar played his first season in europe and was only 21 years old, but still he contributed to 30 goals in 41 games! In his first season! With three other players scoring around 20 goals that season. And not only that, he played in la liga which was and still is one of the best and toughest league play in, in the whole world. You want proof? Well, Barca won the champions league in 2009 and 2011 and real madrid won the champions league in neymars first season at Barca. Plus, Barca was in the semifinal of the champions league in 2010 and 2012. Real Madrid also managed to get to the semifinal of the champions league in 2013. So clearly , la liga was one of the best leagues in the world when neymar came. Considering that 2 of the 5 champions league winners , during the period from 2009 till 2013, was spanish. And two different spanish teams , real madrid and Barca came to the semifinals , respectively in 2013 for Real and 2010 and 2012 for Barca. This just goes to show how incredible neymar is , when you really dig down.😀⚽️🇧🇷😊
Just to show you Neymar's impact on Santos history 3x (consecutive - 2010,2011,2012) São Paulo State Champion (first in club history since the 1960's) 1x Libertadores da América Champion (2011, first since the 1960's too) 1x Copa do Brasil Champion (2010, first in club history)
And a few years later Neymar is completely out of the spotlight thanks to his ''search for new challenge'' at PSG. Yeah, he makes shit ton of money, but he won't go down in history the way he could have if he had stayed at Barca (or moved to another similar club). And I don't think PSG did great either.. they still are nowhere near being a serious contender for Champions League title, and they would easily take the national league without giving hundreds of millions for Neymar.
Can’t respect the decision to try new artwork enough. If anything, shows you’re willing to listen to feedback. I quite liked the attempt and change from normal pace so thank you for taking the chance
Just imagine if he had come to chelsea! I had heard chelsea had interest and i was curious for my team to sign him, but when barcelona announced him i was like, meh, it would be just another youngster trying to fit on england. If only i knew.
You don't even comment about him winning the Libertadores Cup, south America's equivalent to the champions league, witch is indeed way harder than to win the UEFA CL
Neymar was never seen as "the chosen one" in brazilian football. That would be his team mate Paulo Henrique Ganso, the genius midfielder that everyone expected to become one of the best players in the world since he was very young, with Neymar being a glorified sidekick. That perception started to change only around 2010 after santos won the copa libertadores.
PSG signed him for the wrong reasons. To sell shirts. They all ready have 3 world class forwards in Di Maria, Draxler and Cavani so goals are not going to be a problem for them. Would the money not have been better spend on a couple of defenders? They should have singed Bouncci instead.
yeah its all for the commercial only... and by bringing in Neymar, they would invite lots of attention from the world too, which means more money coming.
You're wrong. Last year the only threat was Cavani, he almost single handedly carried PSG during the whole seasons. Draxler was decent for sure but Lucas is no that good and score only against weak teams, Di Maria is good 1 game but then is awfull for the next 10. PSG needed another massive threat and Neymar is totaly that threat. What they now really need is a new n°6.
Gorilla Grodd mixed with Neymar DNA lmao look his face. Neymar playing at PSG is nonsense to me. Go to the premier league, go to Serie A. He is not playing top level. Bit due to his appeal off course he is worth the money, I suppose.
Fantastic video and I agree with Neymar is looked at as the man to save Brazil. But even though he says it's not about money and a new challenge I think he did it because he will no longer be in Messi's shadows. And I agree with the other comments about the art work. Still a fantastic video great job
You forgot to mention that neymar was "known"in the football cycles since age 13(did trials to madrid etc) and he had a contract with santos like 100k when he was 14 or something. So he wasnt just a 17 ys old making a debut to the first time.
You're so right when you say he is Anakin Skywalker of Brazilian football. 2018 World Cup is showing it more than ever. The force has always been strong with this one, but he slips to the dark side way too easily. I'm a Brazilian fan and he is the probably the most controversial and unlikeble Brazilian star I've ever seen.
Neymar has always been a controversial figure in Brazil. This episode with Dorival Junior in his early career and a not mentioned pitch interview in this same year (2010) with Rene Simões in which he said that the press was building a monster prove this. I can remember that this match Santos 4 x 5 Flamengo was played right after the end of Copa America in which Brazil as kicked of in the quarter finals. As Neymar was in this team and Ronaldinho was not, many believed that the final result was a lesson of humblessness that Neymar had to pick after Copa America. He is far from being this last hope o redemption that this video portraits. I'd say that part of the brazilian press believed he was doomed to be named the top footballer of the year and win a FIFA World Cup as Ronaldo Nazario once did. However, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi restricted the top footballer prize to themselves and Neymar turned not to be the decisive player that Ronaldo was for Brazil in 2002. It seems that Neymar will turn out to be a new version of Robinho, a player that once was compared to Pele because of his youth and early career in Santos but with a total different career in the national team.
