The crazy thing about Neymar he is never out of form. Many players lose their career after suffering many injuries like Bale, Hazard, etc. But whenever he is injured and makes a comeback, he will be at top form from the first game itself.
Hahaha did you really say this ? Have you ever watched a PSG game at the beginning of EACH season ?! Neymar came back overweight basically every year after the summer. Even after the first leg against Bayern Munich this year he went straight to McDonalds and then a poker tournament. So unlucky he got injured some days after (while being in the best condition of his life i'm sure)...
@@Stars2p this year he was the best player in Ligue 1 in the first half of the season with tons of stellar performances in a poorly built team. His connection with Mbappe is just incredible. @@Grim_enigma It’s true what you said but I’m not sure what your point is. I was referring to the state of the current Brazilian squad, neymar barely has anyone near his standards to help him fight for national glory.
I am from Germany and this reminds me of Marco Reus who had a lot of injuries as well, missed out the World Cup 2014 and could never reach his full potential. Neymar ( hopefully) has a couple of years ahead of him as a professional footballer and i hope he will not get injured that many times in his future though i dont know if that is realistic. If he stays disciplined and maybe adapts his playstyle he can become much more efficient and valuable for his team imo. Anyways, great video again Tifo! ❤ Edit : Marco Reus is still active as a professional footballer as well and i hope he will stay fit and healthy, too. Both such fantastic players and somewhat tragic figures in their own way. I wish them and you guys all the best!❤
Refs need to protect these players more. They often focus on keeping the game fair, but the truth us winger, especially those who are highly skilled dribblers never get a fair shake. The rules should not just be applied individually, the rules should also be applicable to the team. For example, if a team has fouled the same player 6 times their should be a yellow awarded to the last player who found him no matter how severe. If they do it again, then another 3 total yellow cards can be awarded, and then an automatic red is awarded to whomever fouls that player. 6 is a bit much, but I think this illustrates how the rules should be better used to protect players and penalize teams for targeting skilled players via malicious tackling.
Extremely unlucky to be injured so often and at such key moments but I can't help but feel that if his style of play makes him particularly prone to injury then he should have received coaching/conditioning to mitigate this, whether that's PSG or the player refusing, who knows? I'm no coach but I do know that in the modern game you can be a technical player and not be injured so often by making small changes to your game and lifestyle. I hope that he gets some type of opportunity towards the end of his career to show the world how talented he really is.
@@Edu5ccomedy I don't think that is possible, he hasn't got the same build as a target man to do that. I think he would be more suited to a 10 or false 9 where he is in a more dangerous position of the pitch and won't get so much attention compared to playing out on the wing, where he is more prone to being heavily tackled and doubled up on.
He did, he used to jump before the impact and fall to mitigate the damage. But then people began accusing him of simulation. On the other hand, I'll not accept this idea of blaming his play style and not the violence of other players. If we're talking about what I would prefer this game would look like, I prefeer a thousand times more Neymar's than a bunch of brute robots, uncreative, morons modern football seems to value these days.
Getting injuries is not unlucky, but the outcome of having a style of play like that. His style of play attracts defenders to tackle him so hard, it may cause injuries more often than other players.
Generational talent alongside Ronaldo and Messi who didn’t get to win Ballon d'Or or lift World Cup trophy. Still a big name and will always be a legend for entertaining us so many years.
Doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as Ronaldo and Messi. He's below Bale, Suarez, Modric, and a fair few other players. Most overrated player of his generation by an absolute mile.
Neymar’s biggest mistake was going to PSG, not leaving Barca, if we went somewhere else like a prem team or Bayern his career would’ve been way better than it seems now. He’s wasted years upon years now at psg
I believe Neymar could have avoided some of these injuries if he had dedicated an offseason to bulking up his physique. His play style is very similar to Ronaldo during his early years at Man United. Ronaldo was quick and flashy but relatively ineffective until he hit the weights. Neymar could probably bounce off some of these challenges and gain extra explosiveness through work in the gym
Nah that would take away more of his speed which he already lost some due to his injuries. So he did bulk up a bit but not too much to not hinder his speed even more. He needs it due to his playstyle and he’s wrongfully tackled at times when he doesn’t even have the ball anymore. Like defenders hate others talents on display. Also saying he’s ineffective is cap, he’s super effective he can give you an assist or goal per game look at Neymar’s stats. Dude is insane to be playing at a high level after getting this many injuries. Ronaldo was never as injury prone as neymar.
The bulk would take away his speed and dexterity Neymar is not like Ronaldinho who was very physically strong and robust, if neymay gains weight, he would be less effective
I maintain all of Neymar's injuries are due to him playing against low quality defenders. He is always getting by random Ligue 1 players. Bizarrely if he played in a more competitive league with better defenders he'd probably be injured less. Sorta how in Rugby the 'safest' are one in the World Cup vs two good teams
He got injured two world cups. Yes the French league is more aggressive but refs need to have a brain and recognise when a player is being targeted for tackles to book the opposition more harshly.
I always thought that his character problems where really heightened by his devastating injury in the 2014 World Cup. I feel like that was the moment his trajectory took a turn for the worse. I think with him failing in the Brazilian national team the pressure of having to outlive the likes of Pelé and Ronaldo on a national level and Messi at Barca became too much all whilst maybe losing some trust in his body. That’s why he went to PSG: To atleast escape the Messi pressure. I’d argue without that injury and the following 7-1 defeat Neymar would have stayed for Barca atleast until his contract was up and would not have taken the first possible exit.
He's been unlucky with injuries but he still won the Champions League and a bunch of other titles while being one of the wealthiest footballers. Many would take that kind of bad luck.
They telephoned each other afterwards. I think Neymar himself didn't take the case too far (as to directly accuse a fellow player)... I resist thinking Neymar is all that evil as (mainly Brazilian and English) media portray him.
The fault is on referees for being so lenient with players who tackle Neymar specifically. When they are not punished for such dangerous tackles, they will just keep pushing until there is an injury.
When your a known diver your gonna get fouled more and the refs are gonna let more go because the immediate thought is a dive especially when you do a 5 rotation roly-poly everytime.
You can only call him unlucky if he did all he could to achieve in the sport. His lifestyle and play style means he doesn't properly look after his body and moving to PSG wasted his best years. He may have been unlucky but it's equalled by obvious consequences of his choices
Nah the injuries have all been contact injuries, look at the replays the defenders enter all brute with no skill. The last two ankle injuries he had which was the World Cup and the one he just got both were tackles that the defenders made after he released the ball.
I feel referees and the whole football system fails to protect the better players. It's unacceptable that Neymar spends months recovering and the aggressor misses a few games in the best case scenario. There should be some kind of equivalence between recovery period and ban period for the aggressor. Some of the worst players would spend many games under ban...
It seems today's football is not suited anymore for talented players like him. Football is becoming less brazillian and more english with less skilful players and more physical games without spaces. Also, the criteria referees take are harmful to the good old football. Defenders know they can get out and the blame goes to the player that wants to play, not on the unfair tackle the strikes receives. It is sad this is happening, Europe is dominating and adapting rules to fit their needs, harming other football cultures.
What a stupid opinion. The physicality of the game has decreased as seen by how referees routinely award penalties and free kicks for the most minor bits of contact (incentivising players like Neymar to dive routinely). Compare this to the game earlier in the 1900s where defenders could literally just kick you and you'll see that the rules of the game are being shifted to protect attacking players more and more (probably a good thing tbh). The real reason these kinds of dribblers are a dying breed is mostly due to managers realising that teams working with highly coached systems are more effective and accordingly encouraging their teams to play in a specific, practiced way as opposed to simply having some guy run with the ball for a bit before getting tackled 90% of the time. It's also weirdly reductive to equate talent and skill simply with a player's ability to dribble. Football is about so much more than that and it's incredibly silly to equate the two
@@epicmarschmallow5049 If you omitted your first phrase of your comment, you would get a better will from me in discussing this subject. But as it seems you don't have much respect, I won't waste my time.
Neymar knows football is not life or death. He has been very unlucky considering he's a Brazilian. Anyone who plays alongside Suarez and Messi must have some fortune in their career though.
I remember my childhood football, amateur level. When I have a teammate who play in middle of the pitch that often get hard and stupid tackle, and he often leave pitch with injury or brush, our manager move him to wide pitch. In middle you will get 2 to 3 to 4 to 5 players that likely to tackle you in a game but in wide area only 1 or 2. PSG team coach should do that I think, but I'm sorry my mistake, Neymar is his own manager, he will play where he want and he want to play in area that give him big chance to get another same injury. Kudos to Neymar with his decision and his consistency.
When I think of an unlucky Footballer, I think about someone like Stuart Giddings. Represented various England youth teams, was starting to establish himself in Coventry's first team at the age of 18 and then suffered an injury which he never really recovered from. Yes, Neymar has experienced various misfortunes, but has also been fortunate to have a career that would still be the envy of almost any footballer.
The man has still had a very good career. Compare him to Fabrice Muamba, Ray Jones, or any number of players who would have been professionals if not for injuries. The National League alone is littered with talented players with knees of glass. Even relatively minor examples like Wilshere, Owen, Clyne, or Diaby who still had solid careers have been much more unlucky than Neymar.
Another excellent video - I've always maintained that Neymar was for a long time, the 3rd best player in the world. I rate him highly when others have dismissed him as just a diver. I didn't know the extent of his injuries however, or the way he got them, but it's clear he's always being targeted and the players who injure him know they can get away with it because the referees just think he's playacting. Neymar is definitely a player who doesn't get the respect he deserves.
Pogba also deserves a shout for being unlucky. ReJoining the team you started your career at only for it to be during their worst period in history, plus all the injuries, must be hard to take for him
When I knew he was the most cursed football ever was his freak injury In 2018 In the prime of his career missing 4 months just before a WC he would have won if fit

I find it surprising the writers didn’t address the elements of training that are designed to protect from recurring ankle injuries. yes freak accidents happen. But there’s no such thing as habitual freak accidents especially to the same region of the body. We’ve seen it cross sport I just don’t know enough about his private strength training to comment on if he’s pursuing the plan that modern literature has proven to significantly improve and protect a player with vulnerable ankle injury, especially lower, from repeated damage.
He didn’t want to face the scrutiny of his unpaid taxes in Spain so decided to leave. And PSG are a top side..although they are full of mercenaries and play in a poor league.
He's extremely unlucky, but some of it is his own doing. He should've never gone to PSG, flat out. Even his teammates tried to warn him that his career would stagnate and that's exactly what happened.
Constant targeting and fouling are the reason that "entertainers" like Ronaldinho and Neymar have gone extinct. It's part of the reason why the Premier League has less than half the number of take-ons per game than it did 7 years ago. It's anti-football, it's dangerous, it slows the game down, it cuts out the magic and I pray that they are ridded from our game somehow
Said the same back in the 90s especially after the Van Basten injury they changed the rules internationally to prevent heavy tackles especially behind by punishing the offender more harshly. But unfortunately this still doesn't prevent targeted efforts to injure a player. I think it's more down to flair being coaches out of players in an academy level rather than heavy tackles, is the reason why we aren't seeing "entertaining" type players anymore especially at a world class level.
With all these problems he should have switched up his style like Ronaldo and so could have even ended up somewhat better than now. Would be difficult but for a player of his quality definitely possible
The reality is that some players never accepted the fact that in football you can be dribbled in a very shameful way a that's part of the part of The Beautiful Game, in Brazil we are used to it since we were kids playing futsal. I mean, it's ok to be mad and try to stop the guy no matter what, but if he is unstoppable you must respect him - inside, if really like the game, you should admire him. But of course, even here we have some with disrespect and the response to a good ability is try to beat or even broke, in a unsportsmanlike way, the guy, like Camilo Zúñiga did in 2014. That was a crime, but in La Liga, Ligue One we also saw a lot of this kind of fouls.
What's point of playing these talented players if they are fragile as china doll ? Injured players though good are a big big no. Same case with Dembele of Barcelona
Not to mention the amount of rolling around on the ground that he did in front of the world's tv cameras in World Cup 2018. It made him look less credible and became the subject of many jokes and memes. Edit: Type in "neymar world cup 2018 rolling" into TH-cam and see the results. The one against Mexico is notable.
Neymar is ARGUABLY the most talented and layer of his generation. Really it’s like everything you would dream of from a player. From his play style, his flair, his playmaking, his dribbling etc. it’s very unfortunate injuries held him back because he truly could’ve achieved more in his career.
Messi is the most talented. His finishing, long shooting, Free Kicks, playmaking (as a whole) and on-ball change of pace were far better than neymar's. Neymar had more flair and better on-ball creativity but that alone doesn't make you the most talented.
Neymar play style is quite beautiful to see, I know that he still wins tons of millions and party a lot (so I will not get sad for him because I do not think he is unhappy) but it is true that he was unlucky and we can just imagine how much he could have accomplish if he would not have so many injuries.
The real reason he ssufers so much are how disloyal players are in Ligue 1, and the referee's don't help as well, alowwing this type of thing to happen all the time. You don't see Messi or Mbappe been treated like this.
He could've won Ballon d'Or if he stayed at Barcelona. He was just unlucky in World Cup, which could've been different if Brazil were managed by Guardiola
No he couldn't, messi still was in front of him on the fifa ranking in 2020 ( ballon do'r was cancelled), despite him reaching ucl final and messi being on his worst season ever.
@@adelinogoncalves1180 I mean, not only did Neymar not win League 1 that season(PSG came Second), he lost the UCL final to Bayern. So yeah, Neymar did not win any significant trophy during the voting period for Fifa the best. His stats was also less than Messi. So yeah, no wonder why Messi was above him in the rankings
He had tremendous potential that could never be realized because he's built like a 110lb child. His constant injury history confirms that. Problem is, if he bulks up to try and counteract that, he likely loses that agility and touch that makes him so special. A cruel catch-22.
People saying that he shouldnt be hated on diving should know that ,that is literally the defenders job ,with millions spent on each football player ,countless fans ,watchibg ,football has to be rough ,you cant expect defenders to let you go easily . Bodying and tackling is part of the game ,if you cant handle it ,retire ,it is as simple as that .
His pricetag has ruined his perception because no one speaks of the fact that as much as Neymar has been injured at key moments, without him his teams have never helped him or themselves. Fresh off a World Cup win, Ole Gunnar Solskajer's Manchester United should've been easy work for Mbappe and PSG. Especially since the round before they picked Klopp's Liverpool apart with Neymar. But a limp performance from key players saw them eliminated prematurely. In fact the only year PSG progressed in the Champions League was the year Neymar was available for the latter stages. The same can be said of Brazil. Fans criticise Neymar and claim he's overrated, overhyped etc etc yet they fail to acknowledge that without him their teams are completely toothless.
The problem with PSG is not Neymar or Mbappe. The defence in Europe is shambolic at key moments. They are like Spurs of Europe. The case of Brazil is weird. They won copa America without him but look pretty bad without him. Brazil National team are underperforming as far as there performance go. They were one of the favourites to win the world cup but, i guess the brazillian pressure can get too much.

He scored what should have been the winner in the WC QF if Brazil's defense didn't give up last minute (he even took the first pen and scored so that one is not on him)
And since he's out PSG have been awful with Messi proving incapable to have the same connection with Mbappe.
So no, every time he's fit and he plays he's the best player on the field that's how good he is, watching him play is simply a joy.
He's mentally super strong (he did the remontada almost by himself, one of the greatest football processes ever), technically amazing, fast...
Neymar legit would've won a Ballon'dor if he was fit most of the time. It is CRAZY how unfortunate he's been. As a Barca fan I'll always say "he shouldn't have lfet Barca" but I must acknowledge that he indeed is a great footballer.

Edit : Marco Reus is still active as a professional footballer as well and i hope he will stay fit and healthy, too. Both such fantastic players and somewhat tragic figures in their own way. I wish them and you guys all the best!❤
Tifo never disappoints
Unfortunately, it does a terrible job of covering women's football so it does disappoint in that regard.

Tbf he doesn't hold on to the ball as long as he uses to but still gets rough treatment. Refs in France don't care about his safety.
Luck or karma...
@@Edu5ccomedy Change his style to what?
Injuries took away Neymar s explosiveness
He is really unlucky. I started noticing it in 2014 world cup during that colombia match
Getting injuries is not unlucky, but the outcome of having a style of play like that. His style of play attracts defenders to tackle him so hard, it may cause injuries more often than other players.
Jack Wilshire had similar problems with injuries. Only difference is his career ended much earlier
the smoking and drinking added to his downfall
Generational talent alongside Ronaldo and Messi who didn’t get to win Ballon d'Or or lift World Cup trophy. Still a big name and will always be a legend for entertaining us so many years.
He will be remembered as the best diver that have ever existed. He has been carrying this tradition from Rivaldo 😂

Yeah, let's send such injury prone player to the most physical league
The bulk would take away his speed and dexterity
Neymar is not like Ronaldinho who was very physically strong and robust, if neymay gains weight, he would be less effective
Legend in my eyes. Really helped me enjoy the sport in the early days.
Still don't understand how Zuniga wasn't banned from football after that
They telephoned each other afterwards.
The only player to finish in the top 3 of ballon dor voting while not playing in Europe. Class
Top 10*
Still my favorite football player of all time, always a joy to watch
When your a known diver your gonna get fouled more and the refs are gonna let more go because the immediate thought is a dive especially when you do a 5 rotation roly-poly everytime.
It's always the injuries. A few years down the road you will be doing something similar about Federico Chiesa.
and Ousmanne Dembele
He didn't work out enough to prevent these injuries plus his nutrition
I feel bad for Neymar man injuries are the worst thing to happen to a football player I hope he can recover soon
Shut up man
zuniga in 2014 was a really neyymar privilege that messi will never have.
Nope equal ban until he recovers
Now after his ACL & miniscus injury it looks like his career finshed
I do feel sorry for him because he is being targeted by the opposition because he is so gifted with the ball
Given that he probably earns around 3million pounds a month with his wages and sponsorship deals, I wouldn’t call him particularly unlucky
Idea for next video😂:"Who could replace Graham Potter at Stafford Bridge"
I remember my childhood football, amateur level. When I have a teammate who play in middle of the pitch that often get hard and stupid tackle, and he often leave pitch with injury or brush, our manager move him to wide pitch.
In middle you will get 2 to 3 to 4 to 5 players that likely to tackle you in a game but in wide area only 1 or 2. PSG team coach should do that I think, but I'm sorry my mistake, Neymar is his own manager, he will play where he want and he want to play in area that give him big chance to get another same injury. Kudos to Neymar with his decision and his consistency.
I would love to have been unlucky in my career like Neymar 😂
Michael ballack is the definition of unlucky players. Never won the CL, lost WC final, Euro Final and CL final
Great video. Hopefully he can still pull off a Modric or Benzema and become better with age :)
The decision to leave Barcelona for PSG was the beginning of his downfall. Neymar's decision making should be an example for the upcoming footballers.

"neymar stays in barcelona" for me is one of the biggest 'what if' in modern football history.

Neymar left for PSG at his prime. Absolute madness
Neymar gets hate for no reason. He's injured all the time and still manages to be the best player for PSG
With all these problems he should have switched up his style like Ronaldo and so could have even ended up somewhat better than now. Would be difficult but for a player of his quality definitely possible
He is so talented and so unlucky. He needs new witch doctors.
I think Neymar could have been better than Messi and Ronaldo had he not been this unlucky. Sad to see really
I think his on-field attitude somewhat contributes to his injuries.
Being healthy and available is part of being an all time great.. If we took injuries into account Marco van Basten would be the greatest of all time.
He could've won Ballon d'Or if he stayed at Barcelona. He was just unlucky in World Cup, which could've been different if Brazil were managed by Guardiola

Brazil would have always lost against Germany in the world cup. They've been laughably overhyped for over 20 years at this point
He had tremendous potential that could never be realized because he's built like a 110lb child. His constant injury history confirms that. Problem is, if he bulks up to try and counteract that, he likely loses that agility and touch that makes him so special. A cruel catch-22.

Unlucky?! With that salary and the way he takes vacations around january to april 😂 I think he is the luckiest one
