Definitely back in the game last few years and with new team and Carole Forestier-Kasapi, Movements Director at TAG Heuer things will only get better
They almost came back in the game a few years ago with the Aquaracer 200 (40mm) but for the asking price that thing really should've been a Chronometer or at least have a better movement.
I saw it in person in Spain and it has been on my wishlist since then.
With just one model, TAG overtook a lot of Breitling chronos. 39mm is such a good compromise between vintage and modern.
Its such a good looking piece. Glassbox design is so appealing. 12 oclock date window is nice and slick.
I own this watch along with a couple of limited edition Carrera in 39mm, I must say that this piece is crazy accurate I get one second over a day even with the chronograph running or not, it's quiet super quiet where as the H02 the rotor noise is my gripe. Great design all over and so comfy to wear.
Is this watch a limited production model, or was the special edition silver panda the only price limited in production?

Yup - 100%. Never ever liked the generic Tag’s out there… but this, wow, this might change my mind about Tag…. Excellent proportions, beautiful glass box design, excellent movement and water resistance - this is a home run for sure!! Would like to see more strap optima though, but wow - this is seriously unreal piece!!
What gives TAG Heuer the Right to charge $6.500 for a Watch?

I got this watch last month. It is great so far. Mine is running +1 second per day. The strap is nice and light but i wish they offered a bracelet option since i sweat a lot. The 12 o clock date is a good quirk for me. There when you need it and hidden if you dont. The glassbox type crystal is good looking and distinctive❤
I know someone who got the Skipper with the bracelet from the 39mm three hand Carrera. So that’s an option

@@alectang1614 i got this from a tag boutique in singapore while on vacation. I asked if i could purchase an extra bracelet for it but the staff said none was available. I guess they just didn't have a specific one for it, but she did not offer me any alternatives that could fit in the meantime. I ended up getting a generic mesh strap online haha.

Crazy that they placed the date window where the chrono seconds hand will almost always be blocking it

Is it safe to let the chrono hand run continuously all day? How would it effect the power reserve? Would doing so risk wearing down the gears or increasing the chance of damage from being banged around?

It's a vertical clutch so it should be fine
Never had a problem with mine when I forgot it on overnight. Carrera production year 2015 but this won’t be any different. It’s not a Chinese made chronograph, people tag on Tag for nothing

Great effort from TAG Heuer but I can't help but feel the movememt finishing has taken a step back - The Heuer 02 had decent finishing and half skeletonised bridges so we could see the silvered and grained wheels. Shame they covered it all up. And that rotor certainly doesnt look as good as the old ones either.

Lovely, although the proportions seem off. Also, 21 mm lug width on a 39 mm?! SMH. And I could do without the faux lumed hands, as well.

What's the point of putting a glove only on one hand? Your other hand still leaves fingerprints, so there is no point.

I own this watch from upon release and it's not COSC anything but it's extremely accurate indeed,
I don't think it is. It needs to be for a watch this expensive.
Th20-00 I don't think is cosc, but the th20-09 is (Monza flyback and tourbillion) tag have also extended the warranty to 5 years on TH20 models.
The TH20 is extremely accurate, my guess is that it was a cost cutting exercise to not have them cosc certified.
COSC are an old boys club, hard to always get passed through them.
Was just about to skip this video, thinking it’s a chronograph without a date, not interested and then….. there it is at 12 o’ clock, I’ll stay.

Love the date window at 12 o’clock, very functional yet unnoticeable. Too bad it uses plexiglass, a bit underwhelming esp at this price point.
It's a sapphire crystal. Looks like plexi.

Tag chronographs loose 35-40% of its value. How will this model do when the hype is over
then they will be a great value chrono to get from the secondary market. I want one so hoping they lose a bit of value and i can grab a bargain from someone looking to flip.
