    Hmm I dunno, I really like the team sit-downs and don't think it was a case of too much exposition (though I agree the first few missions of the game were) I think them repeating themselves was more of a reflection of their own troubles and worry rather than holding the player's hand imo.
    I think I can explain the convo with Bellara feeling guilty about the Evanuris because it struck me as a very realistic worry! When you're a minority like the Elves are (targeted and often blamed, like Solas feared the Elven prosecution in DAI when we found out about the anchor and Elven magic etc...) then you feel irrational guilt and worry if someone of your race does something "bad" you see it as people equating you to that bad person (I've blamed myself irl for things people from my country or ethnic group did when it's not my fault at all ofc...) it's a very common sentiment albeit not a healthy one or logical at all but plenty of people feel it.

    (Team meeting 6m mark or so at least) Old school Bioware and Larian Studios gave players agency to sort through the game story without putting everything on rails. For example my last BG3 play through (evil ending) I did not just wipe out Baldur's Gate, I wiped out the entire Sword Coast... it was my choices and MY story. Most modern AAA studios don't allow for player agency; they either can not be bothered to account for choices and how much extra work it does take for that OR are telling their story and the player is just along for the ride. This is what frustrates me so much with many modern games.

      If you remember the main criticism about Inquisition, it was that the game was too large, too unfocused. The Hinterlands is all I need to say. This is the result of what those complainers wanted.
