Thank you very much! Vancouver Island is a beautiful place. I went whale watching out of Victoria some years ago. Can’t wait to return to the city and Island. It’s been 8 years since I was last in Canada
We drove the road to the Isles 4 weeks ago tomorrow...soo much easier to drive to Mallaig (Glenfinnan aside) than it was years ago before the road was upgraded. First time I went in 1989 it was single track most of the way after Lochailort. Thanks for a great video!
I first travelled that road in 1967 when it was mostly tortuous single track. Easy drive now but much less scenic - it used to feel remote West Highland but not now. The road signs are Cumbernauld-like ridiculously huge signs directing to small settlements or crofts.
I would have been amazing to travel the road back then. Like you say it’s not as scenic as years gone by, and over tourism has taken its toll in places. Still a lovely drive none the less :)
Glennfinnan. Utter chaos 4 times a day just to see a stream train take 1 mins to cross a viaduct. And it’s not even the Harry Potter steam engine . The red engine is part of the Harry Potter experience . Arisaig. Go to Mallaig , and if the stream train is in all the cafes are full. So double back and go for a more relaxing time at Arisaig.
Again thank you, another road that I love especially in autumn when the colours are fabulous.
Just found your channel, love the video, looks like I have about 40 to catch up, thanks from Vancouver Island Canada

Thanks mate. It’s a brilliant drive. The road is fantastic compared to what it used to be.
I'll be visiting in late May for the first time ( and driving) and so appreciate these videos!
Hope you enjoy your trip, it's a beautiful road.
