Even though I agree with you that changing the life insurance beneficiary to the person who took her home on the day of the murder is extremely more suspicious than saving a dollar on cigarettes, due to the arrogance of the head detective in charge of the case, Ryan McCarrick and others involved in law enforcement, they never even considered that due to incompetence or depraved indifference to justice.

That's the reverse sexism thing at work as well. If you look even at contemporary newspaper accounts, when there is a criminal gang, the female members are often described as having cooperated under pressure, or having been coerced. Based on nothing but assumptions.
With violent crime, men are even more likely to be considered the perpetrators and the 'brains' behind the act. Sociopathic women often use men to do their dirty work and they're often not caught. I went to her wake and her funeral.
Me and my mom hugged Russ, and at the time everyone thought that he did it, and you could tell the emotion that was running through that man but he was trying to keep it together.

A year later I broke down in the shower and let it all out. I think it took a year for myself to fully realize he wasn't coming back, he wouldn't be there for important life events, etc. I think I get more emotional about it the more life goes on cause I'm being reminded of everything he's not, or will ever be, here for. Despite popular belief, there isn't a one-size-fits-all on how to mourn a loss, everyone does respond differently.
