- Controller blinks white then stops. Really need help, anything that worked would be great. I'm sure you understand my frustration.
**UPDATE**
My playstation works now, I just needed to switch the cable that I used to connect my controller to my PS4. Also, this solution may not work for everyone, because they may have different issues.

SOLVED! I tried everything I found online to try to fix the damned problem.. here’s what finally worked to get rid of what was by then a solid white light and unresponsive ps4/unpaired controller- used a micro usb cord that I KNOW works, unplugged power cable from wall to PS4, left it unplugged for about 15 sec. plugged back in, hit PS button on controller, the PS4 turned on as went into the whole “ps4 was turned off incorrectly blah blah blah” then after it recovered itself and reset itself, it turned back on. Then pushed PS button on controller to turn controller on. Finally the controller turned on and worked with the PS4! All was well on earth as it is in heaven.

Same exact thing just happened to me, as in minutes ago lol. I tried all 3 controllers obviously all did the same thing shut it off finally unplugged it completely like you said and it worked thank god my heart dropped for a minute..

Heya buddy, I dont know if you have fixed it or not, but I had the same issue. But I was stupid though, I decided to pair mine to my phone to play games, and i made it even worse. But, what i have done now and have noticed, is that once you have reset it (the controller, with the button at the back) then leave it to charge on the on screen. ALSO, the CABLE!!!! im using the one they gave me, but its not proving good. So I switched it out for my samsung S5 charger, and it works a charm. The controller will start pulsing an orange light if you have done it right, this signals that it is now charging. Let it be. Once its all good to go, then try following that screen prompt.

When it pulses yellow and slow, that means it's charging. So leave it to charge fully. (Maybe an hour) then resume as per my last message and you should be sweet. :)

Turn your ps4 off. Take something like a toothpick or a paperclip, stick it in the reset button for 15 seconds and then plug your controller into your ps4 and turn on your controller. I did that and it worked

@@imzankhan yea i used an alan wrench to open it(from the top or the ps4) u may just need to clean it. Turn ur ps4 on when ur opening it and make sure ur usb is connected to ur ps4 controller

omg 3 hours of trying to figure out wtf is wrong. I finally figured it out. Please let me know if this helps you but its THE CABLE!!! be sure you got a good working cable. I had a thin one and it wouldn't work. I couldn't believe it was the cable after all. Please let me know if reading this helped you too

I had the same issue. I tried most things people were saying in the thread but the thing that worked for me was trying different cables - managed to get it connected from one cable and was able to use others afterwards.

Tried 2 cables. One didn't even charge it, the other charged it, but only flashed white when turned on. Decided to try with my phone charger cable and it synced perfectly.
I got it!!!! Problème: I have 2 ps4 and wanted to disconnect it from one and connect it to another but when i reseted the controller it flashes once or twice then stopped and when I tried to charge it with the cable it also only flashes once then stopped. I truly tried everything even with the technic of unplugging it from the core but SOLUTION: I just tried changing the charger cable with another random Samsung cable I found at the house and it immediately worked. So just try different cables until one works.

Playstation really needs to address this problem. I've tried everything. it will connect but only after I unplug the system and plug it back in after every time I play. I've tried the reset button on the back , different micro USB cable, holding the share button etc
me too my controller (when i retart the ps4 entirley it works, but after an hour or so it disconnects and doesnt turn on again i reseted it, changed the USB and even called Sony. They Told me to do what i already did and said to call back if it happened again. this was 20 minutes ago

2 years later and the problem has not even been addressed. Sony could care less about their products after they've gotten their cash. I can't even believe it's possible for PlayStation to continue. It shows how most people are so stupid that Sony can get away with it cause we keep buying stuff. It's all our faults for not boycotting junk when it's found to be junk.

I tried several different cables and all had the charging light but I tried to connect over and over each one not working until one that I hadn’t tried yet did so u just have to try a bunch if different ones till u get one that works ig
What if I just bought a new controller with a new usb cable, since both of my controllers are having this problem and I don’t have a usb cable to charge them with I have a Bluetooth charger, so if i just bought a new controller with a new usb cable will it work?

I held down the power button on the ps4. It should beep but keep holding until you hear the second one. This will shut down the ps4. I restarted it and it worked perfectly again. I hope this helps

Controller has been doing this for 3 years and still can find a way to stop it
You have to keep the controller connected, turn off the ps4. Once it's completely shut down, hold down the power button on the ps4 to enter safe mode then follow prompts
Just plug it into the wall, if it dosent turn on instantly then wait 2 to 5 min

I had a slightly different issue. I have 2 PS4 controllers and neither would connect. They would both connect to my other PS4. I tried using the reset button on both controllers and it made no difference. I had to turn the PS4 on with the power button on the console. when i connected either PS4 controller to the console and held the PS button on the controller they would turn on solid white but nothing could be controlled. I tried hitting the power button on the console and it would go into rest mode. I tried this several times and varied the order in which i tried the controllers and nothing worked. I got frustrated and unplugged the power cable to the PS4 and plugged it back in. Turned on the PS4 with the power button on the console. It ran through it's diagnostics and then both controllers started working perfectly again. I've had issues with the PS4 controllers not connecting right before on both my PS4's but this was the first time that it was this bad. For me, It wasn't a cable issue and it wasn't a problem with the controllers themselves. It was the PS4 that was not allowing the controllers to pair in my case. Hopefully Sony addresses this type of issue in the future. Maybe I should turn off Rest Mode for now so that when I press the power button on the console it shuts off instead of going into Rest Mode.

I feel ya! I'm an old school gamer who just wanted to kill some time with a few emulators. First time I've attempted to get a 'controller' to work on a PC in about 20 years. It's A SHAME. I've tried two different controllers (Xbox one and this one). There is simply NO WAY for anyone but the most avid gamers with the most times on their hands... to even THINK about playing games on his PC. And I'm an A+/MCSE certified veteran!
1.connect your controller to the charger
2.hold ps power button until it turns off
3.finally hold the home button it should work

Hi everyone, I also have a problem. I bought a ps4 off eBay and so far it's got up to a screen were is just says: "welcome back to PlayStation...press the PS button to use the controller". So I buy a controller from CEX and I plug it in and press it... Nothing happens. It just blinks white for a bit then stops PLEASE HELP ME. Thankyou

Oscar Langham Get a tooth pick or a paper clip look for the little circle in the back. Stick the toothpick in the little circle. Turn on your ps4 then controller (make sure your controller is charging) Bam your done
my controller won't stop blinking it blinks continuosly till its batteries dies
1.connect your controler to the ps4 with the original cable.
2.turn on your ps4
3.put a tooth pick in the reset button on your controller for about 20-30 seconds
4.turn on your controller again and if it connects take out the cable and turn of your ps4 then turn it back on and boom btw this also works if you connected your controller to you phone and doesnt work.

I got mine working again by disconnecting the power to the ps4 for a minute and plugging it back in. it worked fine after that

I tried everything listed here and I finally got it to work by switching up the cables. Some cables work for some controllers and there seems to be no consistency to which cables are better. I ended up color coding my cables to the controllers so I know which ones work for which controllers. Bad products...

@@TheHumbleWaffle please do not initialize ur ps4. That doesnt work.... I did that and i had the same problem except now all my data gone~ but make sure u get a new usb. The $1 usb's can even work once u finished opening the top right of the ps4
the cable thing done it for me. had same issue, changed wire and now it works. heck knows what that was about. as it was still charging using the original wire
My controller blinks white daily and it only happens when I stream TV on Amazon and Disney Plus. The streaming will freeze and controller then blinks white and have to reset the whole thing .I have no idea what to do and have tried everything I can think of.
Use your Samsung Note or Galaxy cable, that always worked for me.

When you pair the controller to your phone or anything else the controller is paired if have to reset the controller then try again using cable to ps4
I ran into that and all I did was reset the controller than it worked and I was able to get back into my system but the controller still kept disconnecting and I'm currently only able to play with the usb in the controller any fixes please share it with me

Hey bud I was just going through the similar white light problem. Went through lots of videos and non worked.Frustrated I unpluged the main power without proper power off and then plugged it back again,it restarted . I tried connecting my ps4 controller and it did work.Weired ehh try that hopefully works.

For people who are having the same issue what I did to fix this was turn on my ps4 plug in the cable to not the ps4 and controller then turn the ps4 of with the power button then waited a few seconds after waiting I held the ps button on the controller for about 3-5 seconds then my PlayStation turned on and I could sign into my account using the controller

I changed the charge cord that came with my ps4 to a ragged cord i had forever,guess what the damn thing recognized the controller immediately.ive never yanked the cord outta the ps4 and ive never abused my ps4 system,i was on chat with psn for over 2 hours trying to get it to recognize the damn thing and Pablo the tech guy couldnt help me at all.YES that was his name.It was a frigging cord the whole time.i will tell you that about 2 weeks after i had bought my ps4 the thing wouldnt charge my controller anyway so i had been charging it through a phone cord i had.i know the last part of my paragraph doesnt help i was just doing a little fyi

I swear this works guys all u have to do is hold the power button on your ps4 until u hear the second beep then press the ps button on the controller to turn the controller on and it should work!
By the way I don't think that is the official cable you might need the official cable that comes with the ps4

You gotta use a Sony cord or a Samsung cord because most chargers are just for charging and not data transferring
I've always had issues with Sony costumer support.. They literally take their warranty to hearts.. And I've always had to pay for repairs.. I have had 2 xbox 360s and one xbox one brake on me and everytime xbox actually apologized to me.. Sent me new consoles and even credited me enough on my account to buy one digital game....i wish Sony support was that good. Did you ever find a fix?

I spend 2 days by 2-3 hours trying to fix exact the same problem,my original cable which came with console it’s working perfect it’s nothing wrong with it BUT did’t work anyway,then after watching all the videos from youtube i found a cable from my android old phone and i plug in to my controller and it worked back to normal so anyone who is in the same situation NO PANIC!

make sure you have a proper use cable a new 1 would be best sometimes they stretch and some of the wires get disconnected with showing any signs.
