I got a lightly modded 2002 wrx for $1700, had a rebuilt engine and transmission last year with 60k on it and .5 mil oversizes pistons, and a full Invidia catback and catted downpipe. Drives like a dream.
Got my 2015 STI. Has 150,000 miles on it. 45k on the new engine to an unknown oil leak. Currently has a Cobb 20g turbo, ETS TMIC, killer b header stock down pipe and Invidia q300 catback. Gots all the Cusco braces with FA coil swift springs, Volk wheels Recaro SR7 seats and it’s such a perfect balanced car. Owned it for seven years.

I just got my first brand new Subi, a 24 WRX base in blue. I love it so far! I’m a little older, 42, but I’m looking forward to paying respect to the WRXs that started it all with thoughtful modifications in the future. My previous experience with a Subaru was when I was in Okinawa, and I had a 2000 Legacy B4 RSK. It was interesting to see the cool stuff that we don’t get in America. I remember seeing Forester STIs and the original WRX STIs. Amazing. I’ve watched all your videos concerning the new WRX though. I really enjoy your content and the information you provide!
I've always wanted a STI and got my 21 sti with 6 miles on it. I've literally been researching for 4 years on builds before I bought it. I got it tuned last year at Dotson tuning in Fort Worth TX. I'm pushing 380whp 360wqt on 93 pump gas and 415whp on e85. Best decision I've made but now I'm ready for more hp. Everything under the hood is ready for 490whp, all I have to do is get a built engine to handle it. Love your vids and been following you since you had 20k subscribers.
Thanks for making another video like this. after watching the blue’s build, I know you’re an excellent resource for someone like me just getting into modding my ‘21
Great video! I've owned three Subarus now, a 2010 WRX, a 2019 Crosstrek, and my 2017 STI. Any problems I had were due to poor maintenance or me not following the warnings in this video. CVT owner here and if you are trying to make it a monster buy the MT! Only thing I did was an exhaust and intake on mine to be safe and it was mostly for the sound and it has run flawlessly so far with 95k miles
Everything you stated was accurate, Most people and I see it all the time want to just bolt on parts and go fast at the cheapest possible price, Then the engine lets loose and the car automatically becomes junk, Another big issue today and this goes across the board for all makes is these obscene extended oil drain intervals, Change your oil every 2,500-3,000 even when using full synthetic, Only thing extended drain intervals do is cause people to be lazy and not service their car and in the process run the engine low on oil causing major problems, Another big issue today and this is basically my opinion is these 0 weight oils are a joke, The only reason they exist is because of the government and MPG purposes, First thing I do to my cars if spec’d with 0w20 is drain the 0w20 and go with 5w30, The low tension piston rings and thinner oils for fuel economy coupled with extended drain intervals are a recipe for disaster.
love your videos - i bought a used rex (narrow body) after watching ALL of your videos. I seriously think i can pull, refresh and put back the ej in after seeing your detailed videos! I appreciate the effort youre putting into your videos brother
guilty on the tune one. Got my Forester XT at 180,000 miles and have driven to 217,000+ miles with no tune and some bolt-ons. So far no Issues other than having to replace injectors once so far, but definitely getting a pro-tune soon, hopefully as soon as I get headers to be FBO
Buy once cry once lol love it. Also, the number of vb wrx owners that have said the car doesn't need a tune in the vb wrx reddit page blows my mind. There are so many unaware owners who refuse to do the smart thing and get it tuned, but then the engine grenades, and they want to complain and cry about it.
@crypticmushu1560 no but the vb community has been extremely vocal about not needing a tune because the vb self tunes and all this other crap or that a cold air intake is fine to run without a tune. Starting to see more people break their engine and have seen more than a few destroy their transmission because they think the vb transmission is upgraded over the va and it still the same transmission and it's weak beyond 400whp and 400 lb-ft.
I’m excited to go fbo with my sti I almost got all my parts ready just waiting on a grimmspeed turbo. Going to have 1300cc injectors headers, dp, rails, top mount intercooler
Tomorrow I pick up my 2021 STI I’ve wanted since high school! You’ve been a huge source of knowledge and kept me interested in Subarus over the years! Keep it up 🔥
Great content as always. There are better platforms for the instant gratification of some of the bolt ons. However, when done right, the Subarus are pretty tough to beat from a driving experience perspective in that class of car.
Whats the best way to get a rear LSD in a 2010 WRX(GR), Im guessing just go for the 6spd swap? Seems like it might be dumb just upgrading rear diff if 5spd is glass and all 🤔
For all the people looking for a used Subie m, listen to this man. No lies detected. The PPI will save you big time. I’m on my second WRX and the first one I had less than 30days. Get the PPI it will save you from heart ache.
Damn, 3 hits hard haha. The STI I picked up had absolutely no reliability mods done and nothing maintenance-wise outside of oil changes. It's always disappointing to see what should've been, but hasn't. Hopefully, I was able to get some reliability mods on in time to save the motor. So far, so good, at least!
After owning a sti for 3 years and it being my first turbo car and first Subaru I’ve never had anything crazy other then a bad turbo which was warranty and I had the crank pulley explode on me when I started my car on a Monday after work but other then that it’s been amazing every time I go to buy anything I do research but it’s a daily so I don’t see the car making anything over 320whp I enjoy the car as it is the only thing I noticed is that they seem to have a bi polar personality sometimes 😂
This reminds me that I should probably tune my 2018 WRX I bought 2 years ago from dealership since I don't know whether it's been modified or not. Still runs great and even took it on a few road trips but better to be safe than sorry.
I just picked up another wrx but it’s an 06 wrx wagon. My old one was a 2019 and I left it alone. I wanna drop in a 6-speed from a 2015+ wrx since mine is about toasted and the front diff doesn’t sound good. Only person I see kinda do it is your buddy who tunes your cars. Just want maybe 300hp since it’ll just stay as my daily dad wagon.
Why hate on the ej20x and y ? Been running one for almost 2 years now , bolt ons , ej255 intake and exhaust and turbo , tuned on 94 , makes like 265whp 16psi , I follow a guy online - bolt ons on his ej20x internals and on e85 and makes 430whp. These are strong and capable motors but do require a lot of extra finesse and understanding. But someone knowledgeable as yourself shouldn’t be adding to the misconceptions on these swaps by simply hating on it. The dual AVCs isn’t an issue. Retard the timing and tune it and it’s fine
Wow, great video, guess I’m not doing too bad. Only thing I “kind of” regret is buying a UEL vs EL. I love my rumble on UEL, but I didn’t realized exactly how any ponies it steals from you. I’m just a street car though so it’s still a blast! 💥
The first owner of my current 06 STI bought it brand new and installed a turbo back exhaust without cats and a short ram intake with no tuning at all and was driving it hard. Short story. Cracked a piston and parked it for years with only 12k miles. I bought it super cheap and installed a Type RA block put back the stock intake and installed a Cobb I'm only at 36k mile and the car is still basically new 💪🏽
#4 to be exact 😂 I also installed one of those piston #4 cooling mods. No sure if the work but just to be sure And a air oil separator. Don't want any problems 🖖🏽
Your channel has been helpful. Im in the process lf getting a ' 15 STI w/45k from a dealer & friend that we sold cars together. Bone stock with N1 single exit. Keeping it stock as dealership is offering it with a 10yr/200,000k powertrain warranty from my purchase date.
I think it’s a learning curve for everyone in their own way, but I can’t agree more with the have a rough plan. It’s never going to be perfect to plan but it helps when you at least have the baseline parts you need regardless of what happens.
It’s funny you said most people will have fun with these cars and then trade it in for something more family friendly. I did the opposite. I had a 21 Aacent, with a nameless cat back and Cobb AP, just traded it in for a 21 wrx.
oh man these new VA owners on FB group are ridiculous. They argue left and right when people give them good advice and say things like "ETS says it on their website, their intake don't need a tune". months later "welp my mechanic said its a rod knock, anyone know any reputable shop/tuner in (insert whatever state they're in) area?"
I'm just here to start my first modding journey, but i know jack all about cars. I got a stock manual 2023 wrx and a rather vague idea of what I want to do as I don't really know all of what I can do but I knew the wrx would fit the bill and is the car I want to modify. What I do know I want is more power but not to what extent and to make it look cooler (but that's a given tbh). So I guess I'm here to figure out what does what rather than what to do to accomplish X goal. Luckily I got more than enough time to do that
Hey bro, love the videos, I’ve used your educational points to mod my 2019 wrx. So far I’ve gotten it to 365 whp with all bolt ons and a tune. Looking to cap out at 400. Tuned for flex fuel. So far I have intake, jpipe, upgraded intercooler and radiator, upgraded LP fuel pump, and catch can. What would be the next move to achieve that goal to 400?
If you buy something Cobb related make sure you or a buddy have a Cobb v3 so you can un marry the ap from the ecu and then run open source tuning via ecu flash and rom raider for logging or enginuity or whatever open source program you want. Cobb also will I marry your ecm for a small fee as well.
Getting a PPI, is there a recommended shop? Is it better to go to a subaru dealership or to find a shop that specializes in subaru? Is there a good way to tell if the car had mods taken off and accessport removed?
I got my car on a reverse sort of deal. The kid sold it to me “knocking” and I thought he was right because the AP was registering a lot of knock and DAM was dropping almost instantly. Get the car home pop the hood and start fiddling around - don’t see much - start it up and hear 0 knocking. Hook up my manual oil pressure gauge and it’s 97psi cold start. The car was registering a brass fitting chattering against a hard line as knock and the car was never tuned for the exhaust and down pipe that was on it so it was just all confused on the AFR side and probably causing some detonation. Got the tune fixed, fixed a million vacuum leaks, car has been my daily for over 2 years now with almost 0 issues.
Sounds like there’s a bunch of people who like to do a lot of cool stuff, I’m just looking at a new wrx as a daily and something to have a lil fun in compared to my ‘07 2500 Silverado getting back and forth to work and trips with the family.
Ahhhhhh. I have a question. Thank you so very much for your advices. But still didn't find the answer on my question. Which is what to do when you want subbaru sti but you don't want to spend too much money for it? Please advise me on my dilemma 😮?
Great points as always, being a Subaru owner for 3 years now, I've made a few Subaru buddies that I've always helped and its always been because of what I've learned here and across old forums. I always tell them to watch your videos and have enjoyed seeing them fix and build their cars also along the way. As for used long block assemblies, something that a person is providing leakdown numbers for with paperwork would you think is a safe buy? Trying to get something figured out for my car that hasn't blown yet but uses a qt/500. Hope you can get a new powertrain figured out for the STI brotha, Coyote swap would be an absolute monster; especially with how efficient they can be 👀
Glad to hear the videos help 🫶 They can still be hit or miss because you never really know how it’s been treated. Some are good others not so much. And we’ve got some stuff in the works 🔥
I have a Mustang with a Gen 2 FBO Coyote running E85. Thinking about trading in for a 21 STI or a 22 or newer wrx. Baby on the way. What could made the similar experience with price and smile factors included?
I bought a clapped out va with a second motor installed, and I have struggled with it and have many times looked at selling it. I have persevered and took my time juggling the fixes and maintenance. I know about 3 of these rules up close and personal. My goal is just to have a little more power than stock and a clean look nothing over the top also realizing I have a budget, family, and life.
Hello, so i have a 2018 Subaru WRX CVT, I have had it for 2 years now, as a daily driver and i am nearing 60,000 miles. I have no plans on going crazy with modifications, upon from seeing the first minutes of the video lol and articles and videos i have seen of CVT specifically on the WRX. if anything they would be for looks, taillights for example, aftermarket front and rear bumpers, wheels, exhausts for sound, drivetrain mods to help the driving/reliability. If it is not too much to ask, could you give me advice in any mods that i can do to this car for reliability, performance, etc. Much appreciated, to you and to anyone else who answers this! Love the videos.
Great stuff as always. Just was curious if it’s worth taking out the secondary air pump. Have an 08 wrx hatch. Wanted to stage 1 one it with the Cobb but heard the new V3 won’t let you unless you keep the pump. Not sure what direction is best
I’ve heard that with the Gen2 BRZ without turbos; Subaru stated that more than 10% ethanol is not recommended. My car is staying stock engine wise and I run Sunoco 93. Which is the highest pump octane in my state. Is it true that stock engines have issues with higher levels of ethanol?
02 WRX with 180,000 miles. Don’t know the story of the car before the guy we bought it from but the previous owner(s) did a full mishimoto tubing kit, “cold” air intake, and an N1 exhaust. They cut the heat shield on the turbo so I assume the engine or turbo has been out before. But before we bought it, it sat for 15 months. When we got it we ran the old gas out, got a new fuel pump, and drove it for a while and them the turbo seal went bad. So we replaced the turbo. Well eventually I guess the previous owner didn’t get a tune or we fucked up because the heads cracked around the spark plug holes. All 4 of them have cracks from the valve seat to the threads. Due to constantly doing work on thr car trying to fix the issues we ended up doing like 3 oil changes within less than 2500 miles so it’s not that. But getting a new long block, yes from Ebay, because we don’t have a choice, will get a tune definitely, since I got a VF39 snd STI Pinks from a friends part out along with some interior bits. If it dont work, im fucked and its GG for the WRX for a long ass time until I start making good money. If we just made a mistake I wanna know so I can prevent that. Aside from the Ebay engine because we dont have $5000 for a fresh stage 1 IAG long block or however much they cost.
Tanner! I just bought a daily driver 09 Honda Fit for the regular gas mostly.. but I'm also a gearhead and don't know when to just DRIVE a car. Could you do a K-swap Honda someday? I wanna K swap my Fit because it is dangerously slow.. and it seems like it would be a riot. Saw V-Tec Academy do it and it would be fun to see your take on a K swap. Also, can we call them Little Timmy Jim or Jimmy Tim? 🤣
Will a 3port catch can cause increase crank case pressure or oil leak issues? I did the Killer B oil pick up kit, cylinder 4 coolant mod and new clutch. Dealer said car has a tune and it puts down 350hp. Car is stupid quick for me, but it's a daily driver. Not my race car. Will a ebay catch can be OK?
I'm just making my Crosstrek better to daily. So far I've gotten a shift stop, pitch stop and k&n. Works as intended and the suspension can handle shitty ny roads and snow
i have yet to get my sti, i want to get one but im not sure what year. I was thinking 2016-2019. Mainly just want to have it since it’s my dream car but probbaly have it go to 400-600hp if possible. I just don’t know what to get lol.
My 4th gear syncro is giving out. Quoted 4k for a transmission rebuild. Have seen IAG 1-4th straight cut for around 6k online so 7k-ish total. What other recommendations does thy..... recommend?
been watchin ur videos randomly for a looong ass time they have definalty help me to not over do my mods currently have a 2018 STI and have only put "realiability" mods mostly ive got a maperformance i take and a Nvidia N1 catback amd a cobb port with stage 1+ i take it to my local drags sometimes so i can open her up amd have alil fun one day gonna full buildwith an IAG block🤓🤤
I guess my mistake was not looking into the future when I bought my Wrx. If your goal was 350hp sure the Wrx is a nice daily but I didn’t see myself wanting 500hp+ and the STI would’ve been a better purchase.
Hey, Tanner. I recently put a deposit down on a 13 sti. Super happy. It currently has a perrin intake, with what I'm assuming is an invidia catted downpipe. It doesn't have an accessport. I'm picking up the car Saturday and will be ordering an accessport for it early this week, so when i pick it up, I'll have the accessport on it.What's should I do about driving it home? Should I stay under 4k revs and no boost. Appreciate the content.
bro i have a question hopefully you respond im planning to get a grimmspeed drop in filter for my bone stock sti. will i get any check engine light in a long run? (i know grimmspeed already mention that i do not need a tune for this filter but wanted to make sure from experience like you). hopefull i can get a respond thank you!!!
I just got a 06 WRX and I am running into that same issue mentioned on this video, where I don't want to even drive the car because the owner kept the access port. I'm learning as I go but I got the car for almost two months now and only used it the first week. 😅😢
what would you recommend to someone who wants to daily a cool looking car that sounds beautiful? i’ve wanted a wrx forEVER and bought a legacy three years ago cuz it was all i could afford. now im working to save up to get a “cooler” car, not sure where to start or what i should get? also i dont know how to drive a manual and am afraid to learn on a potentially very expensive car, ive been looking into like 2017+ wrxs
I have my 09 WRX, want to make it a little faster and make it look nice, maybe 290-310ish? Is there a way to do that reliably with the 5 speed? (Im sorry to turn the comments into a Q&A
I’m new to Subarus just got my 2018 wrx in Dec. yes it’s a cvt as I’ve had multiple knee surgeries and can no longer drive manual. With that said, I’m not looking to make crazy hp with it as it’s my daily and my only car. Also being a mechanic I have little experience working on them but lucky enough to have a couple buddies that are techs at Subaru dealers so I get advise from them. I’ve done a couple things to it but not much. It is still stupid fun car to drive being a cvt.
@@Smeedia yeah. I asked my Subaru tech bubbies and they said they are good. I love the wrx. Funnest car I’ve ever owned. I got it with only 33,000km on it, there are things do want to do to it for more power but like is I’m not looking to go crazy. Maybe get it to 300hp and I’m good. I don’t race or do anything just some spirited driving now and then lol
i’m looking at getting a forester xt to modify it i found a stock one used for highway driving it has 227,000k’s but its cheaper than normal do you think its worth it?
I got my wrx at 103k. I was told it probably had valve lash. Is my best bet to keep it until it blows? She’s at 155k now. 50k miles on a catted downpipe, cold air intake, aos, boost controller, and tune ofc.
@@SmeediaThe shop I went to didn’t want to put it on the dyno to tune it, if I remember correctly it’s because it was showing signs of knocking. Without taking it apart they though it might have been because of valve lash. I don’t fully understand what valve lash is.
for real though... your the reason i bought my 17 STI . hella good information on everything subies man. appreciate your content ! i came over from being a Audi fanatic and being spoiled adding performance parts with no tune needed... SPOILED i say lol Subies are 100% pay to play cars, but man id be lying if i didnt say its the best car ive owned.
Also, you dont need 1000 hp. I was always chassing higher numbers until i realized the more power i got, the less i used it. Proper tires and suspensiion with 350 can take down bigger monsters than you think.

That's not just a vb problem.
@ranran2218 oh I completely agree man. They'll throw stuff on and then when they blow they always trash subarus like it's a subaru problem.
Keep it up 🔥
Picking it up today?! 👀🥳
@@Smeedia got it last night! First stick car 😭
If you don’t know what your looking for a PPI is a life savor 👌
Damn, 3 hits hard haha. The STI I picked up had absolutely no reliability mods done and nothing maintenance-wise outside of oil changes. It's always disappointing to see what should've been, but hasn't. Hopefully, I was able to get some reliability mods on in time to save the motor. So far, so good, at least!
Seen some scratchy subies around my area. Either the dudes cheap out or lack the knowledge on EJ's and FA's. Glad you make videos like this Tanner 👍🏽
I see cheap parts give so many problems sometimes 😢 here to help where I can 🫡
I want to say thank you for helping me with finding the turbo for my legacy gt it was a big help thank you again
The just comes with the territory with these things 😂
@@Smeedia quite the opposite when I get into my girlfriends Kia forte😂
After all these years I still enjoy the Ric Flair woo! Don’t ever stop that ❤
I’ll keep it rolling 💪
Retard the timing and tune it and it’s fine
love you! thanks for all the reminders as my car is in several pieces scattered about the garage
Hopefully it won’t be scattered for too much longer 🥲
@@Smeedia Parts order is going in soon!!
Wow, great video, guess I’m not doing too bad. Only thing I “kind of” regret is buying a UEL vs EL. I love my rumble on UEL, but I didn’t realized exactly how any ponies it steals from you. I’m just a street car though so it’s still a blast! 💥
Good timing as im going to be starting my first build soon. Not in a rush so i want to do it right.
The first owner of my current 06 STI bought it brand new and installed a turbo back exhaust without cats and a short ram intake with no tuning at all and was driving it hard. Short story. Cracked a piston and parked it for years with only 12k miles.
I bought it super cheap and installed a Type RA block put back the stock intake and installed a Cobb
I'm only at 36k mile and the car is still basically new 💪🏽
I’ve seen my fair share of cracked pistons 😅
#4 to be exact 😂
I also installed one of those piston #4 cooling mods. No sure if the work but just to be sure
And a air oil separator.
Don't want any problems 🖖🏽
Just got my first AP for the subi. These cars are very timid compared to Hondas and Nissans. But always wanted a subi. Cheers to longevity of the FA
Saves a TON of money so you’re not having to buy parts twice. 👌
Very informative! I tell a lot of people the same when it comes to the chassis I'm familiar with.
Great advice for anyone building a car!! Solid video 👌

Luckily I got more than enough time to do that
miss your VB content.
That wrx is clean ⛓️💥⛓️
My 21 sti made some decent numbers atleast for me. Gs tmic, Cobb bpv Cobb dp, Cobb redline intake, Cobb turbo inlet, Cobb aos, Cobb fpr, iag fuel lines, iag rails, Cobb 1050 injectors, Cobb flex kit, Cobb fuel pressure sensor, aem 340 , iwire fuel pump hardwire, holy header(elh) coated, koyorad radiator, iag street oil pan kit, getadom cylinder 4 mod, gs ebcs, gs turbo heat shield, aem wideband, oil temp, oil pressure guages, Kartboy SS and bushings, fortune auto coils, perrin rear sway, whiteline lrca, whiteline bump steer kit, perrin front and rear endlinks, titan 7 wheels, awe touring catback. Tuned by torqued performance 320whp 350 tq on 91 acn. 353 whp 420tq on E85. Looking to do a 20g turbo, upipe w ewg and fmic next year.
Please advise me on my dilemma 😮?
do you recommend modifying a Crosstrek Sport?
Great points as always, being a Subaru owner for 3 years now, I've made a few Subaru buddies that I've always helped and its always been because of what I've learned here and across old forums. I always tell them to watch your videos and have enjoyed seeing them fix and build their cars also along the way.
As for used long block assemblies, something that a person is providing leakdown numbers for with paperwork would you think is a safe buy? Trying to get something figured out for my car that hasn't blown yet but uses a qt/500.
Hope you can get a new powertrain figured out for the STI brotha, Coyote swap would be an absolute monster; especially with how efficient they can be 👀
Glad to hear the videos help 🫶
They can still be hit or miss because you never really know how it’s been treated. Some are good others not so much.
And we’ve got some stuff in the works 🔥
@@Smeedia Thats a good point to remember. I'll definitely be keeping that in mind as I decide what I do.
Glad to hear it 😎
I have a Mustang with a Gen 2 FBO Coyote running E85.
Hopefully it starts competing with you soon, I know that stuff adds up real quick
If I get an AWE exhaust would I need to tune it? Love the vids
Great information, thank you. 👍
Works as intended and the suspension can handle shitty ny roads and snow
you look so different when you don’t have a wide angle lens slapped on your face 😂
Do I look normal? 😂
@@Smeedia yeah but it’s very unusual haha
I have a Outback Wilderness, what would be the estimated cap HP for its CVT and FA24 engine for rally/off road use?
Do a Ferrari v8 swap like Sam Albert from Dirtfish did. That thing sounds soo good.
I’m deep in eBay on some auctions right now for ideas 😂
@@Smeedia2JZ with a rear wheel drive conversion?
Been looking at a K and N air intake for my daily 2020 WRX, would I need a tune for it? and if so should I get an access port for that tune?
I want a SJ forester or newer gen. With a turbo and manual. How realistic is that?
i have yet to get my sti, i want to get one but im not sure what year. I was thinking 2016-2019. Mainly just want to have it since it’s my dream car but probbaly have it go to 400-600hp if possible. I just don’t know what to get lol.
I think I owe you partial credit for my wrx not becoming a bomb yet 😂
What about changing to a parallel fuel rail set up? It should prevent pre detonation and give a little better stability.
Tbh you won’t really notice any difference between series or parrell for most set ups out there
I guess my mistake was not looking into the future when I bought my Wrx. If your goal was 350hp sure the Wrx is a nice daily but I didn’t see myself wanting 500hp+ and the STI would’ve been a better purchase.
the intro of you and the car really goes well together if only the headlights were in that would've been cool ( 0:02 )
I took its eyes 😂
oh no pun not intended we're going in blind my dude
Hey, Tanner. I recently put a deposit down on a 13 sti. Super happy. It currently has a perrin intake, with what I'm assuming is an invidia catted downpipe. It doesn't have an accessport. I'm picking up the car Saturday and will be ordering an accessport for it early this week, so when i pick it up, I'll have the accessport on it.What's should I do about driving it home? Should I stay under 4k revs and no boost. Appreciate the content.
Stay out of boost and don’t hammer on it. For those mods it will need a pro tune 🫡
Once I get the car. I'm going to talk to a local shop who tunes them and will get it pro tuned immediately.
bro i have a question hopefully you respond im planning to get a grimmspeed drop in filter for my bone stock sti. will i get any check engine light in a long run? (i know grimmspeed already mention that i do not need a tune for this filter but wanted to make sure from experience like you). hopefull i can get a respond thank you!!!
I just got a 06 WRX and I am running into that same issue mentioned on this video, where I don't want to even drive the car because the owner kept the access port. I'm learning as I go but I got the car for almost two months now and only used it the first week. 😅😢
His analogies on selling subarus is spot on. My favorite is it has a small tick. As it sounds like a ball peen hammer driving on the case half.
what would you recommend to someone who wants to daily a cool looking car that sounds beautiful?
i’ve wanted a wrx forEVER and bought a legacy three years ago cuz it was all i could afford. now im working to save up to get a “cooler” car, not sure where to start or what i should get?
also i dont know how to drive a manual and am afraid to learn on a potentially very expensive car, ive been looking into like 2017+ wrxs
i have so many questions but don’t know anyone that’s familiar with subarus or anything other than like ford and chevys 😓
I have my 09 WRX, want to make it a little faster and make it look nice, maybe 290-310ish? Is there a way to do that reliably with the 5 speed? (Im sorry to turn the comments into a Q&A
Just got a 23 wrx and was thinking of goin to e85 fuel for a daily. Is there any information on how well that runs
They’re solid units, more commonly I see people trying to push the CVTs power wise and it never ends well lol
It had valve lash? Like the valve lash was out of spec? 👀
Thats such an accurate representation of them 😂 they got some character to em 😅
i am planning on doing a flat six swap on my 02 outback. is the engine more reliable than the 2.5 flat 4 that is in it now?
Also, you dont need 1000 hp. I was always chassing higher numbers until i realized the more power i got, the less i used it. Proper tires and suspensiion with 350 can take down bigger monsters than you think.
