The last 30 seconds man... That's was my worst fear this past summer. I rented a lift to do a bunch of work on my 5th gen Camaro. Was upgrading the oil pump, deleting my factory oil cooler, upgrading my aftermarket oil cooler, adding racing oil pan baffles and cut a section of the subframe to make it removable to make it easier to work on in the future. My first time tackling something this involved. I thought it was going to be a 8-10 hour job... 24 working hours later, I was running out of lift time. I rushed to get everything back together and because the engine had nearly every single oil passage drained, I was going to pull the fuel pump fuse to prime oil system with the starter. Guess what I forgot to do in the rush? The car started right up and I had rod knock for 0.25 of a second, but disappeared. I still shut it down and my heart sank... The lead mechanic was in the shop and heard it too. He said that was pretty normal in this situation and to start it back up to see if it came back. Started it up, and it sounded great. The 30 minute drive home was the most anxiety I had experienced, listening for ANY weird noise. Luckily what happened to Jobe did not happen to me. She has been running great since! Sorry your luck was not on your side man!
Hey, pardon the advice, you may already know this, but if you are ever doing that again: if you floor the pedal during startup (holding both the brake and accelerator to the floor), the engine will crank but it doesn’t start. Works on all my modern GM and Ford vehicles and even an LS3 crate motor. Allows you to prime the oiling system without having to unplug the ECU or a fuse. I’m glad your car is okay!

I loved my e46 M3. My favorite project was the valve adjustment since that isn’t a common project for a modern-ish car. Built my own valve adjustment tool from an old tooth brush, heating and bending the head, and gluing a rare earth magnet. Would have loved to see you do that in a future episode and you might as well toss a vanos repair in there too.
I’ve been watching Alemio Network since the beginning of the presale, and it’s looking more solid every day. Might be one of the better DeFi plays this year.
Zach, don’t forget the rear subframe mount reinforcements. The sheet metal of the body is cracked on almost every E46 at those mounts. Turner has a weld-in kit that works well. Keep up the good fight.

Longest 9:24 ad ever😂😂
I've been paying for premium since it was TH-cam Red. This ad made me really consider cancelling and getting a good ad block that actually blocks all ads.
@@burgerbait sponsorblock is your friend here ;)
Bigtime does ads right. They seem sincere, they back products they believe in and their skits are amazing
Love me some bimmer content
The ending is SO real, cars are pain (as much joy as they bring us) they're non-stop heartaches
when it says Pt 1 you know it's gonna be good
I watched every second of your sponsor ad.

I use 303 for my convertible top. Cleaner and rain repellent works great!
You must have installed them wrong spinning a rod bearing doesn’t just happen out of nowhere especially without a knock first
But why?
I’ve been watching Alemio Network since the beginning of the presale, and it’s looking more solid every day. Might be one of the better DeFi plays this year.
303 protectant has been saving my melting dash in my is250 for years!! Great stuff
That sponsor segment us the first one ive actually watched all the way through without skiping good engagement
Vanguard tier bonuses look incredible! Alemio is rewarding its loyal presale participants and early adopters well!
5:46 BigTime is so good I watched the entire ad without skipping
Zach, don’t forget the rear subframe mount reinforcements. The sheet metal of the body is cracked on almost every E46 at those mounts. Turner has a weld-in kit that works well. Keep up the good fight.
I'm pretty stoked 303 was your ad! been using them forever too and I'm glad they're becoming more popular!
It hits me now and then how happy I am to see you guys back in the OG garage
Replacing the rod bearings in my Integrale tomorrow...when I spun one it did not sound like that. So not worried too much, prob just that serpentine belt... Still, brain going nuts at this point...
Finally the E46 M3 video GOATED!!
😵💫😵💫crazyyyyy seeing my model (not a M3 but E46 chassis ) on this channel makes meeee happpy
man, the highs and lows of this episode..
definitely the best ad I've ever seen. can't wait to see the rebuild
This is content I want from you guys. You make working on cars a learning and entertaining!
I've had a similar experience where my car died on the road after a long fix/ improvement, heartbreaking. Can't wait to see what's next! what a cliff hanger. best ad too, here for it, BigTime.
9:10 - “Wanna thank thweee oh three” 😂😂😂 Jeremiah speaks as coherently as I do sometimes
First time I've seen an ad without skipping.... love your channel and content guys
As a fellow E46 M3 owner myself this is my fear. I hope it’s just the wrong serp belt as you weren’t in high rpm range and no knocking noise prior to the “failure”. Can’t wait for the next episode. This is the series I’ve been waiting for!
I was impressed with the cleanliness of the car in the opening shot, made for a great ad!
absolutely MEMORIZED by here gorgeous locks 😂 oh Jobey...
I hate to say buy the commercial 303 baby. Made me buy some. Love the riff. Can you guys do like a bill and ted pretending to be car guys
Bro. This content is genuinely amazing. Please keep it coming. Also best of luck with the beemer, hopes and prayers up 🙏
I feel you man ❤️, keep working We all love to watch you
BigTime does, "We have CSL at home" and I'm here for it. M3s are just fun cars.
I was as happy for you when you got that broken bolt out as if I did it. That is the power of friendship, it seems.
I have to admit you cats are definitely creative with your ads I think yours are the only ones I don’t ff.
Finally, I've had my eye on this m3 since the start of BT!
This is a YT storytelling masterpiece. I’ve never enjoyed watching an ad more.
this is the kind of content that got me into cars and absolutely love about you guys. lfg
First, where the hell is Jere on this!? You help him in his builds! Also, legit looked like you wanted to cry (and could have with no judgement). If my mans is acting, give him an award!
Jobey, saw ya in Tuscon down at the finish line since that is where I could park with trackside parking. I wanted to say I recently go into a BMW (back into Euro), an Estoril Blue M235i with red interior. I am super stoked about this car, where I haven't been in a long time (went BRZ>STI>M235i in 6 years). I was heavily modifying my BRZ until I was hearing valve issues/possible rod knock. I started with a MKIV Jetta (sold to my lil brother and he still has it, but it doesn't run) and learned everything about working on cars with that Jetta. I love that ECS is where you came from! Loved you on Donut, the three Js Jere, Jobe and of course James. You and Jere's personalities are ver personable and approachable. As if you were a car centric homie. Being a DIY'er where I can be, seeing bimmer content is very encouraging and exciting! Except the end....
been a big fan since i first saw y’all on donut way back when, and i appreciate the creativity and meta-ness of the ad spot, but 4 min is wild even in a 30 min video
i take back what i said after finishing the video. that was potentially very expensive. use all the ad space you feel like
