Hey dude, just wanted to add after replacing pads turn headset on, put them on and hold the custom button for 2 seconds to re-optimize the noise cancelling. It's very important because the new pads likely use cheaper (or at least different) foam so the characteristics are changed.

Worked perfectly. I even checked the sensor and auto pausing when they're taken off and playing when they're placed back on. Everything works as expected. I've only been wearing mine for a few minutes and already love it. Thanks!

Today I swapped the original ear pads on my Sony WH-1000XM4 headphones with the replacement ear pads I’d purchased from Wicked Cushions. It was super easy to swap the original pads for the new ones. The video here shows you everything you need to know in order to do a successful install.
One thing I did differently was that instead of a butter knife I used a bass guitar pick; one of those big thick triangular picks. I didn’t want to risk scratching my beloved headphones with a metal knife.
I went with the black protein leather pads. They match the original pads perfectly. You would never be able to tell that they were different from the original pads.
After installing the new pads I listened to a few hours of music and audiobooks while I did chores around the house. My new Wicked Cushion pads feel great on my head and work exactly as expected.
I had tried to buy ear pads made by one of WC’s competitors, but their online store was having problems processing credit card payments and I wasn’t able to complete my order. I was slightly disappointed about having to go with another ear pad maker. Now that I’ve used the WC pads for a few hours, I have no regrets about buying from them.
I use my headphones more than most people; usually between 6-8 hours per day. I bought my Sony XM4s about 9 months ago. The foam in the original ear pads had lost much of its springiness, and my ears were starting to touch the fabric inside the ear cup. I’m very happy to have my beloved headphones back to their original state.

May i ask about noise canceling as i swap the earpad and the noise just come through the headphones
@@nabilshariff4799 I’m just a customer, but in my experience when I took off the old pads and put on the new, the settings on my headphones had reset to factory settings. This is not a big deal because I had saved my settings on the app that goes with the headphones. I would say that the new ear pads actually made the noise canceling work better than it had before.
I’ve been using the new ear-pads for about six weeks now. I would estimate that I’ve used the headphones with the new ear-pads for 200 hours or more. They are still like new. They’ve been made with high quality materials that hold up to heavy use. I highly recommend this product.

The reason why I want to change the pads is because of my oily skin. Every time I wear them even for 15 or 20 minutes, the pads will be a bit oily and i have to wipe them with some alcohol.
Are these after market pads will solve this issue ?
@@MouathAlawadhi I’ll take this opportunity to update my original review. I’ve been using my headphones with these replacement ear pads for about four months. They are perfect. No problems at all. Everything I said before still applies here.
As to problems with oily skin in the pads; this might not make a difference for you. These ear pads are incredibly similar to the original factory pads. I feel that these pads are slightly better quality than the original pads, but still incredibly similar in almost every way.
I think this company sells pads with cloth or velour fabric rather than the simulated leather. You may want to give those a try. The price is reasonable so it couldn’t hurt.

Coming from a Bose QC35 I missed the same comfort with the default Sony XM4 pads. My ears basically touched the driver, and I could not wear it for more than 2 hours. So basically found these on Amazon, and gave it a try. These pads are much thicker than the default ones, no more sore ears and can wear them the whole day without any issues now. I also did not notice any difference in sound quality, so all good :)

Got the Beige delivered to me today via Amz UK and I installed them straight away on my Black XM4's...as others have mentioned in various comments, the Noise Canceling does seem to take a small but noticeable hit with these ear-pads...which I personally find weird, but hey maybe Sony's originals have some kind of hidden powers within them that these ones don't have...or maybe my brain is just messing with me....this is even after I went through the Noise Canceling Optimizer process, post-install. Nonetheless, the look and feel of these Beige pads pairing with my XM4's easily outweigh any minor NC hit that they may bring. 😍

I am not sure how I can prove that in a video, our strong points are comfort and design.
Design I can show in a video, comfort is not something I can prove in a video, its something you have to feel.
Besides, we have a 365 day warranty, if you don't like them for any reason, we got you.

They are not, and yes we do plan, we are starting to work on it.

Hi, I was wondering if there are any earpads for the white version of WH-1000XM4, the Silent White. Or if I can't get them, do you think silver will fit okay onto the headphone?

I did not even know they have this colorway, for now we have no plans to release the white cushion, it seems like the silent white is a new colorway, correct?

Its hard to know how many did not hook all of the clips in place, which will affect NC. But the majority of the reviews seem to have a positive experience with those
Just found your video as I’ve had mine for a couple years now and the faux leathery material is wearing out. I wear them primarily while I work in a machine shop or when I go to the gym and I’m wondering if the difference in pad size affects the noise cancellation (for better or worse) and if the material is different, how does it hold up during a workout? It does affect it slightly, some people will not even notice a change.
As for working out, sweat will destroy every pad eventually, but we are working on sweat covers for XM4 :)

Any chance u also sell the foam under the ear cups? My pir is out of warranty and i have anc issues cause of moisture i think on that foam or stuck in the earcup and wonder if this will solve it

When are you guys going to have these available again. The three normal colors are sold out and there are no pattern replacements available for the XM4 either. I need to get a comfortable ear pad replacement for my new XM4, possibly ones with a cooling gel as well that aren’t made of PU leather.
These will be back in about 2 months.

No earpads are waterproof or sweat proof, they all either start to flake or smell. You might want to use sweat covers instead. We sell ones that kind of fit, but will cover the sensor. We are working on a dedicate cover eventually though

Very subjective, most don't feel a difference, some do. It depends on the shape of your ear, if they protrude more (hence are close to the headphone drivers), you will feel the NC better

I have a question, I have a bose QCII headphones, after 2 years of use the earcups started to wear and tear, so my question is will your ear cups live as long or longer?
Our cushions last more or less the same, since they are made with synthetic leather, SWEAT will erode them just like it does for any cushions. The thing is to clean them periodically of sweat so you can extend their lives

It defintely can, some don't feel it at all, some will. Depends on senstive you are.
Ours are thicker so it distances your ears from the driver, which is why it might affect it
if I put these on my xm4's would I be able to use the sweat cover on top as they are not compatible with the stock cushions?
Do you mean our SweatZ sweat cover?
Our SweatZ will fit both stock and our cushions, but not the best fit.
It will block the sensor & some people have complained that it may slip out when you are not using the headphones.
I personally myself had used it on my XM4, I liked it, but again, not for everyone which is why we stopped advertising that it fits

You cannot put the cushion on top of the cushion, but, in about 2 weeks, our sweat covers for the xm4 will be out.

Do the Sony XM3 Pads fit the XM4? those Geo Grey pads look nice but I only see them on the website for the XM3's.
They do, but they block the sensor that stops the music when you take off the headset.

The stock earpads (supposedly made of synthetic leather) make my ears feel hot after a while, and makes me feel itchy a bit around the ear. Would your earpads prevent my ears from getting hot, and prevent the itchiness? What are your earpads made of exactly? Thanks!
Hey, we also use synthetic leather.
It will still get quite hot, but the itchiness might also come as a result from how thin the originals are.

Do you sell ear pads for the Sony that are more like the Bose QC35? I find the Sony pads are not firm enough and my ear is squished against the inner pad and my ears get hot and sweaty and I cant wear them for more then an hour with out having to take them off. My Bose QC35 don't have that issue at all. I like the sound on the Sony better but don't wear them because of the ear pads.
Its quite hard to create the same structure for these.
However, our cushions are fimer than the originals - always!

I can't find the silver color earpads for xm3. is it out of stock?
We kind of messed up the Silver color and actually released silver, instead of releasing the "goldish" color that Sony calls Silver.

You will notice somewhat of a change, but not drastic enough that it completely changes the signature xm4 sound

Yes, but major difference because of the left side sensor.
You can technically install XM3 pads on XM4, but the sensor will be blocked

How much more density and thicker are these ear pads? The original sony xm4 ones are not comfortable as they are too small and the density is too shallow that my ears are touching the inside of the ear pads. I'm looking to buy these ear pads if they have more comfort/space around the ears.
The reason the XM4 originals are not comfortable is mostly the thickness, the density does not have much to do with it.
Ours are less dense slightly, but about 30% thicker.

These will create a stronger clamping force on your head which should help with that problem - since these are extra thick.

@WickedCushions I think noise cancelation is not as good now. This would not be an issue if you used a slightly softer foam for your earpads. For a few well-known noise canceling manufacturers like Bose and Sony the original pads are much softer foam. This means the ear is closer to the speaker and the foam pushes around more of the head. Softer foam means better noise cancellation. Would you think of a soft foam version just to see? If you did produce them, no one would go back to the original manufacturer's pads.
The XM4 is a different case than the bose 700, the NC is affected mostly because of how much more thicker they are than the original. not really about the foam
@@WickedCushions I've done a side by side and the only difference between noise canceling correlates to the foam firmness. As other people have said in the Amzon reviews - the softer the foam the closer the ear is to the speaker, also the softer foam pushes around more of the head. In your testing you must have noticed this? Thanks for the good product, however, it could be better. Like many of us we have to end up going back to purchase the original foam pads from Sony just to get the headphones back to the original feel and more importantly the original level of noise canceling.

Is there anything I can do to prevent the headband or earcups from cracking or showing cracks? I just got mine yesterday, and my last headphones had the same problem. They cost me around $304, and I was heartbroken because of how expensive they were. The issue occurred while I was just wearing them on my head. Granted, there was some sweat on the earcups due to the heat outside. What can I do to ensure my sweat doesn't cause any problems, other than not wearing them outside or using them during activities that make me sweat? That seems pointless, haha.
There is no solution for wear and tear, all leather products eventually will wear out. Even if you do not use them while sweating - you still do sweat a tiny bit every time you put them on.
These products unfortunately do not last forever
