That's insane ❤
the link is not opening for free downloading, please update
edit:after 2 days, it works now, ty
Tried to download but not recognising any of my email address.
Download worked for me (16:00, GMT -5) just fine. THANK YOU!!
It requires a paid membership. Tho I'd love to support you I can't do that. I Was really interested in seeing how you did that fast ghost note triplets.
That cute little triplet slap sound is so sick.
True, but it's on the wrong beat. "I'm UP all night to have fun"
00:49 it's an octo++let ;)
That's more than a triplet.
triplet pluck thank you much
Almost like he's rolling the letters
This slaps harder than Will Smith
Will Smith will smith?
Will Will Smith Smith? @@ZekkenXZ
@@D_69420 Will Will Smith Smith Will Smith?
Awesome
Nah. This slaps harder than an abusive alcoholic father who just had a case of beer.
When "this helmet cost way too much" came up at 2:00 I sang that sentence with that melody.
Sick - it fits!
Ooo. Good catch.
I guess he did that on purpose
But the neon strings and LED lighting on the bass are the perfect counterpoint.
Now I can’t not do it
That triplet pluck is WILD. Adds so much flavour
Oh yeah, loved it, such a nice little lick!
Any chance there's a tutorial on this technique?
god damn yeah I'm drunk and I just clicked on this because sure why not great song love bass and then that tripluck happened and I had an out of body experience
Victor Wooten has entered the chat
Only halfway through the song does he already become one with Daft Punk. Fantastic arrangement
Thanks!
Yes great creativity 😅thanks for not doing the original bass only 😂
As long as we don't call him the Daft One! 🙃
@@CharlesBerthoud Remember ? no one knows who daft punk really are ,
except for the very few ,,
all i will say is "i think" George Michael knows them, Possibly* Jamiroquai
Lucky 5555 . omg ; D
The absolute skill in that one bit with multiple slaps in one movement is insane.
Most people can't appreciate just how difficult it is to pull off those triple plucks starting at 0:49 - those are 32nd notes with the index, middle, and ring fingers plucking the string just hard enough that the string snaps against the fretboard in quick succession. That must have taken a TON of practice!
I can't think of any bassist EVAR who used this technique before either! Charles is insanely dextrous, just wow.
Check out some music by bassist Stanley Clarke. He uses multiple fingers to pluck the strings for decades.
Unless you're Charles doing these videos, triple plucks get you fired from actual, real, paying gigs. Musically and groove-wise, what's so great about them?
@@YippeeSkippie426it's a fun way to break up a stale rhythm. Used more sparingly in the context of a normal song it could be quite cool
He was really playing that splish splash!
I was in a US Navy electronics school in 1969 and early 1970. There was a band that played at the EM club. The lead guitar was a bass. They were fantastic. I have no clue who they were but I wish streaming was available in those days. I love your music. Thanks for the all the pleasure you provide to my ears.
You got me smiling, laughing, playing drums on my office chair and just feeling great for 2 minutes and 40 seconds during your performance, and the feeling will last all day. Thanks, I needed that!
Charles produces another fabulous rendition of a pop song as though it was completely normal. Luck for us! Perhaps one of these efforts will eventually be so good it will even bring Winston back to life.
The skilful execution and the groove you lay down are absolutely electrifying!
This man is a wizard. Protecc him at all slaps.
Were up all night to get funky 🔥 🔥
Love the helmet 😂
It looks awesome but it's a nightmare to actually play in. The same can be said for most of my costumes, at least the second part 🤣
Not seeing anything in the helmet just makes it more awesome. You can play blind.
I agree it looks out of this world, even tho as a pianist I can tell that your eyes are much slower than your muscle memory and with practice playing mostly blind comes automatically. It’s like shifting gear in a car, if you did it 5 gazillion time, watching is pointless.
@@woody442I was about to say the exact same thing. It's all muscle memory (and a gazillion hours of practice).
He can probably see tho, otherwise why would he look at his hand. He just sees very poorly in that helmet I guess.
Jedi powers
Playing Blind you say? Would that make him... Charles Ray-toud? (I'll see myself out)
I'm in love with the angelic sound of the synthy harmonies starting at 1:44
I cannot handle the amount of COOL in this video!! The see through, light up bass; the glow in the dark strings; the light-up fret dots; an actual Daft Punk helmet.... Not to mention Charles just shredding it up like usual anyway...
Make it stop already!!
I genuinely think Dua Lipa's "Levitating" needs some bass attention, Charles. What do you think?
love the little harder faster better stronger easter egg with the arpeggios at 1:28
This man is absolutely fueled by NasTea, That was funky fresh as phunk!
Proof that just a little bit of talent and production can make an album timeless. If you have too much production you get radio crap
People don't realise how crazy it is that he puts out these great original songs on such a regular basis. Always pushing himself to write something new for us. We appreciate it!
I've never heard someone play an instrument in an accent! How you roll the N in "night" like you would an R in Spanish is amazing!
The Green Neon coated strings look great with the lighting, and the playing is masterful. Great show!
Where can I get these strings ?
@@mattlofty5884 DR makes color coated strings. The coating stops rust and some people say they sound better than non-coated. I have black or blue strings on my guitars that are black or blue.
This songs always give me chills
That arpeggio break is FIRE!!! 🔥🔥🔥
yeah its tight
Loving the whole thing!
The futuristic apocalypse part is my favourite, really catching the Daft Punk essens, just beautiful ❤
Perhaps one of the best solos I've ever heard! It fits in so well with Get Lucky, keep it up!
That tap section is so prog I love it.
Most underrated video on the internet!
It's been up for 10 minutes 🤣
Bot comment
Just got posted bro💀
It’s probably gonna get 100,000+ views within the first week or two
Been out 1 minute when this was posted, calls it "underrated" 😂
That upward triplet move is ace. Great video again, loved the SBL interview too.
Luminescent green strings & fret board. OMG
You ɓusted this man.
Just listened it a over 5 times in row and still going.
This should be a classic of a classic
I knew you were a robot, too good to be true. Jeez what a jam.
Charles, you are just simply amazing! Thanks for sharing your gift!
Gotta say I wish I could hit the like button a billion times because that was on a whole new level Charles! The precision and timing, everything was just brilliant!!!
Gorgeous looking (& of course, sounding) bass. Makes a little green frog's heart smile.
Dayum those tapocalypse and slapocalypse were pure madness!
wow, i love the tone of your 5 strings
Loving the light up bass!
Charles, you've got insane chops but the great thing is you keep the music front and centre . my hat is off to you.
Cheers, Ross
Very nice Charles. It's always a pleasure watching and listening to your amazing performances. 🎸
I enjoy every vid you upload. An amazing bass player
My favorite thing to do to random people is ask if they know who this guy is. If they don’t, I’ll show them one of these videos and watch as their face goes from neutral to pure awe
Charles, you never cease to amaze me with your talent and fun videos!!
Very cool sounds and tones!! You every bass you play sound AWESOME!!!
No way this dude ain't an alien.
This is my favorite song of all time so I am stoked. STOKED to replay this a thousand times. Thanks for sharing your creations with the world.
Wow so super nice! Love the sound of those arpeggios and that bass!
One of my fave! Thanks for playing in your own tap and slap style!!! 🙏🙏🙏
I hope you're having a blast making these excellent videos because I sure am having a blast watching them! Thanks so much!
Some can play it, some can play it better than others and there is Charles. Thx man ! Crazy stuff
Sadly, whoever played rhythm guitar on this excellent cover is merely "can play it" level. Nile Rodgers' feel and controlled inventiveness in the original is unmatched.
Awesome! Can't get enough of it!
You are an absolute legend, man. Your talent, creativity, passion, and inspiration is truly something to behold. I love it. Truly appreciate your content!
Loved your interview with SBL. Keep up the great work!
Charles this was very inspiring. I absolutely loved it! Technique and inspiration combined!!
You never cease to amaze.
Absolutely brilliant stuff.
Absolutely GREAT!!
I'm the one who suggested this song about a year ago, not once but twice, and I have to say, it's everything I imagined it would be. I'm sad that i can't go back and see ny comments because they were on community posts which disappear, but either way... I think I've played this video over 50 times, and the fact that it's available as an mp3 blows my mind. I used the crazy tapping part as my ringtone and it's insanely amazing. As always Charles, thanks for sharing your legendary talents with us!
Loved what stage 6 added to the arrangement - like a homage to their earlier stuff
Amazing performance! You’re so talented 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Music to my ears and soul !!! BRAVO. Artistry and musicality.
Sir, your actual talent is immeasurable. Hands down, jaw droppingly amazing!
You are truly your own man Charles. Such a high level of playing + humor. Love it. Thanks for the inspiration.
That’s was amazing as usual. I always love when you break out the acrylic bass.
As always a pleasure to watch you play.
Charles you are SO FREAKING TALENTED!!!! I absolutely love everything you do! I can't sit still watching/listening to you! Wow! Thank you for putting a smile on my face!
Your the best Charles! Thank you for your amazing music!
You cover all my fav songs
Such an amazing video, thanks you Charles
Awesome interpretation!
I was totally feeling it, as the groove warmed up. Surprised me!
Still fresh one hour later
Una bestia Charles!! Felicitaciones, cada día sorprendiendo un poco más. Abrazo desde Argentina.

Charles - words fail me. Oh for just an ounce of your talent and ability!
Love it Charles
So cool, much fun and exceptional techniques👋 Thanks for sharing.
Futuristic Tapocalypse and Slapocalypse had me hooked and the lights were mesmerizing. I had to play this song on repeat many times and I still can't get enough!
the man, the myth, the legend... Mr Berthoud!!
Excelent as always. Great song and great performance!
Well this puts my little cover video to shame! Mind-blowing as always, Charles! I'll keep practicing and catch up to you one day! Thanks for the inspiration!
You never cease to amaze!
The glowing bass strings with added bass illumination lightpocalypse is outstanding! ❤❤❤❤
Wow I cant stop listening to your video's thank you for put them up
You are such a good player love your style.
That is awesome and passionate. Well done brother.
Keep up the good work! I always love this channel! Don't always watch it, but when I DO, it absolutely SLAPS!
... Waohhhh !!!
Grettings from France 🙃
Toca demais, parabéns.
Thank you! I needed thjs tonight!
This is sooo beautiful!
I like the effort put into the production of the vids it really (almost) levels up with the bass playing skills. 👌🏻
Fantastic as usual!
I loved the whole song, but the tone of the bass that do the bass line, oooohhh man, what a perfect sound!
