I love Classical Thump, it is such a beautiful piece. I can only play one or two minutes of it, because it is so difficult... But "Tapical Thump" is even better than Classical Thump!

Charles has the unique ability to polish everything he plays.
Everything he plays sounds so clean and precise, almost like a bass robot. But not in a bad way! It's still got a character that I would recognize as his somehow

Agree. For Wojtek though, I think Charles wasn't wacking his bass enough to fully achieve the dynamics and power of the solo

I think I can safely say that I've seen most of the top bass players in the world. But with Charles B, he can mimic the top bass player Styles and add his own spin to it. So in my opinion, I would have to say that he is the best bass player in the world!
He is a master of bass surely and I like his playing more than Davie's. But like everyone else I believe the good composer-bass player is always a better one than the rest, TH-camrs or not. (For me)

It is even one of the worst, coz it sounds rly bad (i'm talking about the "impossible" part). Hard doesnt mean good. Charles basslines always sound terrific instead.

I mean, he can play, but you can see on the last one for example, it doesn't sound as clean as the original as he's getting close to his limit. So there's still a bit of challenge when we takes on these.
Anyway. His powers continue to grow stronger! So awesome!

Literally think Charles is the best bass player living right now honestly and I play bass everyday. He is just so clean and technical it seems impossible to get to this level without playing in your sleep 😂

It’s not that you are able to play these, it’s how you play them. So clean, no fret noises, perfect timing, clear and punchy sound and you can hear every single note. Amazing.

Bro you are cold. I don't give to many people compliments. You are effortless simulating all those bass line. You don't hit not a bad note. Perfection. You actually perfecting the original versions.
People who haven't tried a bass or guitar might not realize how much skill these guys have
I don't play either and I can see how hard it is. The effort, dexterity, speed is obvious. Not to mention if you've listened to music all your life you can hear the difference between this and your average bass. You don't have to play to recognise sloppy Vs precise or funky playing.
Music is mostly consumed by non musicians don't forget. I might not be able to replicate it, but I'm sure as hell feeling it.
Charles, you are an inspiration. I have been playing bass 40 years. You took the several of toughest and most iconic bass solos, from some of the best bassists in the world, and played improved and better sounding versions of them all, in a beautifully understated way, as if it was nothing. Well played sir.

@@artennsa6899"better than all" was a stretch. Being able to sound above average for a copy was enough credit due. It's what a lot of us bass players are striving for more or less already, unless you're creating new music... 🎶🎸🎵
Both Victor and Marcus are very efficient in their movements.
Wojtek is a bass God and hugely underrated
No kidding, I just discovered him a few months back and I really like looking for bass players that are out of the box types, search engines must really compartmentalize search results.
Because he is from Poland guys, not many ppl from eastern europe from early 80 are famous ;)
@@leepek3575 I am too, as well from 80's and I can say, being a Pole from 80's makes you 100 times less likely to be famous. The ones that are famous had to go trough much longer and difficult process than people from the west, simply coz there was less or even total zero money pumped in their fame. So you have had to become a "bass-God", before somebody really paid attention to you. Then, if your band sings in Polish and you stick with them, you may still be born much later, God-of-whatever, but you will get no recognition worldwide, ever.

@@leepek3575 very true, but one want to be a virtuoso, another one aim to sell. Yet another one thinks to entertain live. Doing something really good, may be actually priceless, you won't be able to progress same way as when focusing on stuff that sells out.
Wow. This guy plays the cleanest, most consistent, perfectly muted and timed (open to close) bass notes I've EVER heard, on all playing styles, at ANY speed, which is INSANE!! Bravo Sir, Bravo.
Victor Wooten goes twice as hard in his live shows and makes it look effortless. It is breathtaking. Great cover!

A testament to the deep skill all these guys have is that I can absolutely hit every note in these with practice, but I'm so in my head about it that I'll be rushing the tempo or dragging the whole way
My ability to do something does not mean I can do it like any of these guys, and certainly not like Charles!
It's not just the brilliant bass work, it's also the amazingly timed jokes. Like, "is that Will Ferrel on drums" and "enough talking, let's pla-"

Marcus Miller’s Fender bass tone has to be my favorite ever. It’s somehow very deep and light at the same time, punchy and articulated. Such a great sound.

The fact that Marcus slapped teen town is insane. I can only play teen town regularly, I can’t even imagine slapping it. But it’s also quite complex to get Jaco’s clear and crisp sound, while moving your hand and shaping a lot.
Honestly. I think Charles plays all those cleaner than the masters themselves. You're untouchable!! Would love to see you play in a band though.
I love Charles but keep in mind those videos have way worse recording quality plus older and Charles likely has top notch recording quality
Maybe my taste in bass isn’t mature enough yet but that wojtek pilichowski bass solo is definitely my absolute favorite bass solo ever. Honestly nothing I’ve ever heard even compares.

Wojtek Pilichowski is the best Polish bassist. He has been playing for many years and published books for bass players many years ago.
Check my patented fretboard invention. I include a part in my new vid where I show all the parts where Wojtek pulls the G string over FretCrowns to add extra note to pulloffs. It’s an interesting style he pioneered
