Yeah... in Episode 1 I mentioned that I thought the issues I would run into would be mechanical, and that has definitely proven to be correct. But I'm still plugging away and getting some miles in (albeit slower than I intended). My whole goal is to find places to fly, but I have to drive too and that is the big hang up at the moment. But more flights are coming! Thanks for watching Ripa! Much appreciated.
Those awkward situations with cables in the middle of nowhere if my friend accidentally made me laugh, one complicates one's life with a cable, something similar happened to me, but long live the adventure, time goes by quickly And the adventure continues my respects You are like we say here in Colombia, a badass 🎉
That was crazy. I didn't even see it and it could have been much worse. The adventure continues and more to come. Thanks for writing Mauricio! See you in Colombia.
The adventure just writes itself! Glad everything is okay and you were able to get the ATM. I think season 2 needs to be in a pickup truck or Jeep, because that motorcycle is slowing you down. 🙂 Anyway, glad things are working out. Looking forward to next week's episode.
For me, it's a bit too early to think about Season 2 and what transportation I'll use. For now I just need to get the Great Balance Machine through this one. ATMs are pretty hard to come by the farther north I head, so I'm learning to adjust accordingly. Jeep isn't a bad idea... and I have one already... but I'm not sure if it would be the same. Thanks as always for writing Greg.
My gosh, Kris! You must be guarded by Saint Christopher on this trip!! I repeat, I cannot believe some of the unbelievable luck you have had regarding your 'breakdowns'. Just uncanny you would be in the middle of 'nowhere' and get rescued by a road 'watcher'! Amazing. And, again, how can you not have your faith in humanity be continually 'refreshed' by all the kindness of strangers? I'm just so impresessed by your contacts on this adventure. No judgements here, bud. That fence encounter would be easy to fall into on a bike, or any vehicle, with inclement weather. Especially, with that single strand wire with no barbs. I too, have been stuck with my bike in a situation that required every bit of strength I could muster to keep from making situation worse by having it fall down. Really sucks! I don't know many bikers (that have ridden for some time) that haven't had an oncoming vehicle scare the hell out of you. My worst was a 'cattle hauler' passing another truck just as your situation, and leaving me thinking I was gonna die, right there. Riding can be treacherous. And, as you stated, you have only been able to show just 'pieces' of the bad encounters that you have experienced. If you write a book, I'll be the 1st to buy. I really appreciate that you are not just showing the 'tourist' side of this road trip, but some of the difficulties, as well. Makes it all so real. You have not stated any particulars, other than just saying you have concerns about the trip on the 'northern' part of Brazile. Are there any 'concerns' that you can share? Political, geography, societal??? Anyway, be safe, and as always, Blue Skies!
I'm definitely taken care of that's for sure. It seems I meet the right person at the right time, and I'm always taken care of. The breakdowns are a little frustrating, but so far it has all been fixable. Yes, the people I meet are amazing and again, it's always the right person at the right time. This will become readily apparent in future videos. I'm so glad the fence didn't have barbs. It was raining pretty hard before I turned on the camera, I just couldn't see the wires until I ran into them. Glad the cattle hauler didn't take you out! I think it is even more dangerous in the States sometimes because drivers are not as aware of motorcycles as they are here. The buses and semis just expect the motorcycle to move over to the shoulder here, which is fine in the daytime. But at night this could be catastrophic if it isn't a motorcycle but rather a car with only one headlight working. The concerns about heading north will be in the next couple of episodes. It's not a great option, but I think I may have what I need to move forward. Then the adventure gets real - and very different. Thanks for writing as always!
Man this is a real adventure! It's crazy how amazing the timing of your mishaps are...except the fence thing obviously :D. Must've been really cool running into a fellow biker with your sticker! How long does it take for one to notice the chain is gone? Thought the loss of power would be noticeable immediately??
Yes, and the adventure keeps getting better and better. I don't like the mishaps, but it is all a part of the adventure. The engine seized up and that is how I knew the chain had broken. It was instantaneous. Thanks for the comment.
Dang Kris You got lucky with that fence. I couldn’t see the fence in the video standing 6 or so feet from it. So seeing it in the rain behind a wet visor. Dang near impossible. I hit an electric fence on a dirt bike once. Straight on, sliced me under my eye and the bridge of my nose needed stitches. Crazy enough I stayed on the bike the wire broke when I hit it. Saved me from more damage I’m sure. So this medicine you bought. Was that a teaser till next episode? Are you taking it back to Colombia ? Where in Colombia are you headed? Safe travels !!
Yeah I know. I can't believe I didn't see it and I'm so glad it wasn't electric or barbed. Dude - did the fence shock you when you hit it? Glad it missed your eye! That would have been a very different story indeed. The medicine I'll be taking over the next month or so. Basically it is a precautionary so I don't catch one of the crazy mosquito viruses here. I'm not taking it back to Colombia, but you can get the same stuff there if needed - basically anti-viral medicines. I started the journey in Medellin, but as long as I get back to Colombia somewhere so I can rest the bike will be fine. Luckily for me, Brazil does not have a TIP for vehicles where the origin country borders Brazil. So technically I could stop here in Brazil, but I'd like the make the full circle of South America before I end season one. Thanks for writing.
You remind me of Itchy Boots, alone, not speaking a word of local language and without cash! That woman was equally reckless, also clueless. Maybe she’s still alive.😅 Still, thanks for the video. It’s entertaining and you put in the effort to get in-and-out of trouble, in some forsaken place. It is appreciated and subscribed!
So you're saying I'm reckless and clueless LOL! Noraly (Itchy Boots) is still alive. Her present season (Season 8) has her in Turkey now, heading toward Japan. I appreciate you comparing me to her as I am a big fan of her work. Thank you very much for subscribing and for the comment. Much more to come.
The bike has definitely had some issues, but I'm sticking with it now - the good the bad and the ugly. Yes He definitely loves us all. Thanks for writing.
I believe Nubank requires you to have a Brazilian bank account, which also requires a CPF. I have neither and it is best that I don't open bank accounts in every country I travel. Sometimes it is a hassle to find ATMs, but so far I have managed well enough. But in little cities it is difficult.
Geez............dude, that bike..........thank god for all the good people!
Want to see some flying!

Congratulations on the 1 year!! Keep the videos coming, and I can't wait to see what has yet to come 🤙🤙
Thanks! Will do! Much more to come and it gets a bit more interesting the farther north I get.

Always meet the right people at the right time. So blessed! Thanks for writing.
Good winds my friend and may your trip around the world be a great success and may you always return to Brazil.
Thank you my friend! I wish you well on all of your travels as well. Keep 2 wheels on the road.
Brazil! 🎉🎉
Good to see you Kris! Enjoy and keep safe!🙌
Thanks Carla! I hope the gasoline situation gets fixed soon. So nice to hear from you again.

Maybe you can get a spare chain when you get to a bigger city. Stay safe my friend
I've been looking. I'd like one without a master link, but I don't know if I'll find it or not. Thank you Kevin.
Iv learned from your channel If your going to take a Paramotor take a trike lol . Have fun and stay safe ‼️
Trike motorcycle or trike paramotor? I think the latter would make it even more difficult LOL! Thanks for watching and for the comment.
@ trike motorcycle 👍
Dang Kris
You got lucky with that fence.

I work on thare, but this thay a was free, day off.
Great to know. Your country is beautiful! Thanks for the comment.
Why don't you use nubank? It's easy to accept this bank's card everywhere.
I believe Nubank requires you to have a Brazilian bank account, which also requires a CPF. I have neither and it is best that I don't open bank accounts in every country I travel. Sometimes it is a hassle to find ATMs, but so far I have managed well enough. But in little cities it is difficult.
