$2,000 for an efficiency apt there and the landlord wonders why he can't keep it rented out. Rents are too high. And if you assume every homeless person is a drug addict then you're ignorant. I was homeless living a van for 2 yrs and I'm neither a drug addict nor a user.
This is coming from a la native...Crenshaw blvd looks so different today...about 10 to 15 years ago it was lots of street activity, now it's changed dramatically with the gentrification & the addition to the new housing being built, but no neighborhood or streets stay the same forever thts just the way it is💯
The thing about this is that there are those who are in this situation but are actually trying to get out. I fear homeless camps like these more in cities that in the north than those in the south where people are just trying to get by
Two issues. Over regulation of permits, and the fact zero developers with private money sources will touch it. See above comment about tax dollars at work. I lived in L.A until I immigrated to the uk in 2019. It’s reeeeeaaaaallly gotten so much worse. Blessings. 🇬🇧

No it’s not. It’s probably like 50% foster kids statistically speaking. Or people who never had anything to begin with, and certainly ain’t getting billions in taxes
What we see here is a political choice. Not Biden, nor Trump, but stretching back generations to the end of the 1960's when the 3rd Industrial Revolution started to significantly affect industrial employment. Politicians failed to address the blatantly burgeoning crisis in both work and housing. In N European countries we have addressed these issues, we have zero homelessness... Because as a society we refuse to accept it. Meanwhile in America ppl make videos of the indigent. Which defines America doesn't it. A society of the finger pointing, the faux pious and complete inertia ... If the individual America is not directly affected, then the shoulders shrug and they offer prayers. 🙄
I live in a country that's 100 times poorer than USA yet I've never seen such a disgraceful dissolution of public space in my life
@@rayb.6537 Don't worry, noone outside the US worries about the US. We just come here to see what third world countries are like.
Yeah not all USA is like that. Our country is just so big and awesome that we have shitty places and amazing places. Same as anywhere
And this is just how it looked at sunrise, when most are sleeping off last night's drugs / not up for the day. If this were at night, you'd be horrified
@@paxton_wulgus YOUD be horrified buddy. You don’t know shit about me
Americans don't take care of their own. Spend money on all other but people.
only in America will you see a Cybertruck driving through a homeless camp
The level of danger in any given area of the US is directly proportional to the number of people just standing around in the street.
Skid Row. May things get better. Thank you for all the roads you travel CharlieBo313 🙏🏿
Crazy how LA looks more rough than the roughest hoods in Chicago and down south.
Minus the homeless ppl this didn't look rough

Is the Cecil in the heart of Skidrow or on the perimeter? Excellent footage, thank you.

3:10 Nice Hannah Montana blankets! 😊

Not the car that killed Ricky “Boyz in the Hoods”😅
Incredibly sad.
Do people live in these buildings, the first 30 seconds?
Imma ride the bus through there this winter.
CharlieBo313 you certainly get around so many places then bam ! Back to Skid Row!
World's greatest country, right? Smh
@2:38 Between the lamppost on the right hand side and the traffic lights you can see a couple of rats running about on the pavement.
Whaaaaaat?! Was this filmed recently? Within the last year?

One of the most uniquely Godless places I’ve ever seen.
He probably passed all kinds of people that have been on Soft White Underbelly
Hey Charlie what type of camera do you use?

It really sad, America economy is collapse. Homeless people everywhere.
Looks like paradise compared to the Philly streets.

0:44 that silver car is to new to have that much dents :(
New cars are expensive, why’s that one so damaged?
Come check out colfax in denver its fucking awful.
With all the money flowing through LA, you'd think they would build apartments on top of these one-story flats and house these people if they want it.

They would live in squalor either way bro. It's a spiritual disease.
Nobody wants to build houses for drug addicts/gang bangers who destroy them and dont pay rent.
Who is going to pay for it, come on now.
They would probably destroy the entire building.
