This is my first MPC too. Just bought one brand new, in the box w/ everything still unopened from someone on Letgo for $200. I couldn't believe he let it go for so cheap. The guy didn't want it cause he likes the Maschine better. How do you like yours so far?

I'm late. It may be pretty hard. They discontinued the software. They have a lot of resources on their website. It's in English though. May have to translate it if you don't read English
Great review, post more. Subbed. Could this go well with an MPK mini? ..thinking i could use the Studio and mini combined somehow for triggering and controlling parameters and samples in my s3200XL rack. The 3 combined will be heaven.

How does this match up to the 3000?
Hey man, do you need to use a mouse at all with the Studio? I heard sometimes you do due to too few q links unlike the Ren, your thoughts?
blootrafficlights yeah you do need to use a mouse at times. They're ways around it using the keyboard but the mouse is just quicker.
Something to be aware of when buying new Akai products is that there customer service sucks! I honestly don't think Akai will be around in 10 years time because their newer sequencers are not built to last.
The Ren is computer based as well, uses the same software MPC 1.9X for now. Until 2.0 comes out.....................

It depends. I say just post it like at 11am. If you have other videos, look at the analytics. It'll tell you when most people watch your stuff

what software is best for this MPC studio, what should i download?
Steezer Stiff it comes with its own software. So just that and what ever sounds you need. Also you can use vst's. So look into those.

does this mpc work with vinyl to make samples?
Guilherme Piropo It can depending on your set up. It's all computer based. You can't directly hook up a turntable to it though, if that's what you were wondering. You would need a stand alone MPC model for that.

So, if this mpc works on computer directly, i could extract the samples directly from mp3 music. That's great stuff too though.

Kenneth Harris I had problems too. Make sure all the information is exactly the same on your account and in the software.

I do wish it was but it wouldn't have been as portable and thin as it is. So it's a trade off.

What is the problem? If it's registering... you need to put the info in the software, exactly as you entered it in the registering process.

Any one knows if there's a video tutorial on how to first set it up? First time user and it gave a "drive error" message. Haven't been able to install it.

+Craig 4rmFriday you need something to input your record player into your laptop. I'm assuming you're using some type of interface. Look up Voicemeeter. It's a program that can help with the sampling. I may do a video on it.

justin armstrong I say it is. Even though you can make some advanced beats, it's cheap (compared to other tools)and intuitive enough to jump in and learn as you go. As with everything there is a learning curve you'll have to get through. I say mpc is what to learn on though.
I would say no. I have it and about to sell it. You better off getting the old school 2000XL.
Hey I also got my mpc studio black for christmas and I use reasons and native instruments maschine but I can't sample youtube into mpc I watched different videos for windows and they don't work do you know how to sample into the black
Jerome Wesley Sr. I do not know how to directly sample. I haven't messed with that feature yet but I will and if I figure it out I'll make a new video about it and let you know.
I just download the song and import into the mpc to chop. it takes seconds
Ibwestchef that's what I do. I can directly sample now but not sure what parameters I changed to be able to do it.
I figured it out I watched a few tutorials on TH-cam and I found the guy who showed how to do it on Windows had to download virtual audio cable and now I could record TH-cam Spotify anything right into the MPC to chop it's pretty nice
Jerome Wesley Sr. Glad you found it. I was trying to figure out how without VAC. I believe my setup work because I use the delta 1010 sound interface.

Yeah it needs a computer. It's not a stand alone.

you should be able to use it just like any midi controller.

You can but you would need a laptop set-top. It's not a stand alone but has some good features for live performances.

I make them, and have a million that I've accumulated over the years. Sometimes I buy kits.

No. They do have a few new machines that are but of course they are more expensive.

No problem. They are great for the money but if you want deep bass you might want to get a sub also. They are studio monitors so their clarity is great. Bass is ok but I mix on a number of speakers so I need these to sound crisp.

never touched an mpc in my life, l learned the basics from you tube vids, and trail and error.. if you cop one, don't expect the manual to explain much... you have to purchase a more in depth manual... don't ... its easy... youtube and trial and error are you best friend, and ITS FREE. LOL

Judge mentu they're pretty sensitive . They respond to the velocity you hit them at. lighter touch means lighter sound or you can turn it too full sound so you get the same volume sound no matter what.
inflewence r midi cords us to connect other controllers i never used them
Judge mentu you can connect it through midi but I just use the USB of my other controller. With the software, it'll pick it up. If you have a stand alone keyboard, you can use midi to directly trigger the keyboard.

I didn't even upgrade to 2.0 yet 😂. I'm always hesitant. I'm always scared to upgrade even though I know it'll be fine, I know the software as is like the back of my hand. I'm not sure if you get the upgrade if you buy now. I think it's worth it even without the upgrade. I'll probably update and find out that it's better and kick myself😄
The thing is trash. I can't get the midi to work. All this computer bullshit in order to even use this thing. when I had the 2000XL it was way was better. I should have kept mine. The Black doesn't sync with my Triton at all and the 2000XL never gave me a problem. Don't waste your money. Get the old school stand alone 2000XL.
Do black producers always rip stuff vinyl? ever here about sound design?
No white producers do it too. Sampling is an art and it's not just about ripping vinyl. It's a tool among many. I don't do it a lot but don't knock people that do. I create from scratch as well. Play instruments myself and sample that.
