Hey there! Thanks for the constructive criticism. After reading your comment, I've gone into the editing studio and put some chapters in for the video to make it easier to navigate. Sorry you didn't like the beginning. They're all labeled accordingly now so you can skip around and get to the parts you care about watching. Thanks and ride safe! 😎
FINALLY someone from the US does a review on this bike, a GREAT review too that covered a lot of the questions I had. Thank you! Got yourself another subscriber.
Pleasure speaking with you Ken! Hoping you are able to get your vlog set up going so you can start saving your adventures. Thanks for watching. Ride safe out there. 😎
I really like you found the added metric units useful on my channel. it's nice to hear the extra time I invest during the editing process is beneficial to a broader audience. Thank you for watching and taking the time to write that out. Ride safe! 😎
I recently got this bike and got 225 miles on it! I am in love coming from dirt to street! e-clutch is AMAZING . -- thanks for your review! one MAJOR note for the E-clutch, Honda is Strictly committed to perfecting the E-clutch... if ANYTHING happens to the e-clutch they require the dealer to mail it back to Japan so they can diagnose the issue while giving the rider a brand new e-clutch... The other thing to note, when you went into that "awkward middle gear change zone", I found a way to fix it.. you have to pull the clutch in and release the clutch after .. it rarely happens, maybe twice since owning the bike... I mentioned it to my dealer and they are going to run a diagnose on the bike when I get the oil done / check up. the beauty of it all though is how committed honda is to this E-Clutch.. they have been doing it for a minute with other models like the gold wing, so the fact that they have added it to a 650... beautiful. Rumor has it eventually other sport models will have it as an optional package. The other great thing to note -- if disabling the E-clutch, you can ride the bike traditionally but while doing that, you also make the clutch more traditional feeling versus when e-clutch is active. My one big thing to learning how to ride on the street if someone buys this bike... take it to a parking lot and learn the clutch before normalizing the E-clutch, since owning, I can see how a new rider will not learn how to ride a motorcycle correctly because of the e-clutch assistance... learning / knowing how to stall and preventing a stall saves lives. -- great video, looking forward to more content!
Hey man, love the video. Very informative review and was pretty entertaining as well! I will be test riding a cbr650r in a couple days so we’ll see how it goes🤞. Thanks for the awesome vid!
Glad you enjoyed the video! The bike exceeded the expectations I had set for it. You should have a great time with it when you do your test ride. Thanks for watching! Ride safe. 😎
The 2018 CBR650F was my first bike and it was the perfect balance of power and comfort to start. Kept it many years. Only downside is the price tag tbh. Great video!
It's a super-well rounded machine, and even if it is more expensive than other options it's definitely a bike that can keep you entertained for a long-while. Thanks for watching! Ride safe. 😎
All of the OEMs are finding ways to implement automatic transmissions. If it opens the world of 2-wheels to more people, it's a good thing to me! Thanks for watching. Ride safe. 😎
@@Omni_Moto For me it is not. Main reason I didn't buy yet this beatifull bike is the look of the e-clutch. I rather have good quickshifter. If you want to have automatic buy a scooter if not learn to ride bike. In the begining of 2024 you could choose between e-clutch and no eclutch now you only have option with e-clutch:/
So E Clutch is the newer version of the REKLUSE AUTO CLUTCH, there's plenty of videos on REKLUSE AUTO CLUTCH. i love the fact that HONDA is always innovative
Yep! The E-Clutch at low speed is super tricky - Hanging the back brake can be helpful, but the ease of use with the e-clutch and being able to override at low speed is very helpful. Aside from that, this machine is super sweet! Thanks for watching. Ride safe. 😎
I need to get the microphone set up in it still. Once I get one installed, it will be ready for vlogs. For now, the Atlas 4.0 has a great mic set up and does well for me. The EOX will probably return next year as the main helmet for walk arounds and rides depending on how the microphone shakes out with it. Thanks for watching! Ride safe. 😎
I think for me cbr650r will be a perfect first bike, it has e clutch to help in traffic, learn how to ride a bike and I can turn it off whenever I want to learn fully manual riding. It's reliable, looks good, if I put an exhaust, I think it was called Austin racing, which sounded 100 times better, it will compensate the low speed boringness. Then just upgrade to 1k cc bike
This bike is a great place to start if you have the foundational elements of 2-wheels down-pat. Try not to rely too much on the rider aides and e-clutch system off the rip, else you may build some bad habits that are hard to break. Otherwise, it's a great pick! Thanks for watching. Ride safe. 😎
Pretty comprehensive bike review. You have a different style. Maybe the initial bite in e-mode is to prevent engine stalling? I do like that you can use m-mode or e-mode for stop-n-go traffic. I-4 engines are premium engines, docile and low speeds, but rips at high speeds.
I wasn't able to appreciate the e-clutch until I got it in my hands and was able to experience how convenient it made stop & go traffic. A very cool system with a fun engine to back it up. Thanks for watching! Ride safe. 😎
Great video and review, just wondering if youve ridden an RS660 and how you feel it compares? I am currently looking at both, and got great offers locally on both which makes it hard to choose. Looking to test ride ASAP but weather here isn't the best at the moment!
I've not had the opportunity to swing a leg over the RS660. The better comparison would be the Tuono 660 since the RS660 is more race oriented vs street oriented. With Aprilia, you'll pay a bit of a premium over the RS660 but you do get the best performance in the class with ~100HP, awesome brakes, and higher spec suspension. There is a price to pay with the cost of ownership and the maintenance required for Aprilia, whereas Honda will be a bit more cost-effective in the long run. Both machines will offer an awesome riding experience, but the Aprilia will gain an edge in aggressive riding. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching. Ride safe. 😎
Hey Omnidude, that is a cool AI song with ripping tune! 2 types of styles, country and western 😉 (blues brothers quote) I've actually never been a fan of Honda. They're just too cardigan style for me even though their bikes are bullet proof. It's the styling that has gone conservative. Gone are the days of the VTR-SP1, the RC45, the NSR's... Now, it's just cardigans. My 2 bobs worth.
Steve, mate, you know just as well as I do that Honda builds good bikes - they just don't excite blokes like you or me. 😂 We can't deny their dependability, but we can always ask for more! Aside from the Fireblade SP RRR and the Africa Twin, I can safely say the rest of their line up is, well... It's just a motorcycle line up - nothing to write home about, and that's a shame because for a long time Honda was a company who pushed the envelope and moved the industry forward. 😕 Nowadays, they make template motorcycles that typically lack any true soul, but they sure are reliable. That's the crux of Honda though, and they seem to be okay with it because they move the metal and make the money. Great talking points as always Steve - cheers to you and enjoy your Australian summer! ☀
Sadly there is not a CBR650R (in the USA) available without the E-Clutch from what I can see on Honda's website. It would be nice to see them make that an available trim level in the line up to encourage others to purchase one who don't want to pay for tech they won't use. If they removed it and made it $500-$1K cheaper they could collect a larger margin of riders in this segment. Thanks for watching! Ride safe. 😎
You grab the clutch handle, and it switches from the auto clutch to completely manual. You can also take it out of auto mode and run it manual. E-Clutch adds $100 or so, but includes quick shifter, which is way more than $100.
ZX4R is awesome fun to ride. To be truly great, it does need an ECU flash immediately upon purchasing to unlock an extra 25HP in the upper rev range. It's definitely up there in the category for best beginner bikes, but I would recommend watching my recent video on the best beginner bikes for 2025 and deciding what type of rider you are and what bike is going to suit you best. Thanks for watching! Ride safe. 😎
You can find the link in the description for my helmet! The one I'm wearing during the specs/features walk through is the Ruroc EOX in Ghost. The one I'm wearing during the test ride is the Ruroc Atlas 4.0 in the Ghost colorway. Thanks for watching! Ride safe. 😎
Yeeeeh mehhh I don't know. Where the fun is you shouldn't ever go, I mean 1st gear does 60mph+. R7, GSX8R, the fun is where you at 24/7, mid range at most. I've seen it described as plain boring, I guess that's because the engine is so linear and at the same time gutless unless you reeeally rev it. Of course it sounds proper supersport dare I say, got that engine tone we've come to associate with sport motorcycles from the past doing not so sensible things down open roads, could be heard from miles away. Honda tamed the inline four but it can't be tamed can it, it's still too big for street use, the zx4rr is probably the only "sensible" way one can still enjoy some of that. E-clutch? People so hardcore looking for a bike they can do 140mph with down highways for "fun" aren't probably the target group for an e-clutch, I see a marketing mismatch here, they'd be just fine with a qs and it wouldn't weigh or cost as much.
The engine is very linear with its power delivery for sure, and will fool anyone who isn't savvy to the world of 2-wheels into thinking it's a more powerful machine than it truly is because of the way it sounds. You mention the ZX-4RR, and truly, I think this bike could be the most logical next step coming off of that bike if someone wants to continue riding on the streets instead of a track. You make an excellent point though with the marketing mismatch and who this bike is targeted at - I trust that Honda did enough market research to keep it just competitive enough in the mid-bore street-bike class that potential consumers will be interested when compared to the other bikes available. I'll always advocate for OEMs pushing into new territory though and experimenting with market segments. It's innovation that drives this industry and keeps us entertained. Thank you for a great comment, thanks for watching, and ride safe. 😎
I'm taking the CBR over the Daytona all day. I've read/heard the Daytona suspension and brakes perform poorly when trying to ride spirited. Beyond that, just sheer reliability and proven dependability from Honda is something that's hard for me to look past. I'm not saying the Daytona is bad, but the CBR650R is really, _really_ good. Thanks for watching! Ride safe. 😎
@@Omni_Moto I have read/heard that CBR has a lot of buzz and vibs at higher rpms which feel at footpegs. Also the weight is more which makes it non nimble to flicker around. Also the low down torque and mid range is not that good. Thoughts ?
@@tusharshyoran3233 An inline 4-cylinder will vibrate a bit because you can't balance the secondary forces caused by the physics of the engine. To that same tune, a 3-cylinder engine will vibrate because it cannot be perfectly balanced either. Sure the CBR does weigh a little bit more, but that added weight can provide you with confidence when riding at speed since you won't be prone to get blown around as easily. The weight only affects your low-speed handling, but once you find the sweet spot of the CBR650R, the extra 20 pounds it carries over the Daytona will be hardly noticeable. Plus, once you're moving all bikes feel mostly weightless. The lesser low-end torque isn't necessarily a bad thing, especially if you're a newer rider. Taking off on a motorcycle that has an abundance of torque can sometimes feel a bit harsh, where the inline-4 cylinder is fairly forgiving if you release the clutch a hair too quickly. Sure, the inline-3 will feel it has more grunt, but at this level of bike the CBR650R makes more sense for a daily rider in my opinion. It truly depends on what you're looking for.
@ Thanks much mate for all your inputs. I am also a bit concerned about the e-clutch thing.. I mean are the up and downshift buttery smooth or there is some clunckyness ? Does the autoblip works fine since it’s not ride by wire ? Also is it nimble enough or feel front heavy while flickering around? Actually CBR is yet to launch in my country(may be in feb 2025) and I am holding my horses to get the Daytona without test riding the CBR. 😅

Can the side mirror close to enable faster manoeuvre in between tight spot? Previous gen release in 2022 has the side mirror lock and need loose the bolt to open and close the side mirror
The Aprilia RS660 is also in the class and it's a lot more expensive and it's got an awesome quick shifter both up and down, unlike the gsx8r, the quick shifter is crappy on that. The RS660 is better than all the rest in that class by a long long way.
The RS660 has some awesome features and specs for sure! It does come at quite the price premium though at $11,099 starting MSRP. For those who crave a bit more performance and uniqueness, it's a great option. Thanks for watching and ride safe. 😎
I can't say either way with 100% confidence. As long as the current generation CBR-600RR continues to sell well within the USA, Honda may not deviate it. They will have to get the new model through the emissions regulations in the US as well and they may not want to pay for that with the updated model that the rest of the world got. I'd say I'm doubting they will bring it to the US, but I'm also hopeful I'm wrong about that. Thanks for watching! Ride safe. 😎
The store did have a V4 earlier this year, but it didn't even last 24 hours before it sold to its new owner. I rode it around the parking lot before that happened, and it was not what I expected out of an Italian superbike, but in a good way. I almost expected it to feel more raw, but it felt very tame and refined at low speed. I imagine that would change as you open the throttle. 😆 Thanks for watching! Ride safe.

Don't put the weight in kg if you're just gonna make it up. For whoever is interested: Cbr650r -> 209kg Cbr650r e-clutch -> 211kg Suzuki gsx8r -> 205kg Ninja 650 -> 193kg R7 was correct
Why would I make that up? I watched it back, and yes, my figures were incorrect. I can try to trim that segment out in the back end YT studio. Guess I just got in a bit of a hurry and should have taken more time to watch it back and double check to ensure accuracy. To take a shot and say I just "made it up" is crazy work my guy. I wouldn't intentionally misinform viewers on my channel - sabotaging my own credibility isn't a good look. Thanks for watching and pointing it out. Ride safe.
@Omni_Moto how is it not made up if it's incorrect? I'm not saying you did it with malicious intent, it's not that serious dude, they just stand out because they are way off. Safe rides.
@@ayna957 If you throw shade at me on my channel and accuse me of making stuff up, then I am going to take it serious and defend myself. The figures weren't "made up". During my conversion process where I copy and paste figures into a conversion calculator, then into text blocks on an editing time line, it is 100% possible I pasted them into the wrong text blocks corresponding with the wrong bike images in the video. After reviewing your comment and watching the video back, the figures I had in the video were accurate, but displayed on the wrong bikes. You're original comment implies that I fabricated numbers and just slapped them into the video without care to legitimacy. I've gone into the back-end studio and trimmed the segment out to prevent any further misinformation. Again, it was an honest mistake and I will own up to that. I accept criticism, but I won't accept slanderous accusations. it's not _what_ you said, it's _how_ you said it. That said, I do appreciate that you took the time to write it out and help me address the issue.
@@Omni_Moto Dude, really, it's not that serious, you're reading the tone wrong just to be offended. The numbers were incorrect and I pointed it out and corrected them in case others want to know the info, that's it, there's no shade being thrown. You're getting too heated over this small thing.

This one or the daytona 660 ? Looking for a fun to ride bike with better ergonomics and refined engine.

The mirrors can be folded in.

@Omni_Moto 👍🏻 thanks
Aprilia don't have a reputation for reliability. I'd rather have a Honda than the Aprilia any day
636 area code? Makes me want a Kawi for some reason 😂✌️💚
Great video dude‼️✌️😁🏆

Or just get the non eclutch version and have fun! 👌🏻
Not available in the US! 👌

Do you think Honda will give us the uk version of the cbr 600 ?
I wish
I can't say either way with 100% confidence. As long as the current generation CBR-600RR continues to sell well within the USA, Honda may not deviate it. They will have to get the new model through the emissions regulations in the US as well and they may not want to pay for that with the updated model that the rest of the world got.
I'd say I'm doubting they will bring it to the US, but I'm also hopeful I'm wrong about that.

Ride a Ducati Pentagali V4S. I'd like to see that on your channel.
Thanks for watching! Ride safe.
@@Omni_Motocrash test goat has a V4S. Had issues with it too here and there. Ended up with a cracked head. Fast af though. Had his chain break once. That was a sight. 😬
Don't put the weight in kg if you're just gonna make it up.
For whoever is interested:
Cbr650r -> 209kg
Cbr650r e-clutch -> 211kg
Suzuki gsx8r -> 205kg
Ninja 650 -> 193kg
R7 was correct
Compared to other midweight bikes, the GSX-R750 blows it away.
The GSX-R750 is in a completely different class/segment of motorcycle. Supersports are not fair comparisons to this machine, or standard sport machines, as they are not designed for the same purpose.
