You and Itchy Boots are the best motorcycle channels. I love your "Englishisms" it's so not Canadian. Good technical stuff from an experienced rider. Cheers from the Pacific West Coast of Canada.
Perhaps you should have told those Valentino Rossi lookalikes in front of you that they were out testing a touring bike and not at Silverstone on a race bike. As for the bike, it's a Honda so you can't go wrong.
Thank you so much for this initial review. This is the first I've heard of the new IMU module that works with the DCT. I understand exactly what you meant by the DCT changing gears in a corner. It's one of the things I haven't liked on my '22 Goldwing but I've gotten used to it and have learned to anticipate it. The IMU sounds like it's solved this problem, if I ever get the chance I'll try it out someday.
Great review Kate…as you know I had one of these when they first came out. I liked it but after we met I changed it for the 1250 GS. Looks like it’s much improved on the one I had and good value for money it seems. Cheers
Had a real long look at this at the Bike show this week and am very impressed. Interestingly, the guy on the stand said that anyone with the original jerky DCT system can take it to their Honda dealer for a free software update which will (hopefully) iron out the issue. Sticking with my Tracer 9GT for now though! Keep the content coming Kate, still up there with the most objective on YT.
Another objective review, good stuff Kate.. Your energetic enthusiasm sets you apart it really does.. Spoke to you at Motorcycle Live last Sat ..the two of us from Preston... Just a little tip.....try not to mix up the words Voyager and voyeur..... Trust me on this one..... Look forward to the Hornet review... Respect lass, your brill..👍
Great review Kate. Thanks. I have the previous model NT1100. The addition of the cornering IMU, the electronic suspension and the new colours add to the bikes appeal.
Great review, Kate. Always appreciate the real-world perspective! Marriage is different from dating. Honda, now that this great bike is perfected, it's time for its US debut! Give Kate a long-termer and have her check out the States! We've a few great roads, and even more buyers :)
Good review, really nice motorcycle, enjoyable to watch! I hope they bring it to the USA. I haven’t seen your work before, although I realize now that you have been around for a while. In any case this is very well done. We need to encourage women in motorcycling, fwiw please keep going!
No, just 3 variants. I thought Manual with ES would be a welcomed addition but 2/3rds of NT1100 sales since 21 have been DCT - so that may have had some influence in that decision by them.
Great video, Kate. Love to watch you going through those nice long sweepers. Those speedometers were in KPH, as opposed to MPH, correct? I saw 100+ on yours. Those guys in front of you, looked like they were on The Isle of Man.
With the size of the luggage it will make a fantastic touring bike. Can't think of another brand that comes close with DCT, electronic suspension etc for the price. Will be interested to see what the Voyager pack costs when they announce it. Definitely a contender for my next bike. Great review, covered all the things we need to know......
colour is very nice, wish they did the Africa twin in that. I have had occasion to use the cornering abs on AT, the imu is involved I guess. It is very impressive.
my old man had the older dct model, that gearbox was lethal if you were trying to do a turn in the road, The result was a broken foot, Hopefully the imu fixes that issue in the new version.
Great video and it adds a lot more to think about. I was looking at the Honda NC700 adventure bike but i would only use it on the roads. These sports tourers really give you something to think about. Have you Rode the NC750 yet?
How's the power on the new bike? I looked at this one, though an older model, and looked at the Africa Twin, and since the AT had more oomph I chose that one, though one that had a Puig tall screen, side baffles, fork tunnel baffle, etc etc.
Manual, Blue, not interested in electronic suspension. Just increases the price and the risk of one of the components breaking. Not a big issue for some but my next purchase will be with me for around 15 years.
Honda puzzles me. The NT probably has around 70% of the DNA of the Africa twin, so I just wonder what’s the point of it. But then you can get a comfort seat for it but not with the Africa Twin ? A biker with great nails 😂How do you fit them in your gloves though !?
They're my own nails, I don't know, they just fit 🤣 i guess the AT has the ability to venture off road or do the green lanes but I wouldn't wanna do it on an NT 😊
Looks like Honda listened to the comments from their dealers - I had one for a few days when looking at a new machine, was unimpressed in a huge number of departments, weight, early DCT, seat like a plank, lack of go with the engine, poor damping..... probably more suited to Touring than scratching as you lot were....
Nice sunshine, we could do with some of that in the UK right now. All this electronic jiggery pokery is wasted on me. If you learn to ride a bike properly the only thing you really need (for emergencies) is ABS. Swap the DCT, mumbo jumbo, etc, for shaft-drive, heated seat, electronic screen and lowers and you've got yourself a decent tourer. 100 bhp might be enough, albeit you weigh bugger-all. You need to put a heavy bloke, his Mrs and all their holiday gear onboard and then see how it goes. Last point: why should any bike need a comfort seat? Why can't the manufacturer get the standard seat right in the first place? Embarrassing.
I agree about the seat, it's all about extra sales with comfort seats. The same could be applied to front fenders etc. I get it with bikes who's looks and styling demands a short fender, but generally there is no excuse. This shortcoming also increases the need for a radiator guard. It's all about after sales, they are all guilty of it to some degree. Back to the seat, when buying new, you should be able to swap out a standard seat for a lower seat option at the point of sale at no extra cost, Instead of being stung £300 for one.. 😉👍
Sorry, no shaft kills it. If you only drive 3000 miles a year, no biggy right? When you drive 15,000 to 20,000 miles a year with extended runs, I don't want to visit a honda dealer 3 times in my trip to service a chain, or even mess with it. Next?
Depends what aspects of motorcycling you enjoy 😊 It's nice to see what these things can do before riding it nice and sedately on our British potholes 🤣
The best value for money in the market right now, especially the base model. Honda will be one of the few that will survive the Chinese.
Absolutely agree. With the prices of their latest bikes Honda are definitely positioning themselves to fend off the Chinese onslaught.
great value I think!
Good that you were invited to the launch. Nice to see a more representative launch event. Another good video. Thanks
Hopefully, there on merit and not as a box tick 🙏

Haha, they were feeling rowdy! Cant wait to UK road test it!
Kate is always flaunting her “top box”!
Great review. Have the manual with quick shifter and love it. Never going to be the quickest but really comfortable and great for long tours. 🙂

22’ Goldwing has a 6 axis IMU so you already have it!!! You may need to re-initialize your transmission and update the ECU!
@@veiledallegory Nuh uh! Really?! I'll have to look into it. Thanks!!!

Good to know! Thanks for sharing the knowlegde.
The bike isn’t my bag but it’s an impressive piece of kit. Always love the ride out footage on these launches, the roads look glorious ❤
Roads where dreamy for the most part, except for the random bits of dirt every now and again from the floods

Looking forward to your review on the new Tracer Y-AMT 🤔
One on the list for 2025 :) and thanks!

Great review as always thanks Kate. The ES sounds a really positive addition. I love mine and would certainly consider another one 👍
:) Thanks John!!
Great review. Honda please send this bike to the US!
Coming to you...may 2025 🙌🙌🙌
You got the Voyeur kit, does that come with binoculars then 👀Great first ride review Kate, very authentic. I've just put my deposit down on one!
Comes with twitchy curtains haha
Handsome bike. I like it. Good review UNK. Cheers!
Oh, and that saying "Bob's your uncle" always strikes me as funny. :)
Wow that was quick, Bet your not missing the Roads and weather in Spain at the moment. It bloody wind & Rain in Lincoln 🥶❄️🌧️
I'm back home and quicky ran to stick the heating on haha
If I was going to buy a tourer, I’d buy this bike in its manual configuration. Does it come with electronic suspension? 😊👍👍
The electronic suspension only comes with the DCT version
@ should be a choice on all of the bikes 😊👍
No, just 3 variants. I thought Manual with ES would be a welcomed addition but 2/3rds of NT1100 sales since 21 have been DCT - so that may have had some influence in that decision by them.

Hello. Beautiful first contact. Awesome. Question for you... From the existing 3 colours, which one do you like the most? Thanks
Thank You Kate! This is the One!
I have a 2023. NT1100DCT. 😀
🙌🙌🙌

Blue looks fab would consider dct and electric pack . Great sport touring bike 👍

I always thought on paper they were a bit underpowered but it wasn't lacking on this launch for me (in tour mode)
Love your reviews can you do one on a Kawasaki 1400 GTR I know it’s old bike now but would love to see what you think about it.
I have had two of those, brilliant bike.
If I can get my hands on one, I'd love to!
Manual, Blue, not interested in electronic suspension. Just increases the price and the risk of one of the components breaking. Not a big issue for some but my next purchase will be with me for around 15 years.
Good shout!
It’s a really nice bike I wouldn’t be surprised if it didn’t take sales from bmw and KTM
It's the "Voyager" upgrade, not the "Voyeur"-that's an entirely different vibe :) :)
I wish they did the dct on the cbr650
As a rider who always rides with my wife on the back it's always disappointing that the vast majority of reviews presume everybody rides one up!
It's the european launch of a brand new model. I'm sure the pillion rides with follow pretty swifty 😊
Great looking bike. This type of bike needs to be belt or shaft drive.
I'm old school and want a clutch, do you know what the sales difference between dct and traditional clutch bikes are? ... Just curious
I think it's 66% DCT but I'll fact check myself shortly
Thanks Kate
Since 2021, 2/3rds of NTs sold have been DCT :)
@@UsernameKate thankyou for confirming 😊

I would like the manual gearbox with es.
If only it existed!
@UsernameKate true I think honda a missing a market there

I so wish they sold these in the USA... such a cool bike, so dumb they won't do it.
You're in luck!! Coming to the USA May 2025 apparently!
@@UsernameKate wow... that is amazing... I can't wait!

@@UsernameKate I hope so...we are still waiting for the Hornet 750....3 years and counting lol
First the duval then the nt1100
It needs a driveshaft or belt drive. Who wants to mess with a chain on a sport touring bike?
100% the dumbest part of the bike is a chain
We never get these in the USA. Cruel fate.
